Hello and welcome to Old Ways Gardening and Prepping. 🍀 Would like to welcome you out to the shed of many names on this chilly evening. Fixing to warm this shed up and make a big batch of Rebel pressure canned meatloaf. Yes you can can meatloaf as long as you follow certain directions. It is simple and easy and anyone can do it.
Now I will say it does taste different from regular oven baked meatloaf because there is no fillers in it. The only difference in the flavor is it tastes lighter that is all. We were very surprised the first time I made it and definitely decided we wanted to keep making it and adding more to our pantry shelves.
Below you will find the list of ingredients that I used. Now of course seasonings is optional and you can choose to use other seasonings that you like. Hope you enjoy this recipe.
Anything with the sign * is optional.
Canned Meatloaf
9lbs. of 81/19 ground beef
1 container of fresh Pico de Gallo, drained *
2 medium onions, small diced
2 large bell peppers, small dice
4 large scrambled eggs
2 TBsp's dried oregano *
1 TBsp dried onion powder *
1 TBsp dried paprika *
1 TBsp ground black pepper *
2 heaping TBsp's of dried parsley *
1/2 cup dehydrated mushrooms *
2 TBsp's Slap Ya Mama seasoning *
1 heaping TBsp of garlic powder *
2 TBsp's minced garlic *
3 TBsp's of liquid smoke *
Mix all ingredients together very well making sure that all the meat, seasonings and vegetables are mixed throughout the meat.
You will want to pressure can pint jars for 75 minutes and quart jars for 90 minutes. Now for my altitude I pressure can using 10 lb of weight. It will depend on your location and what poundage of weight that you have to use.
