Choosing the perfect EDC pocket folder or bushcraft knife is sometimes daunting, especially if it is your first edc knife. Luckily we have Austin Martin, a US Army Veteran together with ‪@CURRIN1776‬ an avid outdoorsman to discuss everything about knives. From blade grinds, blade steel and market price, to blade care and legalities associated with opening mechanisms, these two blade enthusiasts discuss all the things you should consider when buying your first ever pocket folder or fixed blade knife.
Knives featured are from TOPS Knives, Kershaw, Spyderco, Fox Knives, LT Wright Knives, CIVIVI, Tactica, Malone, WESN and more.

I agree that Kershaw blur is a great work knife I am 60 years old I've always had a job to where I carried a knife I always slip joint just got into the modern knives here in the last couple of years I don't know how many case trappers or sodbusters I went through I had to relearn how to sharpen with these new knives but I completely agree with you the Ken onion blur is the ultimate work knife I have been carrying one for over a year I have basically sharpened the recurve out of it I don't know how many of those old slip joint case knives I sharpened until it was almost nothing left I don't know why they don't make a knife is easy to sharpen in a modern style just any kind of cheap Stone will sharpen one of those old case knives dishearten at 14 1428 CN or whatever it is that is in that Kershaw diamond Stone to be efficient and I have one made out of a s35vn made by a small company in Houston that will sharpen like a razor

I found a blur in 7-11 parking lot in the box and it turned out to be one of the coolest knives I’ve ever had. Now I have 4.

Spyderco tenacious has always been 50 bucks great video and shout out to the tru edc man the outdoorsman great knowledge of knife use and blade profiles. No disrespect to the military fellow thanks for your service. Most serviceman could get away with a full serrated blade spyderco para2 or 3 with the spyder edge.

Saludos. Excelente programa

for both fixed and folding, the number 1 thing for me is that it is comfortable in my hand, and large enough to be secure when I use it. ( I have sasquatch hands ) so for #2 blade shape, that suits the tasks I am most likely to encounter. for fixed that means something capable of processing wood, and game. for folders something that is sturdy, but slicey. #3 ease of carry. something that is a pain to carry, draw, and replace is something I will just leave home.

Once you get used to a knife though that you can open and close with one hand you can never go back to carrying a slip joint even though company like fox makes a beautiful slip joint
