Just found your channel. Great videos, brings back some great memories. I was born in Key West in 1960. it was a little different back then than it is now. lol. Have spent many days chasing fish and lobsters in the Keys. My uncle Joe lost his life pulling his lobster traps one day in March back in the late 60's. My grandpa ran the supply boat from Key West to Ft. Jefferson for the Park service for a few years. That was back in the late 40s or early 50s. Mom lived at the Fort for those years with grandpa, grandma, her brother who drowned and her sister. the stories if the fish and lobster that thrived in those waters are still in my memories today. I moved from Florida a few years ago to the hills of Tennessee. Was hard to see south Florida ruined by the human crush of overdevelopment. Now I only chase deer and turkeys and traded grouper and snapper for Bass and Crappie. Keep sharing your videos, I enjoy them immensely. Thanks!
Good video, I too thought the lobster segment was hilarious.😂 And Madeleines outfits distracted me. ❤😅 I couldn’t see the lobster, your breasts got in the way. At least that’s all I can remember. 😂
Monday Night with Aaron n Madeline, Awesome ! Great to see you both found time to be together on the water, enjoyed the moments spent with you both this evening !!! Respect your Determination n Perseverance in going after that Grouper, when it didn’t work out y’all went back to the Grocery Store n got some Supper ! Oh Hell Yeah ! Thanks n Take Care !
Holy crap....never seen that done before. Thanks for impressing me...I smiled the whole time! also, loved..."in my defense, i had no fins on!" Best reason/excuse ever! Gonna see ya soon!
That’s footage in the coral head is so cool! Gonna have to try that sauce, also that’s how I do my fish tacos, a lot of meat not a lot of extras. Keep up the good work!
Had my heart skip a beat as it came shooting out of the coral. I can only imagine your reaction as it made off for safer waters! Good to challenge yourself going finless!
Dude those lobsters were like watching an old cartoon or something! I was laughing 🤣. Also, quite frankly you needed that pole spear, no fins challenge because you're one of the best spearfisherman I have ever seen! Another cool ass video!
I loved the snatch lobster cam! Had me cracking up as well. I know how much of a PITA those guys can be to get out of their hole sometimes, so it was quite satisfying watching the "horror show! haha. Great vid as usual Aaron!
Great video as always, can't wait to head down and catch some bugs. It's been years since I've been down there. I'm bringing my kids to try and catch some for the first time.
Hey Aaron another great video. As far as dispatching lobster efficiently, if you turn one belly side up there is a spot in the middle of where the legs attach to the carapace that is the off button. A rounded small piece of 3/8th inch metal dowl is perfect for this technique. If you ever watch the bahamian commercial lobster divers they use this technique very much worth learning.
The no fin approach is obviously a challenge for yourself which was cool to see. Even cooler that you kept with it even when seeing that fish and knowing you might lose him........ great video, keep em coming
I don't eat lobster, or any kind of fish or seafood without fins and scales, but I have to admit it looked delicious. Madeline seems like a lot of fun! What a life!
great video what a life you guys have ! looks really delicious and was fun to watch, I'm making my way through your collection of KWW vids... tremendous... Stay safe
Man, down there we found an old crashed airplane. Talk about a lobster bonanza! There was lobster antennae stickin out of everything. We limited out in just a few minutes. Oh as for fins, I always keep an extra pair and a mask in the boat, just in case I have an emergency and need to go down to fix something or free up an anchor.
Such a good point about the snare vs tickle / net . Some holes and ledges work better with a net and stick while other situations work great with snare !
@@KeyWestWaterman couldn’t agree more! I’ll be down there this weekend fishing. Hopefully plan A or B works and I don’t end up at plan Z. Maybe we’ll bump into you guys on the water!
Great video Dibs! That video on the lobster snagging was so cool. Have you ever seen the lobster net that Brook Crist Outdoors makes and sells. They seem good but wondering what someone who uses something different thinks. That meal was ‘da bomb. Yummy. But understand, I’m from Nova Scotia, so our lobster are very different, we eat the bodies and legs.
The green snare of death is the ONLY way to lobster 😂. My go pro slipped into warp mode and I basically lost 20 dives worth of lobstering footage and a 24" red grouper shot a few weeks back in Marathon. Trop storm and boat breakage spoiled the remainder of the trip. 😭 Missing that place already, keep the vids coming!
Little trick I use. Before you cut the head loose, cut across the front of the ‘bung’ hole, and if you get it just right, the whole ‘poop shoot’ will come out with the head when you separate it. That way you get inner and outer poop shoot!
another good vid! smoking hot misses KWW, very lucky! we still locked down in sydney, and the current has eased to go out for a deep drop... but we cant!!!
Aaron, another great vid, keep em comin…. Potential future vids; yellow tailing, how to deploy daytime sword bait in the stream also perhaps include your thoughts/ technique for setting hook (with boat, without), gulf side black fin tuna hunt off shrimpers, fishy navy towers in gulf, tilefish and snowy grouper setup and technique, take a veteran fishing, kids 1st offshore experience. That’s all I have for now. Instagator
really do appreciate all the ideas! and you're in luck the next vid goes over all my sword gear, rigs and setting techniques! jotting all those down! thanks again!
If I wasn't so tired from work I'd hop on the boat and get some lobsters just to make that ! Look's amazing diggin the spicy sour cream .. Keep it up bud
Being a Bahamian, watching this is funny. Spearguns are illegal here so all we use are polespears and hawaiian slings. Personal best black grouper is 45lbs on a sling. Although we still get fins
Such great technique stunning video makes me wanna go back and try my own hand at it. The vibes, wakes my instinct I wanna go, setup a playlist with Metallica and Delta Parole and go off into my own world right this moment.
Gonna get down there for a day of fishing with you, maybe some mahi for eating and some Jack for the sport. Love to get into some black tips again! Need to find me a simple 16-18 foot skiff with 30-50 go outboard. Just something to take me to and from the fish. You’re life is inspiring, that’s a huge compliment coming from a cranky old croaker like me! Keep it up you two!!
@@KeyWestWaterman it’s nice I want to start free diving up in Ponce we use tanks. I spent a lot of time down there swordfishing years ago an am a commercial wreck fish captain. I would love to get down there and take a trip. Maybe someday. You have a great attitude towards the fish and growing your future stocks. Appreciate what you do.
From all my limited number of trips down there I didn't realize the water ever got so smooth! 😛 I was going to give you a Thai pepper cucumber dip/sauce recipe, but then you said you don't like mayo😒 This stuff is soooo good, I put that %#\& on everything! Probably be good with sour cream too though.
Key West Waterman Give it a try, you can grind the 1st 3 ingredients into a paste or just blend everything together until smooth. I eat it with tacos, spring rolls, rippled chips, fresh veggies etc. 2-3 hot Thai peppers (small hot ones) 1 Large garlic clove Tsp of salt 3 heaping tbsp of mayo or sour cream. 1 juice of fresh lime 4-5" of cucumber seeds removed(fresh cucumber pickle works too) 1 tbsp of sweetened condensed milk (stores great in freezer, won't freeze solid) Blend until smooth. Chill.
