Hi Glenda, so nice to see you and Cody out and about at JoAnn's. They have some great deals, but some things are still very expensive, like those kits you can get at Temu for half their price... Thanks for another fun outing trip with you and Cody. Love you bunches.
Hi Glenda and Cody! I don't have a Joann near me. I did get some bernat blanket yarn at my local Walmart for $2.59 a skein. Yes I got all I could find. I use it for amigarumi
Buy the loopy yarn on sale and just snip the loops!! Voilà!! Blanket yarn!! I learned that trick several years ago from another person on RU-vid. I can’t remember who.
Thanks for the shopping trip! I was in my Joanne's Saturday and the Bernat Blanket yarn was a door buster at 5.99! I was shocked and surprised and stocked up! I'm sorry it wasn't on sale for Cody 11.99 is a lot! Glenda I love all the rainbow colors just like you! The brighter the better. Y'all have a great day!
Thanks for taking us along. 😊 The Joann's I go to has Mandala yarn but, its on the back wall at the end where the jewelry findings start.🤷🏼♀️ Wishing both of you a wonderful day!🤗💖
So as you were looking at the Bernat Extra Thick, Walmart sells one just like it. My daughter requested it for Christmas last year. I believe I used seven skeins for the body with cream and two or three skeins for the border in medium light gray. It was a very large blanket. It is very awkward to work with. My husband, would sneak & use the blanket during a down time as I made it, and cover up with it. I don’t regret using it and working with it, but I’m not sure I’ll ever do it again. As for the loopy yarn, that product is over 10 years old now. I was very surprised, I remember when it was new. I only just started to use it this past year and it’s actually quite enjoyable. It makes beautifully soft blankets. Maybe a little “wet noodley”, as it doesn’t feel like it has any substance after you get it done. But it’s super soft and very warm. And it doesn’t require any hooks or needles. I have made 3 & have 3-4 to go. 😃
I just love these field trips. It’s sad to see all the empty shelves of fabric. My local Joann is the same way. I always get my fabric there. Glenda, have you thought of showing your projects you do with fabric? In your spare time. 🥹 I would enjoy that. Hi Cody.
Thank you two for taking us along. I started using the big twist value yarn. Not the thick ones. What was the yarn cost wanted? Do you have a P.O. Box address?
@@CodyFromCreativeGrandma I have 4 cakes. 1 I will be frogged. It’s mandala ombre’ Serene. I don’t know if that’s enough for your project. I can send them to the PO Box address for the Jersey Shore, PA if you want them. If not I understand.
Went to local Joann’s. Good yarn buys, however, as they have cut lighting in the store, couldn’t really see it to check it out. Air conditioning was full blast, so it can’t be a money issue. Not a fave store anymore. Order online now.
👋 Glenda and Cory! I agree with you on that loopy yarn. Not for me either. Kinda disappointed with Joann. Still waiting on my last online order acknowledgement that I placed 6 days ago for their Big Twist. Not available in the store either. 😞
I ordered yesterday on line, 10 minutes later they canceled my whole order except 2 skeins due to being unavailable. Still on website today as in stock for shipping......
I don’t like shopping in store at JoAnn. My store is never organized, the prices aren’t clear and they are incredibly short staffed. I will buy online and pick up. They always give you a $5 off a $10 in store purchase the day you pick up. (minus doorbusters and clearance) I usually grab a few skeins of 100% cotton on sale to have on hand for dishcloths. The sale plus the coupon is a big savings!
