Lord of Mann, such an interesting title, especially seeing as even Queens are styled "Lord". Beautiful ceremony :) Anyone able to answer me.... if i am English for living in England and an American is American for living in the US... what's the adjective for someone coming from the Isle of Mann?
Is very hard to be a King/Queen of a country! The job is awful and very hard. Good luck to them! Takes a lot of energy, strength, empathy, compassion, sacrifice, good understanding with plenty of tolerance, good health condition beyond anything else, charm too♡♧☆ Anyhow, King CHARLES III is not "A Lord of Mann!", only MIGHTY Jesus Christ is The Lord of Mann!
The Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man, currently Sir John Lorimer, is the King's representative on the island. He basically deputises for the King in all of his official duties as Lord of Mann, signing new laws and such, in the same way that countries like Canada and Australia have a Governor-General. The Tynwald is the Manx government. The upper house is the Legislative Council. The lower house is the House of Keys. The President of Tynwald, currently Laurence Skelly, acts as the presiding officer (speaker) of the upper house, or when both houses sit together. The closest UK equivalent would be the Lord Speaker. The Chief Minister, currently Alfred Cannan, is the elected head of government. The UK equivalent would be the Prime Minister.
@@TheMoonRover So you have Sir John the Lieutenant Governor reading out the proclamation, accompanied by Mr. Skelly (in his ceremonial vesture) and Mr. Cannan, guarded by a Naval Person with a serious sword, and two (JOKE FOLLOWS) real estate agents (END JOKE), one of whom has a serious number of earned military awards.
Disney could not have done better. If the Firm's Royals are ever dismissed by Parlement, Disney World will welcome them with open arms and a large bank account.
@@MouYijian her rank is sergeant yes, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t an air cadet as air cadet is not a rank it’s a branch of the raf that trains kids in aviation studies, drill discipline etc
the error here's in thinking the Isle of Man is part of the United Kingdom - *it's not.* the UK is responsible for Manx external affairs, so diplomacy and defence, but _all domestic matters_ are governed by the Manx government and overseen by the Manx parliament, the Tynwald.
@@nooneatall6914 what, the guy who found out his mother was descended from the 15th-century King of Mann? hate to break it to him but - if he had to look that far back *and through his mother's line* for a connection to the Lords of Mann, that means his claim is significantly weaker than - the Dukes of Atholl, who inherited the title from the last Derby Lord of Mann in the early 18th century, _who themselves have no chance_ because - the Duchess of Atholl sold her title of Lord of Mann back to the British monarch in 1765. no wonder the Manx looked at this guy like a weirdo when he tried taking his claim seriously.
@@rin_etoware_2989 Does Rightful Entitlement have a time span now? Because if it does, then are you really attempting to say, by your own chain of reasoning, that your own King has no right to his own Throne, because his claim to it lies in the 17th Century with his 50 times removed German ancestor Sophia of Hanover? Or perhaps he has no claim to it because the dearly departed harlot spread her legs for old Porchey 4 times instead of once...if the rumours are actually true. Divine Right legitimately begotten by blood cannot be bought or sold. It cannot be bartered, ransomed or conditioned. A piece of paper cannot absolve it. It is granted by Almighty God alone, and only death can release the Rightful claimant. The Throne of Mann belongs no foreign Monarch - British, German or otherwise, be they legitimate or a Prince of the wrong side of the sheet. It belongs to no foreign Duke. It doesn't care whether you, I or anyone else likes it or not. David I is The King of Mann.
I have a similar feeling every time I hear 'Hail to the Chief' being played every time the POTUS sticks his head out the White House. I think US football kit looks ridiculous.
