Whether a university, business, organization, or an individual, when the realization comes that there are no longer sufficient funds to go forward, it tend to be messy and not pretty. Heard that 600 hundred staffers were losing jobs and wondered why a school this size had 600 plus staffers. Universities and colleges have increasingly become bloated inefficient institutions offering too many fluff courses of studies if they can get the dollars, and unable to properly manage staffing levels. Basically less serious centers of study.
People assume schools are governed by a different set of altruitic rules and should act and function accordingly. Nope. Theyre a corporation, a business, just like any other profit drive entity. And when the business decides its time to count and your losses and tuck and tail and run, this is what happens. And people still get pickachu faced over it when it happens. They dont understand, the admissions office are basically glorified salespeople, trying to separate you from your money just like any business.
what do you think all the employees are going to do. this is a business where they are bankrupt if they are not getting paid everyone is going to leave. the students need to take business classes. they are liquidating the doors are locked and see you later.the students got ripped off 54k to go there no way.
The school was in business for nearly a century and a half, and just a few short years after the faculty unionized, demanded huge raises, and threatened strikes, the school collapsed. Mayhaps there's a correlation?
Plenty of non unionised businesses & institutions go bust.Bad management is bad management. You just, unfortunately, end up with a collective of incompetent people who shouldn't be doing the job, & the rest suffer?
Wait for the school to announce imminent closure and THEN demand answers...seems far too late. Looks like the grift is ending for those school staff and faculty, and their students can get started on flipping burgers for the next 40 years.
😂 Let it sink!!!! I know from experience, there’s so much excess and narcissistic BS in these places. I studied art (BFA and MFA). When I was finished I got as far away from this environment as I possibly could. Today I do my art and sell it and have a simple life. You don’t need a degree from one of these hyped scamstitutions to be an artist.
