Hey Brain! I hope that your shoulder is healing properly. I am wondering if maybe a spray type clean product has been seeping down into the cold valve and has caused a build up and that corrosion inside that is making it turn hard? Be careful of your shoulder!

Thank you Richard. The shoulder seems to be healing well. Will find out on Monday. I will have to ask my wife that question. Really weird ur is only that one. I do have some time to call and chat with pfister about it.

I redid my sister in laws Moen cartridge put lots of silicone grease and it was so slippery it would slowly sink down and shut itself off. she thought something was wrong with it I told her it is new energy saver model LOL it stopped doing it after a while and worked like normal. Project farm liked the old liquid wrench i just can't see paying the million dollars a can for pb blaster

Lol. I have been there. You should try a slight bend in the center piece of the cartridge. The will stop the falling as well.

So glad I found your video, thank you. Let me tell you, I have this exact faucet and BOTH sides are leaky so I want to replace both cartridges. I cannot, for the life of me, get either handle off and I suspect I'm going to find the same as you did once I do - whether I take a sledgehammer to it in frustration or not! I did not disassemble the whole unit but it looks like I'm going to have to. Underneath mine, though, is a rusty mess. We like the design so I was going to try to work with this thing but I don't know if it's worth giving up this much of my life! I have never seen anything so insanely tight in my life!

I have the exact same faucet and followed your steps except removing the entire cartridge assembly out. I was lucky to spin the top cover off to do the repair. In hindsight, here is what may work even without taking anything off. Spray calcium lime rust (CLR, I diluted it to 1:1) around the handle lever base, you will see small bubble around it where it got seized. Spray, let it sit, repeat, wipe off until you feel satisfied with the improvement. Then spray some silicone grease around the same area (WD40 works). Wipe off. Viola, works like a charm!

I feet your pain........I have to take off my Moen faucet handles every 6 months and dunk it all in CLR (It really makes it feel like new) for about an hour. Hard water in Sugar Land, TX. Need to get a water softner.

@@ThatFixItGuy The inards looked just like my faucet handles.....CLR will eat that crud up. I clean it with a used toothbrush. The faucets turn with your pinky.

I've got a moen handle that is super stiff like that... was thinking about taking it apart. Doesn't seem worth it now haha.

was the handle assembly a press fit? What was the blue goo on the inside? WT on the sprayfoam..... some times....

crazy the stuff you find! I had that same faucet in my old house.. pfister right? I actually popped out that screen with a pick. next time you shut off the water to the house it'll probably get blocked. silly design and took me a little bit to find the problem. nevertheless nice fix! I need to get a strap wrench sometime

did not explain how to separate the handle with its seat. I had the same problem. Removing and installing the retaining rings need special tool!

i have the same problem. cold water side was stiff on same brand. i swapped out the cold side stem. put everything back together and i get no hot or cold water flow(i didnt do anything to hot side). so i pull cold stem out to see if water comes out and it does, but when everything is assembled, i only get a drip from the faucet. what is going on?
