Project Highrise is an indie tower-construction and management sim, developed SomaSim and published by Kasedo Games which harkens back to the days of Sim Tower. You'll be tasked to manage the fluctuating moods of your tenants as they navigate a fluctuating economy while working or living, or even shopping at your majestic tower!
You are the ever present manager, tasked with a multitude of goals through the many and varied scenarios, or given free reign to shape the tower of your dreams in the sandbox mode. Build a tower up from scratch, or take charge of a failing highrise and attempt to bring it back from the brink with your expert managerial skills!

I would have absolutely no qualms with this turning into an extended/regular series. Though I can see views dropping down once this tower is 'finished' since a secondary tower would be "more of the same". Personal preference is longer episodes - but 25~35 min ones tend to agree with the majority audience. I think people should just wrap their heads around the fact that if you get back to a video later RU-vid generally remembers where you stopped watching and when that fails you can make a bookmark at a specific time. But sadly the majority of people out there just isn't tech-savvy and do not comprehend the possibilities. 15 min episodes would just be annoyingly short. It works for some games, but definitely not for something like this. On the whole I think that the way you deal with most series - especially content from streams - you're generally right in how you cut things as is. And holy housecleaning - this game needs a bigger housecleaning service with how many you have already.

Aw, I can relate so much! The first time I ever went to England for my studies, I remember sleeping on the train and waking up to see incredibly long rows of houses, all of them looking identical. Must have been at least a 100 houses or more. It felt like a fever dream. I've never before then seen identical houses placed next to each other, especially not that many. It looked so very creepy and unpleasant.

Honestly Aavak, I am the kind of person who would sit down and watch a playlist of 2-3 hour long videos, so long as the commentary and gameplay is even quality all the way through I will watch it~

I'm easy to please. Anything between 20 and 60 minutes is my light preference. I'll still watch anything outside of those bounds without complaining. Thank you for everything you do.

I have no issues with this series becoming extended, or a full on series. I'm loving it so far, and will be buying it once I can :D For video length, I've always found that 25-30 minutes is a solid length time for games where there's no level or no real official stopping point. Anything longer is completely fine for me, however sometimes people don't have the time to watch the whole video, and will probably turn some people away if they know they don't have the time. Personally though I have a lot of interest in this series, so slightly longer episodes don't mind me at all

The current length feels about right. The game is quite slow-paced, and 20m videos might well not actually achieve anything!

This was the perfect length. Maybe a little bit longer but not much. What I'd like to see is more cute ferret videos please. They make me smile and everyone needs a daily dose of cute adorable cuddly ness. Thanks for all your videos they rock!

My personal preference for videos is 30 mins to an hour. For this specific game, 30 to 40 mins seems about right. Anything less and not much would get done. Anything more and it might begin to feel like it's dragging on.

I'm happy with longer videos, or even your current length is fine. It's pretty easy for the viewer to make the video shorter, just watch it in 15 minute chunks. It's a bit more difficult for us to make it longer though.

Personal opinion is that should be longer videos, especially with something like this because otherwise not enough would get done. (in my mind) but would also love to see this series continue to game release, at least. Am really enjoying it.

20+ Minutes is my prefered length. Sit back, put the feet on the table and enjoy. For that matter: having this series in a playlist would even be better ;-P Edit: The apartements did not need phone.

I like the idea of the "cellar" being messy as heck, It's like everyone does so much work keeping the public areas tidy and not bother about the storage places at all, like in real life! :D

I discovered a way to place services etc for best effect, cafes etc benefit from "regular" customers. services etc placed with a shop en route that is open at the beginning or end of shift often become these regulars. for example Laundromat employees who pass by multiple cafes as they putter about may be able to be regulars at multiple places. more regulars means you can increase rent etc on each affected shop. cafes can pay as much as 400, especially my one nrxt to the train between it and the elevator which pulls 1500 a day

I personally much prefer longer episodes as if i don't want to watch it all now i just pause it and resume it later, it also means that i can just sit and watch an entire series without switching videos every 15 minutes. it also means they are more productive as you are not worrying about time limits or in need of cutting the episode short.

30 mins is great, but the odd 60 min is a nice surprise. You can always pause a long video and come back to it later if you are worried about time

That 3500 to 6000 tile upgrade you bought is the total amount of building you are allowed to have. It doesn't appear to change the size of the area you can build in. With that restriction, you could have about 95 full-width floors, up from 50.

I don't mind how long the episodes are if they're over 30 minutes I normally just chuck headphones on and listen to it while doing something else I'm not sure if my opinion is shared all around keep up the great work!

I prefer around this length, especially with a "first taste". If you do make it into a series it should still be around this length in my opinion though. The only thing I would ask is that you try and get into a routine of checking for maintenance at the beginning of every day, i.e. when you get the money at the start :P

30 to 40 minute videos are about right for me. I'd say in general though 30-35 is a good target. It's short enough that it doesn't feel like a waste of bandwidth to close youtube and reload later if I can't finish the video, but long enough for an episode with enough content to be interesting. If people really desire 15-20 minute episodes, one possibility would be to upload them in halves, for example Episode 8 A and Episode 8 B, at the same time. Have your greeting in the A episode, a simple cut at an opportune moment, then the sign off at the end of the B episode. It would stop the shorter episodes from feeling chopped up by the front and back matter (sorry, not a video producer so I'm using report/essay terms haha), but allow easy loading for those who prefer a quick to watch video.

Hi Aavak. I think 20-30 minutes episodes is best, given that you can't easily bookmark an episode at a specific time to go back to it later. Shorter episodes is easier to take the time to watch given that most people also have other things to do :)

I'm loving this series. :) As for length of episodes, I prefer vids to be at least 20 min long, with between 20-40 min being just fine with me. I imagine it also depends a bit on the game, though, since with some games you can get a lot done in a shorter period of time.

personally i think 30m is the perfect length for a game like this as it's long enough so you can get something done in the episode but not so long that viewers need to set time aside for a whole episode. That's just my opinion though, you do you whatever you think is best for the channel if fine by me man.

It's to my knowledge that longer videos are better in terms of youtube paying, because the longer people watch the video, the more time they spend watching adds, although people need to watch all the video. So in this line of thinking someone in the video of yesterday pointed out that two videos of 15 mins released at the same time a video x and x.2 will be better because people will watch the hole videos in one sit wich is better for Aavak (youtube as a work wise) and the people that like videos longer can watch the 30 mins worth of video.

@Aavak I personally like 20-30 minute episodes in general for RU-vid, but I would suggest that the first episode of a First Taste should be near/at 15 minutes if possible to encourage viewers to check-out the mini-series. I know in the paste your shorter First Taste videos have gotten me to check out a series I would otherwise ignore.

I like the length of the videos now. Short videos seem choppy and ill planned. Long videos are hard to watch due to having ...you know... a life to manage. But a half an hour seems long enough to be interesting, but short enough to fill a few minutes while I have a cup of tea and a sandwich.

Aye, the 20 - 30 minute range is where I aim for. At 20 minutes I begin looking for a natural place to wrap things up, but by 30 minutes I start looking for anywhere to wrap up. Though, that's assuming I don't get sucked in and miss the timer xD

Personally, I prefer more overall content regardless of length, but a good compromise between the different opinions might be to turn it into a regular series, keep the episode length to between 25 and 30 min, and produce more content per day. That keeps the length manageable while satisfying the people who want more. Also, I feel the same way when I see too much sameness, I know exactly what you mean.
