I remember watching this episode live and the entire chat was just filled with people loving Pretty and saying things along the lines of "I will kill for this ogre"
I love the date conversation on so many levels. Dorian’s nervous energy over his brother being read as some fans as jealousy of Laudna going on a date for…some reason? Ashton laying out their many disastrous flirtations across the Spires, Letters surprising the party with his blunt “Are you gonna *fuck* him?!”. Fearne seeming to be down to clown with Pretty. “His heart is very big, swollen, turgid.” The double take from Sam, Robbie and Travis was beautiful. Liam fishing for if Laudna had a crush on Percy and Tal’s wide-eyed expression. “Whitestone Andy.” Truly a wonder of comedy
I only have one correction, that wasn't Letters, that was SAM! lol. (Which as funny as it was it's also super out of character so I kind of wish he wouldn't but hey, whatever.) Sam's gonna Sam.
The entire tavern scene in this episode is easily one of my favourite scenes across all of Critical Role. Had tension, great NPC's, lore drops, small character moments, and hilarity, while also moving the plot forward. Peak D&D right there!
The way he aggressively growl-cries is adorable.... Also, Nico; your EDITS, man! They need to edit the actual SHOW like that, close-ups and all. The focusing on whichever players are reacting the most - like you do here - adds SO much to the energy.
I like them both to be honest. I love watching everybody's reactions and not just the ones with the most energy. And then, I love Nico's edits as a highlight reel.
Well thatd be kinda hard to do seeing as how its live... They can't alwaya tell whose gonna talk to who each time. Or whose going to react the most. And doing that for 3 hours post production a week is sorta unreasonable.
Matt is such a genius and probably the best DM of all times. The way he performs, the characters and storylines - just perfect. Even if you're not a hardcore DnD/Roleplay fan it's extremely entertaining and you can just see the hard work and talent.
All I can say is, if episode 10 is not solely based around the date with Pretty, then there's no point continuing the campaign. Seriously though, I love that Ogre chef already.
the last time I was all mushy and dying from cuteness over a character was Liam's character, Buddy the Ogre, from the Darrington Brigade oneshot. Buddy was so cute and adorable i just couldn't stand it in all the best ways
@@Mattdovah I love the idea of Ogres naming their children after the first word they can think of to describe them. This means Pretty had loving parents.
It's a moment where Matt basically disappears, and all we can see is the Ncp he is acting in, and with the cast interacting with, is always fun to watch
Imogen asking Pretty on a date is the most unexpected shit I’ve ever seen in Campaign 3 🤣🤣🤣 Also FCG being completely confused about why the three girls are going on a date
Why didn't anyone Make bets If the bottle will fall or Not? XD Also, I would love to see this animated. I love pretty. I laughed so hard and I hope this could be a recurring NPC.
If this date had gone as Sam suggested/asked. . . I would get so much second hand trauma from Matt 😂 🤣 This is not how I expected my night to go but here we all are; watching an sweet ogre named Pretty get awkwardly flirted with by three beautiful woman who don't know what they're doing. Goals I guess, since I'm basically Pretty in real life. 🤣
