Quick update: Renewed Vision has said if you currently have ProPresenter+, you can use whatever version is available to you at expiration forever without a watermark. This means if you subscribe and then cancel, you can go BACK to that version.
Great vid! I do want to confirm that all existing licenses will continue to work no matter what. Even if someone migrates to a subscription and then cancels. They’d just revert back to whatever version they had. But I’ll definitely take a look at the copy and see how we can better clarify that! -RV staff
Surprised? No. Disappointment? Yes. ProPresenter is an elite software with so much potential. It enables reliable church presentation that just works. However, what is the statistic...68% of churches in America are less than 100 people. So yes, even a few bucks increase (on an already premium price tag) is limiting for many churches. It would seem to make more sense to have a tier system where small churches can still use the software but with limited features. Likely most churches barely scratch the surface of the full capabilities and would not be inconvenienced to pay less money for less features that aren't being used anyway. Then the larger churches that want to utilize all the amazing features but can also afford to pay more for the features. A church of 100 is paying the same amount as a church of 5000 but it figures out to be $2.89 per person person per year vs less than .05 cents per person per year.
Plus their multi deat plan is 20 seats for double the cost of single seat. I do hope they do a lite version for a congregation like mine with under 100 on Sundays. They have 2 years to get that right, since everyone with Pro+ is locked in for 2 years with no price increase in that span.
We are less than 100. Will stay with Propresenter 6. We barely use any of the added features. A song every once and a while. The KJV bible with the lower thirds. A few announcements. That's about it
Thank you for the video. This has been very helpful. Unfortunately, the pricing is going to price smaller organizations out. This is really a shame even as I respect RenewedVision for doing whatever makes them more profitable. Renting instead of buying... *sigh*
We're setting up a new system. We have been using OpenLP with a projector but are looking to add multiple video screens with multiple functions (main, stage, remote nursery). We need a more robust software package and were considering ProPresenter. Then, we found FreeShow, but weren't sure if it would be adequate. Well, I hope it is because ProPresenter is just too expensive for our small church.
Reading through some Facebook comments, it is clear our “we won’t raise your price for at least two years” commitment has been misunderstood to be “we are raising your price to $289 in two years.” This is not the case. Our intent is to honor those who were ProPresenter+ customers by making this transition as seamless as possible, thus charging you the exact same amount as you were already planning to pay for a year of upgrades and support. At some point in the future this price may increase, but our intention is that it be a nominal increase.
I watched the video in the email and was honestly frustrated that their answer to "listening to their customers" was to increase the price and remove ownership of the product if you cancel your monthly.
We bought PoPresenter 7 in March of this year. Will we have to pay for the following subscriptions after two years? If so, I'm seriously thinking about switching to FreeShow.
But they've also removed this line from their website altogether at this point, and they've told me they don't WANT to raise the prices. Time will tell!
@@PaulClifford We bought PP7 thinking that by buying the license, we could continue working, still finishing the year of support, working and that's it, that was the idea. Although it seems like a joke $189 is still extremely expensive here in southern Mexico and multiplies by the years of subscription uff, the multimedia brothers were saving to buy the $399 license, now RV come out with this. Maybe RV should think better for their customers, like us a small church, who I don't think we get to use about 20% of their product; we don't use stage, not time and other functions that are powerful, only presentation, lyrics, bible and funds. PP7 is one of the best tools I discovered, until then, but this sudden change to this subscription is drastic for us, I think it would have been better to apply it for a new version such as PP8 or PP that is the official one. Maybe I'm not fully understanding it. What happens if I stay at version 7.16? Will I have to join the subscription anyway after two years? But in the end I recognize that ProPresenter is an excellent product, the price is what does not fit for everyone.
