Imagine that you've assembled a super power that matched the other 2, only to be told that it was caused because someone decided to meddle with the past.
@CranialDamage without Einstein the concept of the nuclear bomb wouldn’t exist? Do you understand Oppenheimer was considered the father of the nuclear bomb not Einstein correct?
I can't believe how E.A was able to get so many award winning actors into a video game with cutscenes that, without context, appears to be for an adult film
@@Hebdomad7 *Peter:* Tried that, actually. Well, you know I never really agreed with your making him infamous, Mr. Jameson, sir. The thing is, I tethered myself to this timeline and anything that changes it sparks off a new one that I can't go to without breaking the tether... *Jonah:* Space and time are Old Testament? Moses, Parker. (shrugging) Your machine, your call, but you have to negotiate your contract all over again if you do it. *Peter:* (Rueful smile) Yes, sir. (The scary thing is that this actually complies with MCU time travel as of Endgame...)
Yeah it's really incredible and I feel like the actors are just having fun But something like the red alert series probably won't be made anymore, at least not any time soon
True, and interestingly, I knew George Takei, Tim Curry and many others from the RA3 cutscenes, so everytime I see George Takei I will always remember him as "The actor who played as the Japanese emperor in RA3", instead of how most people will remember him as "The actor who played as Sulu in Star Trek".
The *only* nuance to be found in the entire dang game, is that when they command the android to ask for clarification, it zooms in on the doctor's lips, algorithmically confirming that he is not lying.
Imagine if people were really like this. "Tronald Dump tried to overthrow the government." "He did? Damn...well I guess I'll start attending socialist rallies."
If it didn't say that this was a cutscene from a video game I'd have thought it was a scene from some great goofy comedic short film. JK Simmons as a crazy robot President? Hell yes!
The plot twists that occur in this two-minute scene are insane. "Time travel is real." "What?! No! Divine Destiny is phony!" *unplugs a wire that reveals the President of the United States is an android, which no one even comments upon* "Russia and America teamed up and are attacking us!" "You are SHOGUN now!"
I mean CD Rom weren't huge once you start jamming in masses of video beside all the other data your game needs. Gotta make every second of screentime count
The guy could pull his pants down and take a dump right there and nobody would dare comment on it or risk showing any disrespect. Notice that his son despite being flat out told he is right and his father is wrong doesn’t gloat or question in and shows total reverence. In such a campy universe that part is pretty much true to life.
I love the fact, that Peter Stormare, who is a swedish guy, plays Russians even in video games. For those who don´t know: he´s known to always play some villainous Russians in movies, he even makes fun of it. "My agent calls me up." "Hey Peter, we got a role for you, Russian gangster." "But I´m Swedish..." "Eh... close enough." "And that´s how I end up, playing always some Russian mobsters." 😆
C&C 1 and Red Alert 1 along with Tiberian Sun and C&C 3 played it straight, serious. The camp came with RA2 then they doubled it in RA3. So definitely not the C&C entire series is full of goofy cutscenes. Just the Red Alert sequels.
@@Erikcleric But the camp only works because they play it straight and over the top. They play it like Mortal Kombat actor, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. I could see only Tagawa, George Takei, or Noriyuki "Pat" Morita for a role like this [if the Emperor was played by a dude]. They each have verying forms of "giving Shatner a run for his money, but from a Japanese actor" levels of intentional and unintentional camp. Given Morita was firstly and chiefly a comedian makes this even more hilarious. Tagawa and Takei are serious actors who have excellent comedic timing from an over the top standpoint quite similar to Jerremy Irons. If you had those three playing as part of a "council of evil mages" in some D&D spinoff, I'd legit throw my money at you for the epic levels of villain camp alone. For a somewhat, but not actually, more "serioius" take on this particular trope, see Alan Rickman. I've love to see some alternative world where Alan Rickman (RIP you tea making badass!), Morita {RIP you comedic genius!}, Tagawa, and Irons star in a film together. With that level of epic, at any moment I'd be waiting for Machiko Soga [possibly voiced by Barbara Goodson] to pop out with possibly Arleen Sorkin playing an old Harley Quinn, with perhaps as some DC live action adaptation or fantasy film mashup of WB movies, or another Spectre film for Bond. Like, any of these actors I can see uttering, "I was curious to see what kind of man you were. I thought there may be even a place for you with SPECTRE. But, it appears that I was mistaken. I misjudged you, Mr. Bond. You have fallen into my trap. Now... [cue villain monologue." the only thing that film would be missing is Mike Myers PLAYING A REFORMED DOUGLAS POWERS alongside maybe Jim Carrey. Hmm... I guess we know who they will revive for 10th installment in Paramount's Sonic the Hedgehog film. 🤣
When you think about it, its a really interesting concept that an empire built on the idea of divine destiny finds out that it exists on a fluke, that it could cease to exist on just as much of a fluke. George Takei's system of belief is shattered in that very instant
@@SCP--bm6td since this is the Empire's Campaign. They actually use it to steel their resolve and take over what IRL Imperial Japan's holdings at the peak of the pacific theater and also Hawaii which was never annexed by the US in this timeline and remained a Japanese Protectorate. There is actually a mission midway through the Empire's Campaign where you defend Pearl Harbor from the Allied Navy.
Christopher Walken won an Academy Award and he was in Ripper alongside Jonathan Rhys-Davies, Burgess Meredith, Paul Giamatti, and Karen Allen. I know my comment adds nothing to your conversation, I just think it's neat.
the saddest part of this scene is that the emperor of rising sun has depression, everything is a lie they never existed from the start and wanted to commit seppuku there’s no honor and meaningless it’s sad when you see him he’s in a state of shock and depression the black and white scene represents of defeat
They maybe did exist from the start but didnt get the role when nukes was around whish Hiroshima and Nagasaki suffered by those untill Ussr decided to play with time machine and removing Einstein without realizing that he is the reason why nukes exist
@@axellmorren347 He doesn't die in the Rising sun campaign, he just resigns and gives the empire to his son. The soviets assassinate him The allies also don't kill him either, in the allied campaign you kill all three commanders but not the emperor or his son.
The Imperial campaign is my favorite story despite the challenging missions. It kinda felt rewarding after we destroy the time machine so that it will never be used to change history ever again.
@@artken4901 why not? The Soviets have the ak and the empire have something that looks like the f2000. It doesn't have to be an ar15 there are plenty of assault rifles developed be western countries like the g36, famas, L1A1/SLR/FAL, m16,m4, scar and the L85/SA80 for example

