I cannot understand how Lewis does not have more subscribers, he is brilliant with his interviews, and a lovely bloke. He certainly researches his subject matter.❤️
Just found this interview, after recently subscribing to Lewis's channel. Absolutely brilliant conversation. Everything Darren says, I totally agree. Bless you Darren, for your passion about such important, vital issues, and putting yourself in the firing line of the loons 😒 Thank you both. ❤❤
Details are critical. ANY religion or denomination that considers gay people etc, etc as sinful and an abomination are NOT worthy of respect ergo priests and pastors/religious officials are completely unsuitable people to offer therapy or advice on matters of sexuality and should be banned from doing such. Religious officials all have AXES TO GRIND when it comes to sexual minorities and that is a FACT! Independent therapists are I think legitimate and far better equipped to give a birdseye or helicopter view of the issues at stake. Clearly, there are extremely critical and important protective issues at stake with children regarding the entire trans issue. And these issues MUST be discussed and should be very rigorously discussed and debated too within a therapeutic relationship if considered therapeutically helpful. From a spiritual or religious perspective when it comes to matters of sexuality or indeed anything that one finds perplexing do you really want an INTERMEDIARY between you and the Divine/G-d/Yahweh/Allah, etc, etc claiming or pretending to speak for that Divinity and give guidance? My response is a very unequivocal NO! In short YES to the conversations but only with Clinical Professionals or Professionals of some kind! Religious Officials are more akin to being SALESMEN or COMPLIANCE OFFICERS than GENUINE THERAPISTS. Let's just be a little HONEST here! If religious officials really wanted to be therapists they would train as such and do that for their careers for G-d's sake! But no they choose a different path one in which they can exert the MAXIMUM POWER and INFLUENCE but WITHOUT ANY ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE CONSEQUENCES OF THEIR ACTIONS!
There are far more people who are in influential and powerful positions, and are intentionally as well as unintentionally causing great harm! Perhaps you should have concerns about those, rather than your obvious personal beef regarding religion 🤔
Isn't it rather DISINGENUOUS and aren't you DISSEMBLING to make this distinctionwhen BOTH are serious concerns for those that give a damn about abuse whether perpetrated by disinterested professional clinicians or religiously motivated "therapists". Ethical and professional standards of practice still apply!
