Prince - Extralovable (1982 Demo)

This is a track that Prince recorded on 3 April 1982 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California and was left unreleased for 29 years due to heavy themes of sexual abuse in the lyrics, until its eventual rerecording and release as a single in 2011 and as an album track on his final album, 2016's HitnRun: Phase Two.
The track has only been leaked through low quality bootleg cassettes, which i have restored to the best quality I can using AI and my own methods.
The track has also been censored in order to keep the content on my platform safe, but for the people that want a download for both the censored and uncensored version, they are both in my Archive.

never heard it at this slower pace. i guess this pace is the authentic one. the most clear version ever. belongs in prince's top 10 songs of all time.

Thank you! It’s a true travesty that this wasn’t on the “1999” Super Deluxe Set. I’m not in favor of any form of censorship, so I think that it should have been presented as it was. I think that even as taboo as the “rape” line was, this song shows the entire scope of the human psyche: love, sensuality, passion and rage. I think that it’s brilliant and a complete shame that people are so sensitive that they couldn’t just release this masterpiece as it is. But hey, that’s the times where living in. Clown World on steroids! 🙄🤦🏾‍♂️

Oh believe me usually I prefer most of his work uncensored (like Darling Nikki and We Can F***) but the brief mentions in this song and Lust U Always are very uncomfortable to me. I understand that times were different but it’s still really iffy to really discuss that

Great restoration on these tracks! This is one of my favorites from that amazing 82-83 period. I remember getting a copy of this one on a cheap cd back in 1990 and freaking out! 💜

This is the correct speed I believe, it’s the same speed as the 2011 version and the vocals sound like prince rather then Camille 😂, if you aren’t satisfied I have downloads to both the censored & uncensored versions so you can speed it up to your liking.

It's a jam, but your version is too slow. This correct tempo version would've dumped all over "Oh Sheila", and that was THE jam then. Speed this up.

Only ai in this was the splitting of the track into stems and enhancing of the high ends in the vocal, with the drums being recreated with a Linn-drum emulator. Everything else is 100 percent prince’s original demo.
