She literally was asked one question n later told her entire life story .. this needed to be said she was holding onto it for soo long probably

This poor girl was born to a meth addict mother, molested by her grandparents, witnessed abuse in her home, sent away, shunned by her family then sexually, physically & mentally abused only to be told she needs to seek treatment if she wants to have a relationship with her family. May she find the love & support she needs. I want to hug her so tight ❤

She started with her story and didn't stop. She just wants to talk and it breaks my heart.

Man, they are not her family. Family don't do that. They abandoned that girl. They got rid of her and kept making excuses as to why she couldn't come back in actuality they never wanted her there. This is so sad.

As a Social Worker this really made me remember the saying "If we don't raise our Kids the Street will " She really just needs Love and a good support system.

You can tell the only thing that brings this girl to tears is her family. She has learned to hold her feelings back but is unable to when it comes to them.

Mark, this is the one person you need to find real help for far away from LA. She is a smart, caring person. She is not destroyed by drugs yet. She can be saved. She should be saved. Please, save her.

She just needed to talk it out, glad she got a chance. I have been kidnapped and tortured when I was 16 and when I went to trial of these 3 young men, my mum called me discusting for going into details, as a victim/ witness. I am 44 now and carry these words with me every day, relive the ordeal in nightmares every night since. Sometimes I can wake up somewhat rested… only now finding whats ptsd and why I am the way I am, could fight a tallest man if I see abuse in public, even if I risk being stabbed, and God forbid if somebody is nasty to my kids. Wish I could have talked it out to somebody that wouldnt judged.

The amount of horrible, evil people in this world who ruin children's lives is staggering. I hope she can make it

She didn’t wanna leave the interview, she enjoyed opening up and venting. It hurts cause you can see she’s still going through all of that emotion. I hope she finds her way, you can tell her heart is pure yet bruised.

Her siblings demonizing her for the abuse she suffered in their home and by their hands is sickening. This poor girl.

The interviewer hardly spoke during this interview, she just needed someone to talk to and let all her pain out. She’s only 20 years old and has gone through it all. I hope she finds healing and help.

The fact that she opened up so quickly. She's really alone she really wanted and needed to talk to someone about her life and her story. She's so smart I'm hoping she gets the help that she needs. She's crying for help so bad. She's desperately trying to get up a hill in a car with little gas she just needs to get over that hilltop and realize how good life is. Even tho life is painful it's beautiful. Your body isn't worth $60,000 it's priceless and you have so much worth Selena.

I would love to help guide her to a successful, safe life. She deserves to get off the streets, go to college, law school, become a criminal attorney. I envision so much potential of growth and success for her out of this dark path. I would love to see others like myself believe in her and help women like this get off the streets and use adversity to become the best versions of themselves.

It's a sad thing whenever people feel like they must apologize for crying. There is nothing to apologize for. People owe YOU an apology. So many people.

The awareness this woman holds is a relief. She is smart and aware of her trauma. Keeping Selena in my prayers that she finds her way.

You can tell she’s got such a pure soul, and was so terribly treated. I’m sure she didn’t ever let any law enforcement know what was going on (not like they would help, I’m sure some would but most would have a disregard for someone “prostituting herself”). It’s frustrating that she has to admit what’s happening for any action to be taken in a very clear domestic violence and trafficking case. We all know why victims of abuse don’t speak up. So why does the law allow so many abusers get away with so many disgusting acts of violence? Millions of beautiful people slip through the cracks everyday, and I just hope she can find her way out & peace in this life

I'm a father of a beautiful girl. Seeing 5 minutes of this interview scares the crap out of me. I'm a chef and her mom works at a state hospital and she works with mentally ill people. My daughter says she wants to help people who are sick like her mom does. Her mom didn't even graduate and she makes decent money. There's so many options out there you just gotta look. Life is hard as fack man. Mine aint perfect but it's honest. We all got battles mija it's time to fight the right ones

The fact that she still cared for her mom even though the mom was a monster

There’s no way as a mother I would tell my daughter, “you can’t come back here, we don't know who you are?” My heart is aching for her as a woman and mother of two daughters.

I've watched every single interview, this one right here really made me cry!! I understand what that pain is that she feels I wish I could just hug her and let her know that none of what happened in her childhood should she be sorry for!!

Any idea where she is now? I really hope she's found some peace and stability... Losing your mom is so hard. I relate so much to what she's feeling and my heart really goes out to her

I was on the same path as you. My mom on drugs... dad not around. I was homeless and started dancing. I did it for a few years and started doing dates. I finally found a way out and went to school. I graduate next semester from college ..... it’s one of the hardest things I have ever done but if I can do it so can you! I have faith in you.

It totally amazes me how much she loves her mom, sister, family even though they haven't been there for her or much less return the love, sacrifice, hardships, horrible daily routines she has had to endure. I wish her blessings, if she has a go fund acct. I will donate.

It bothers me greatly that that same family that caused her traumas as a child are telling her she needs help (for what they caused). She’s so aware of what she needs to fix but needs to also realize they were initially apart of the problem. That’s not family...

