He had goat ability, but unfortunately, he listened to he’s own hype a little too much

He’s possibly the best I’ve ever seen but he chose to put on a show for the fans. He just used natural ability and head movements for defense and didn’t keep his hands up.

He was good, he was annoying. Honestly I can only make it through this because it's Joseph Vincent. Naseem may be a prince but he's the King of Nauseating.

He had that amazing natural ability to position himself that Locche possesed. His guard was, at his best, simply that you just couldn't hit him; he didn't need anything more than his shoulders and upper arms to deflect punches aimed at his chin.

He was never tested against very good fighter he duck almost every good boxer at that time

Better he got out then for him to have an embarrassing post loss career.

@@scoop2963 You read crap. It's an expression. In English for the dummies, he finished his career at a young age but while he fought he was massively entertaining. He was good value. If you likened his career to a candle, it burned out quickly but was very bright.

His style didn't translate as he got older and his competitors matured. His ego wouldn't let him improve because he already thought he was a goat.

The barrera he should never of took. NAZ had a 4/6 week training camp. The main reason he lost is because he spilt with his trainner

​@@stefanharris659 I see what you mean...from what i no. ...he stopped training consistently when he beat Steve Robinson Naz bcame a champion but He never had a training team That was solely training him Brendan was training other fighters As well as the kids at the ingke gym So lack of training led to him getting caught in many of his fights... Gone was his footwork stopped being mobile... From what I no Brendan didn't expect Naz to beat Kevin Kelley ...they were not on great terms for various reasons Difference in training ideas etc.. Barrea was supposed to fight naz b4 the kevin kelley fight. By 1998 both floyd and pacman were on the scene. In pro boxing 🥊 ...carrear wise you are advised to stay away From hard hitters. I no people that were around nassem as a kid... His power is all natural Same as Mike Tyson Natural power.. Would have had power even without training I watched the naz barrea fight the other day. Naz was not put classes..at all.. That's just a narrative people use. If anything He lost bcause he had a low work rate In the highlight reels u see naz getting hit etc. But he didn't get hit that much in 12 rounds In some rounds barrea didn't even do anything much.. Naseem was moving in the wrong direction. From a southpaw stance. Moving into the right hand. Possibly through lack of training Well fundamentals... Barrea missed a lot of punches Naseem slipped a lot to But was either out of position.. Or just couldn't be bothered to counter... In a rematch he'd have beaten Barrera... He took Marcos best punches and wasnt phased.. Naseem must have one of the best Jaws ever in boxing .. He has never been properly knocked down. Only ever got dropped When he was already off balance Had naseem carried on boxing. He'd have been even more of a legend. We never saw the best of him...

@@stefanharris659I don't think it's ego, the main goal was entertainment, winning without entertaining is not what drives him to box...It also explains that when he got older and couldn't maintain the "entertaining" style due to old age he just quit, instead of adapting and trying to be fundamental because that wouldn't make him unique anymore and thus like any other boxer which means boring. It can be easily misunderstood as ego if you're perspective is imagining you're in their shoes, winning in your case would be the ultimate goal and the goal of many others. But not Naz, guy made a controversial persona worked hard to be creative on his entrances, fight good fighters with lenient terms, no hiding cuz that wouldn't be entertaining.

Everyone I knew growing up in the UK loved the guy despite his arrogance and gamesmanship - it was Eubank that lads were a bit hit and miss about and most were team Benn. I was a fan of both, but more Eubank as even back then I appreciated the boxers that had more strings to their bow than full on bruisers like Nigel. I will add I'm from Yorkshire like Naz, so maybe that played a part in his popularity where I was. I think when it comes to being ultra cocky/mouthy like some fighters are, you've gotta be likable to get away with it. Naz did, as behind the bravado and disrespect for his competition he was still someone that seemed witty, genuine, and honest whereas current fighters like Fury doesn't as he's not very likable, seems disingenuous and doesn't have the talent to back his boasting up. Fury is definitely the most unpopular British champion at any weight I can ever remember, yet he's got a lot in common with Naz. Just shows you need a bit of X factor to go with talent and personality I think.

Naseem's infinity punch were amazing ⭐ The kind you only see in anime or video games

Honestly given his knockout power and his many punching angles, I'm not surprised his hands couldn't hold up much longer. After all, the hands are some of the easiest bones to break

@@xavierjuno4572 so true....! thinking back to his training footage on the bag I saw many years back blew my mind. The sound of the blow echoed in the training facility. It was fast and seemed effortless. No wind up, no huge muscles required. No leaning in or overcommitting. I had never seen a small fighter strike like that. If you train you know the sonic snap of a proper strike on the heavy bag. That reel of Naz at 5'3 changed my perception of what a smaller fighter could do. It might've been the first time it clicked that speed.....speed kills; how a fighter can use physics to make up for mass by delivering with increased velocity. Seeing/ hearing the crack of 'whap whap whap' that concussed his opponents gray matter was a thing of beauty 😍

Hamed was at his very best whenhe was at the Wincobank gym with Brendan Ingle as his coach. When Hamed boxed with that unorthodox Wincobank boxing technique, hands down, loose and relaxed, confident and cocky, arrogant even! The minute that Emanuel Stewart started coaching him, and changed Hamed into a more orthodox boxer.....that's when he declined.

Wow you saw it live. I’m 26 and rewatched that fight multiple times because of how crazy and exciting it was. I could imagine those were the days
