Our 2021 Volunteer Trail Crew season is just around the corner and registration begins on March 1.
Are you ready for another successful trail season? Our Stewardship team has been preparing for what is sure to be a busy summer.
To that aim, our team embraced a balanced diet, strict exercise regime, and dedicated themselves to fine-tuning their crew leader skills.
Since 2012, we’ve spent nearly 40,000 hours building and maintaining trails across the state. Even with Covid-19 shakeups last summer, we still managed to improve over 60 miles of trail.
This summer we are jumping back in the ring. Our Volunteer Trail Crew will return to old haunts in the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness, along the Continental Divide Trail, and up the North Fork of the Blackfoot River. We will also venture to the East Pioneers, Snowcrest Range, and Pryor Mountains (our first-ever projects in those landscapes), and more. Needless to say, we are covering some serious ground in 2021 - and we need your help.
Sign up to volunteer on one or more of 11 trail projects open to the general public this summer.
Spots are limited, as the health and safety of our volunteers are our top priority on all these projects. To mitigate the risk presented by Covid-19, we will continue to practice social distancing, emphasize good hygiene at camp, and wear masks when circumstances call for it. All of our crews will be limited to eight trail volunteers to keep group sizes more manageable.