I felt this, mija. I have 2 daughter’s that have passed away 19&30 yrs old and two older. My ex-husband and a surviving daughter didn’t put me on my daughter’s obituary either. But, I raised them. There’s more to the story. I didn’t deserve anything served me like you don’t, either. Reach out🙏🏼

Just an observation from watching this series: why is our first reaction to apologise when we start crying in front of someone else? I guess we are all taught on some level that being vulnerable is embarrassing or showing weakness. It's sad. Seems like Selena has had almost nobody there to just be nice to her and want nothing in return, even her family. What a brutal way to grow up. Someone give this woman a hug and tell her that she's stronger and more valuable than all the people who took advantage of her.

Girl if you see this DON'T go to any pimps. Get a bank account, go to a women's shelter, get some resources, ask Mark for help! Anything besides going back to these pimps and giving them your money. Put your money in a bank account so you don't always have cash on you that can be taken. Sending you love and healing. ♡

I watched so many of Mark’s videos but this one gets to me. I feel sad and getting watery eyes listening to her. I’m adopted too. But I was lucky. My adopted parents are really good people. I went from foster home to home to finally living in the Palisades in Southern California. My mom alway believing me until I disobey her and got pregnant. She gave me a choice, have an abortion, I wouldn’t do that. Eventually, it got to the point she knows I’m too far alone. Now she wanted me to give my son up for adoption after he is born to one of her wealthy friends or be completely on my own. I refused. She Throw me out at 8 months pregnant. I’ve been on my own since. It’s such a long store. My point is I know it’s hard, I never once thought about prostitution. I just couldn’t nor do I have anyone bad around me. Maybe I’m lucky . God was watching over me. Selena, you are beautiful and sweet. Get out of this business. Don’t let anyone used you. You are worth something. You can do it. Leave those bad guys. Don’t give up. Please!! you don’t need to sell yourself. I’ll be thinking of you.

if her mom didn't abandon her, half this stuff wouldn't have happened to her. These stories are so common, adoption agencies really don't do their job sending ppl to bad homes.

I relate to this girl so much, my mom wasn’t around and my father is an addict and was homeless. I put myself in foster care at 17 and graduated high school. Then, I got kicked out of my foster home and was homeless for a year in la and OC area. I started doing dates and it was the hardest thing in my life and I would take molly and e pills to numb my issues. Now, I live in San Diego and I work as a document specialist at 21 years old and I will be graduating as a Paralegal early next year. Then, I will be eventually applying to law School. I was there before and that shit is horrible. I pray for you Selena. Keep that mentality, don’t ever let no other human control your path. Do the things that you know is good for you and believe in yourself, please believe in that better life on the other side. It will come, I promise❤️

A number of the SWU interviewees have mentioned going to a (behavioural management) boarding school in Utah. Paris Hilton has publicly discussed how the Utah school she attended caused her to develop PTSD. 💔 They may get rid of the unwanted ‘behaviour’ for the time being, but the teen is left with the trauma, pain, shame, low self-esteem and unmet emotional needs.

This is the best one I've seen in ages. What a shame 20 yrs old, she's barely started her life.i really hope she gets the help and it's not just someone trying to get something for themselves. I wish I could help her . Love from Scotland xx

Everyone, and I mean everyone, in this woman’s life failed her. I know there are clear villains in your story, Selena, but there are people who don’t deserve the effort you’re putting into building a relationship back up with. You deserve to be able to live a stable, safe and happy life. I wish you nothing but healing from now on.

I would never abandon my child, no matter how angry or upset I was with what they did. My child is my child and I will always pick them back up and hold them when needed. Period.

She is so intelligent, strong and has such a good heart. I pray she can reconnect with her family. She has so much to offer to this world and is still young enough to make that change.

The best and most freeing thing my therapist ever said to me was "Your mother doesn't love you". Selena- your foster mother didn't love you. The sooner you accept this, the sooner you will be able to process it, realize your worth, and have healthy relationships. She used her foster kids for money and didn't care about your well-being, then she wanted to use you as a caretaker. She manipulated a child's need for a mother to gain a source of income and a servant. That isn't love. Further, your family gaslit you to believe that their neglect was your fault. None of it was ever your fault. You did and DO deserve more. You deserved a mother, but you can mother yourself as you are INCREDIBLY STRONG. You can have your own family someday- I see you being a great mother. You are intelligent- do what you need to do, get a degree (even an associate's) you can use, and start your own family

When you consider how UNDESERVING her mother was of love and loyalty, it shows how we never stop trying to be good sons and daughters. Parenthood is, for humans, is more than biological. Dogs and puppies get separated all the time. As a human, there's no excuse (outside of death) for not taking care of your children.

If your sister is trying to out a life insurance policy on you, it's not because she's worried about you - it's because she wants to profit off your death. What the fuck is wrong with this girl's family.

Sweet lady. Traumatized throughout life by bad people and outcasted by her family drowns her into sorrow. She is a strong woman. Respectable. Despite her misfortune she keeps pushing and holds onto the hope to rekindle her family relationship.
