What a FANTASTIC video! Extremely educational. I picked up tinkering with small engines over the last couple years and have a pressure washer with the exact same problem…so I am looking forward to troubleshoot it following this video. Honestly, I was going to trash it and then did a quick search and was so glad I didn’t. I can’t wait to try all these steps tomorrow! Thank you for a great video. Downloading and saving this video for future review! THANK YOU!
Changed the oil on a Honda GX390 differently then I usually do and tilted it far down to drain it and then filled it up with fresh oil after. When i went to start it (electric) it would turn a little then struggle and stop, tried with the stink pull and it became impossible to crank, so i took the cover off the pill start and hooked a wrench up to it to get it to free up. It would not start at all and i had no idea, before almost switching out my whole unit i came across this video and realized that i had tilted it over just like you said. I checked all the symptoms and it had them, i did what you did and pulled and pulled , put tiny cloth down into it and pulled and let dry etc. cleaned it all up then rehanged the oil. working great again as usually. i will never tip my machine over to drain the oil ever again! thanks so much your video was a money and time saver plus educator!
Hi Brian First, thank you for this useful and informative video. Can you tell me the type of oil to use for the pump, please?? Note I have the same model. Thank you. Vick from Mauritius Island.
The smoke comes from the excessive oil that was being blown out through the exhaust valve. About 2 or 3 ozs. The muffler costs about $85 on a Honda, or 30 mins runtime with water unrestricted.
Zi have a pressure washer that I found.... Laying on ours face.....I got it to start ran for about 30 second s before it ran out of gas..... Put out in my truck later I took my bike of the truck the w washer was sitting there to s ride came back and it was on it's face on the ground
Hey Brain, im lost, cant get this gx390 to crank over. Pulled out spark plug and cant pull cord still. Spark plug is dry, took pull cord off turned it back one full turn, put cord back and gives me the one pull then is still locks with out plug in.
I left gas lever open, machine sat for 3 days, then drove to jib site noticed gas lever open and tired to pull start and it was locked up, sprak plug was dry when I pulled it out
@@williamvillalobos1398 if you can turn it back, but locks up on a partial pull with no plug, then you have a mechanical failure. You will most likely need a rebuild or replacement engine
This Brian is full of shit. Turn off the gas and the bowl under your carb. Unscrew the side nut all the way out and let it drain out. Turn it over now a few times to clear it out. Thank me later
This is the MiTM CA-4004-1MGH. It is a Honda engine with a 4000psi General pump with remote unloader. I highly reccomend this model in the direct drive.
Yh man you made me like this machine more ! I have a briggs an stratton with a 4400psi pump on it but it vibrates when i adjust the unloader cuz the pump was a one inch shaft so i had to buy a 1inch to 3/4 sleeve adapter for it to fit..and im gonna get the pressure guage to see which pressure im currently at! Mind you the briggs is 17 years old purchased it way back in 2007, and it still roars!😎
I tried this repair on a stuck Predator engine. I loaned it to someone in working condition and a day later they said it was stuck. It was. Sure enough oil just squirted out of the dip stick area when I unscrewed it. I removed the spark plug. Still stuck. The crank shaft can be rotated counter clockwise about 3/4 turn, or forward the same 3/4 turn. Stops with a clunk and of course can't be spun to start it. What now?
