Catholic Community Services has always seemed to be a great organization. I doubt it's an accountability issue. I've been around for 40+ years, and it seems like they have, too .
I used to go without food as a kid. Then when it was available I would eat as much as I could. I was the chunkiest kid in class but skinny compared to today's standards. Maybe that's what they do or maybe it's the low quality food they get from school lunch and these programs.
It is a known fact that some people are born thick. Thick bones and thick bodies. They don't eat anymore than many of the kids that are regular sized or eat anymore than the skinny kids. Sometimes they have a very slow metabolism. I have a slow metabolism and a slow pulse rate. Most of the time I eat two meals a day and they are not big meals but I am still overweight.
Aren’t PARENTS responsible for feeding their children? I really dislike it when any “program” talks of children as though they are separate from anyone being their guardians.
Can you imagine buying a boat without having enough money to store it, haul it, fuel it, or insure it? Then why are these parents continuing to have kids they can't afford either?!
