PC defending the nuzlocker he's critiquing is honestly great. Something I truly appreciate. PC is one of the main reasons I not only got back into Pokemon but I'm nuzlocking Pokemon FireRed (because I've played it 100 times)

It's his first Nuzlocke, guys," made me feel a lot better about my own first Nuzlocke, where I played with the most lenient rules possible and often super-safe in _Pokémon Y_ of all games, which had two main results: (1) I only lost two Pokémon in my entire run, both before the first gym because I wanted to catch a Dunsparce but couldn't due to Rollout, and (2) I now know that I can do much harder Nuzlockes.

Tbh he didn't know about some mechanics/strategies but I much prefer someone being overly safe than someone being too cavalier and losing a ton of Pokemon, so good on him. Also the fact that he did this in one sitting without making tons of blunders at the end is pretty impressive, I would be pretty fatigued after 10 hours lol

This may sound sappy but the level of respect you give to people makes me want to try nuzlocking again. I tried one years ago when sun and moon came out but I wasn't super confidant so I gave myself more lenient rules for my first run. Dupe clause, item usage, grinding, locking up tips before starting the bigger battles. I had gotten a fair ways in (I stopped just after reaching the top of Mount Hokulani), but ended up abandoning it because whenever I told people about it, in real life and online, I would be made fun of. I was told I was cheating, that it wasn't a real nuzlock, and that I'd never get good enough to do a "real" Nuzlock. The comments got to me after a while so I just stopped. I don't have that save file any more sadly, but I still have the game. Maybe I can try again now, and use the tips I've learned from you! ^^

A slightly less punishing rule I sometimes suggest is 1 item per Gym leader / Elite 4 member. You still have to do most of the game without items and can't stall by just healing until things drop dead, but you don't scare people away by saying they can't use any items. It's a decent step into the harder side of nuzlockes