Soviet: flak troopers reporting, but please wait for the engineer to build bunker Allied: Javelin reporting, waiting for engineer to deploy medical camp.
I know the three campaigns are set in separate timelines, but the whole thing about the President being an android-spy for the Empire does seem like something that would fit his betrayal in the Allied campaign.
If you kill his helicopter ride in lvl 6 of the allied campaign in the last bit when he's trying to escape, it crashes into a green fire, same as the empire mecha units.
it still works considering everytime in the allied campaign the idea of an alliance (or even an armistice) with the soviets is brought up in favor of focusing their efforts on the Rising Sun, the President is always against it.
@@e-satan9032 it is implied that Ackerman is a Japanese spy robot even in the Allied campaign, here are the clues: 1. When the Allied and Soviet joined forces to fight Japan, he tried to fire his intercontinental laser at Moscow to break the alliance which will greatly help Japan in defeating both factions. 2. When his helicopter gets shot down, it explodes into green flames like Japanese vehicles do upon explosion.

Jonathan Pryce??? Peter Stormare??? J.K. Simmons??? And George Takei??? And I thought Tim Curry was the most unexpected person to appear in the _Red_ _Alert_ series.
YESS THANKYOU, some people are stupid in thinking the bombs stopped Japan when actual physical attacks from the Russians was scarier then nukes, like you literally have murder hobos that charge in head first against danger and will do more then kill civilians if they get ahold of them.... Trust me surrender to the US was the only way to not get steamrolled by the Russians
The Red Alert series is basically a cautionary tale that time travel probably won't make things better, as leaders still want to conquer each other no matter who is in their way.
@@waltherstolzing9719 Good point; it's entirely possible that we _can't_ know (yet) or it would ruin everything. To paraphrase a couple relevant quotes: "The first rule of [time travel], is ~ _the Vulcan Science Directorate has determined that time is impossible."_ Any timeline which had appeared to be lacking time travel, seems likely to look very _very_ different once time travel is introduced publicly... assuming it's a two-way trip, anyway. Otherwise it's less like travel & more like exile to an alternative history from whence there is no return? Whenever I hear people talk about any credibly plausible possibility of prior or current alien visitation, something in my head goes "Oh, you mean those humanoid descendants of ours from the future?" as if that's the more believable scenario to me, for some reason. I mean, I'd be very surprised+worried to find out that macro-scale colonies of differentiated cells & symbiotes _haven't_ evolved anywhere else yet, but given that it _has_ happened _here,_ it really feels inevitable to me that we'll either die on this rock or exist long enough to do _really_ crazy stuff like discovering wormholes & poking around the other ends of them.
Imagine being on the other side and seeing the President wig out like that. Imagine them just being like "Is he having a seizure? I knew the news would be traumatic but damn!"
This is also a sub-division of the series called Red Alert. This game is Red Alert 3. The main series which is Command and Conquer also had a release before this one called Command & Conquer 3 which featured Michael Ironside. It was a great time to be a C&C fan. The media team also had a weekly online show that showcased player battles and game updates. They would even have tournaments! It's too bad EA dabbled to much and ruined it all with trying to turn C&C4 into a live services game.
RA3 is the worst of the RA series. If it weren’t for the notoriously bad AI pathfinding the original RA would be the best but RA2 has great pathfinding making it the beat out of the three. The original CnC, despite the fact the AI cheats, is one of the best of the Tiberium timeline which the original RA soviet campaign is the prologue to. CnC3 was the best until they failed to rebalance the campaign after the economy rework so that honor goes to CnC2.

I've only ever seen images of Takei in that outfit. I've never seen it in a scene before and I always assumed someone managed to get George Takei as a mentor in a Power Ranger series.
