Hey Buddy, i just have done the whole change yesterday and just want to say thanks again, for your good how-to-video. I only needed three new screws (they need to be a bit longer) to connect the Part of the Handbreak with the old holes. The new part is a bit thicker. And I also cut of the Area for the Airbag modul, from the new Part and placed it at the original Place. But it works totally fine. All the best from Germany.
Awesome upgrade!! I also attempted a difficult upgrade on my 07 s40 stock crap radio. I upgraded to a 6-dic CD radio w/AUX, premium sound w/amp. A lot of work but the worst part was about $680 for a dealer reload shafting!!!😨 Well it works and sounds good.

How much is the car driven? :o The passenger seat looks terrifying when compared to mine or my sisters (non-leather seats) 230k km and 350k km driven S40's or to my parent's 360k km driven leather seats in their mk3 V70. Not that it matters anymore tho as you already dismantled it :( but just wondering..
This car had about 185k miles on it. Volvo stopped using real leather in their cars around 2008. So the pleather wore differently than the leather they previously used. With either material, it's vital to take care of it on almost a weekly basis to keep it looking good.
I do think that the 2008 console is a lot better and that brings a question to my mind: Wouldn't it be better to buy a 2008 or later V50 instead of the pre facelift models?
It's usually better to buy the newest model that you can. But when it comes to the T5 AWD M66 market with V50s, you take what you can get. Took me 2 years of searching before I found my 2006 and I only saw 3 other T5 AWD M66s in that time, all high mileage and in rough condition.

I have the console but i don't have the hand brake (easy to find only the hand brake) , my question : there is any way i can install the new handbrake whitout cutting that big part(i don't have it either, and it would be hard to find) ? make something from the old and new idk ....
The 12V socket is right there in the same spot. The FM transmitter is plugged into it. On facelift interiors the STC/DSTC is controlled via the menu with the turn signal stalk. But this car did not have any forms of traction control, so I did not need to worry about it. You could always get the C70 roof switch button that fits in the front cubby of the facelift center console and rewire it to be the STC switch.
Hello. Just a quick question, is it really necessary to have the new handbreak sensorcable as well? Or is it also possible to go with the old one? I finally have all parts collected, except the sensorcable. 😕 Best regards from Germany.
The taillights will fit and work, but they are about 1 inch shorter along the bumper. So you will either need to fill that gap between the light and bumper, or also get a 2008+ bumper.
I don't believe that you have to remove the heater core, you should be able to route under them. Though when I did remove the shifter linkages, the entire interior was stripped out, making it fairly easy access.
It's advisable to get a new cable to run from the hand brake to the connection point with the other cables. You don't need new cables running all the way to the rear calipers. However, I was able to reuse the original cable and adjust it accordingly. Just be careful when disconnecting it. Once it lacks tension, it can easily fall off the connection point with the other cables and will require crawling under the car to reconnect it.

@@DwFeeLThEScReAmO I think they have a different part number (I could be wrong), but they're almost the exact same length (only a few millimeters difference, which may have just been because of age) which is easily corrected by just using the handbrake adjustment screws.
That is not common. Does it acknowledge the CDs and just fail to read them, or not acknowledging CDs either? I would guess something is wrong with the CD player unit itself.
hey, i can insert a cd, it tries to read it and ejects it again. same with every cd . i just stopped reading a cd mid song and now doesn't like playing cds. i can listen to the radio
Sounds like a problem with the CD player itself. You can buy a used replacement on ebay to swap in and test. Just make sure it's for the same sound system that you have. I think the part number is on the CD player itself, but I could be wrong.
@@coldwarmachine I know this is a two year old comment, but the problem is likely the laser diode that shines on the disc. If you know someone who is good with electronics repair the unit can be dismantled and a new diode installed. Part is only a few bucks but labor would be a couple hours best guess.

My V50 was one of the few that did not come with any form of traction control, so there was no button to be swapped over. Also, on 2008+, the DSTC is disabled using the scroll wheel on the turn signal stalk. So you will have to wire up your own button if your car already has DSTC or STC on the center console.
