I lived in Palm Springs for 8 years and your con about the small town vibe was the biggest PRO for me! There was everything I wanted and needed there. And when I craved excitement for a couple of days I'd just head over to Las Vegas. Really loved living there and hope to return when I retire in the next couple of years.

I like how you did a pro/con list to this video. It gives people the 411 on what it is really like to live in the area. Living in the Canadian Rockies myself, people always say, "Oh it must be nice to live somewhere so beautiful!", but it does get COLD folks! No mountain hiking when it's -35! Also, congrats on your upcoming arrival of pitter patter of little feet, time to break out the cigars!

See if we were to buy a second home I would buy in a place like the Canadian Rockies because I love the greenery. Thanks for the video! Very informative. I would never be able to live in a place like that though. Mandatory AC to survive and golf courses in the desert seems like a sustainability nightmare.

Great video honest video I lived there for 10 years. I survived by going to LA and San Diego in the summer it's way to hot Florida at least gets showers. Summer is totally boring there Winter is heaven on earth. Good people another plus.

Tommy you do excellent videos. I compared the summers to Florida but I actually moved to New Orleans and purchased an old Shotgun house so much fun fixing it up and the food here OMG Keep putting out great videos. All my best to u and ur family.

My only concern is excessive summer heat, I prefer milder summers. I do despise traffic though.

I would definitely suggest visiting in the summer if you are thinking about living here full time because it does get hot!!

Thank you! When hubby retires trying to decide between phoenix or palm springs. live in LA but need out ....hmm can't be too far from the beach but phoenix cities have a lot to offer and seems easy to get around... Being an artist wondering which is the better ART community???? CA or AZ????

Hey guys im not coming from the us. Since i think one year or sth im raving about palm springs its just gives me an atmosphere when i see pictures and videos of the city i cant discribe it. But the thing is everytime when im thinking about living there the earthquakes are making me a little bit frightining. Can someone explain me if the earthquakes are that bad in the palm springs area? @@KatoLaflare The fact that I can get a 2br in a nice complex with the amenities for 1.7k a month?! I was born and raised in Los Angeles and that's unheard of... 1.7k a month would get you a 1br in a decent neighborhood with no parking, no washer and dryer, no pools/jacuzzi, etc.

Hi Tommy! My husband and I vacationed in and fell in love with an Alexander Home and Palm Springs and now I'm fantasizing about moving there from the Bay Area. Can you let me know, what's the process like looking for an Alexander Home? How often do they come on the market? How competitive is it? What type of price ranges are we looking at? We'd love something habitable but in need of some updating but nothing too major. Thanks!

"Income and Salaries for Palm Desert - The average income of a Palm Desert resident is $39,275 a year. The US average is $28,555 a year. - The Median household income of a Palm Desert resident is $52,053 a year. The US average is $53,482 a year."

I don't like "small towns" and towns that are isolated or far away from other towns. I am from the Phoenix metropolitan area and I love that every city (Phoenix, Gilbert, Scottsdale, Tempe, Chandler, Mesa...) is attached so it feels like a one GIANT city with endless and multiple of every kind of store and restaurant. It looks exactly the same and has the same weather as Palm Desert. Palm Desert appeals to me however because it's liberal/democrat. thank you for the video.

I've never been to Palm Springs or Phoenix, but to me these two are incomparable. I see Phoenix as a regular megalopolis while Palm Springs/ whole Coachella valley more of a holiday/second home/retirement destination well known for it's modernist mid century architecture. Am I wrong?
