Prey Review: Should You Buy in 2022? 

Prey might be my favourite game of all-time. I hope we get a sequel some day.

Your reviews are amazing! I agree, I love Prey so much and it’s not just underrated, it seems somewhat largely unknown at times. I was so addicted to the recycling and crafting too, and one of my favourite things was the fact that nothing ever respawned. You get what you get and have to use them very wisely. Every now and then I have to listen to Semi-Sacred Geometry.

I played it the first time on 2018 and it didn’t click with me, but it was because i had never played an arcane studios game at the time, later i played most of their games until death loop was released on game pass, now i am around 20 hours or less into prey and i gotta tell u i am in love with this game its so good I can’t stop playing it, arcane studios sure make their games with love

I love that people are making videos about this. I picked it up for the first time now. I'd just like to say: even if it's an old game now, I'd hope to see people avoiding spoilers more in reviews. Like in here, even the intro sequence is such a cool surprise. Luckily, I was past that point in the game already - but seeing that you did go through that, I'm afraid of watching the rest of the review.

Finished it yesterday for the first time. Great game! Got to admit, I was *barely* scraping by on "normal", when coming back up from Deep storage I was 'rewarded' by getting 1-shot killed 5-6 times in rapid succession by the waiting Nightmare 😱. Changed to 'Story' difficulty after that 😂.

I think i remember watching a review of Prey 2017 having to wishlist in Steam luckily it's own Epic Games so if you're interested to play it go it there and added bonus free games always available there.

Good review. But I have to say that I am happy that I played the opening of the game before seeing this video. I went in blind, and didn't have that great intro spoiled!

I think the retelling of the history is a bit too compressed, so for anyone reading: Soviets find Typhon -> build space station with USA -> Soviets try to assasinate JFK but fail -> only USA doing stuff -> they abandon the project and the old station -> a LOT later TranStar buys the rights to the station and the research

The reality is that in the gaming industry, like any and absolutely every industry, its all about the money. If it doesn't sell well, you won't see a sequel. Cash over creativity. Got Prey with the PSN subscription. If you're a bioshock, system shock or half life fan (or all 3 of them obviously) - This is probably for you. It takes big inspiration from those games in my opinion, but in a respectful way and it stands on its own two feet. Can't deny that I felt like Gordan Freeman jumping into my suit or the protagonist in system shock 2 running for my life down spaceship corridors. Solid gunplay but I would love iron sights. Love the alien design too. Excellent review, I appreciated your thoughts.

Absolutely amazing game and only recently started the game but I can’t wait for my second play through already

It's one of those games that legit gets better every time you play. I found a way in my 6th playthrough to the second half of talos before going through the guts. I killed January so December is the one Guiding me this time. 10/10 only down side is load times late game. Play on an ssd.

Prey Deluxe Edition is on sale right now for $9.99 and I think I'll give this game a chance since Arkane is basically giving it away at this price

answer for the question posing as a title for this video:might have claimed it free on xmas 2021 (but maaaybe out of the picture due to this being a "Worthy in 2022?" video,but its close enough) and since i played the hell out of the base game,platinumed it in the process (as i played the way i want via epic the first time due to not having achievements there but once i jumped on steam i played the ways to meet the achievements requirements,including different playstyles)

YES YOU SHOULD. I’m replaying it on ng+ for first time and it’s so fun even second time around. Such a good story SO GOOD STORY. and slept on environment. Even tho I know most of the environments it’s so fucking good and immersive

Prey, Dishonored 2, Dishonored are my favorite games and in that order.

Easily game of the decade and one of my top ten ever.

a flawed masterpiece. It has problems with its pacing, imho the map deserved a 3d/holographic version to better understand how to navigate Talos and the Nightmare can be really underwhelming to face if you spend time grinding for neuromods and weapon upgrades. Some of the story characters can be less than memorable(making some missions uninteresting) cause our interactions with them happens mostly through sound recordings; the few instances when many human being are in the same room together(i.e. : Ilyushin and Ingwe, or Cpt. Elizar's Crew in the Cargo Bay) become messy with dialogue lines overlapping each others or characters walking around scared(Ingwe and Ilyushin in Morgan's office area). But i LOVE IT. Its filled to the brim with good ideas and the execution of the loot/craft aspect is GENIOUS. The space walks and zero G sections are damn disorientating but that's exactly how they should be. The space station is a fantastic setting, even better than what Rapture was. Flawed masterpieces are my favourite kind of masterpieces(kinda like the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R.)

Its a great game. I played it to the end and am just about to play it again. It was my favourite game in 2017 and I can`t understand why it did so badly sales wise when far worse games have sold much better.

Not sure why but watching Prey gameplay on youtube seemed soooo boring . Almost skipped playing it. Actually playing the game on large TV screen w/home theater speakers was totally different experience in my opinion. Immersive. It is addictive if you like Rpg shooters (not Doom style, more like Deus Ex, Soma).

One of the few games that gives me motion sickness unfortunately.

Prey is such a great game and the skills are so intelligent they way their done. Buying into the super-powers make the nightmare be able to sense and hunt you more often and turrets become hostile. Where as staying human turrets are so helpful. But the nightmare remains a real threat and running from one was so freaking scary and fun. Anyone who hasn't played it can usually find it on sale, and that first playthrough is a real treat. Add to that new game plus and you have all the incentive for multiple playthroughs.
