At the end of Prototype 1 game, Alex mentioned: "the virus copy him down to genetic level". So in this case the "virus" think he the real one and start spreading infection; until the Real Alex recover from the injured he got onthe previous game, and show up to expose the "fake Alex".
I know, but my point is if the audience want to see Alex vs Alex; the producer should make the virus resurrect the real Alex and have him fight the Fake Alex that "copy him down to genetic level".
4:20 Blackwatch soldier 1:Hey guys, check this s**t out! Blackwatch soldier 2:Wow,is that........Mercer?! Blackwatch soldier 1:Yeah,and he's fighting himself! Blackwatch soldier 2:How the f*** is that even possible?! Blackwatch soldier 1:How the f*** should I know?! Blackwatch soldier 3:Would you two shut the Hell up already?! I'm trying to watch the fight! Blackwatch soldier 1:Fine.I vote for Mercer! Blackwatch soldier 3:Really?I want Mercer to win. Blackwatch soldier 2:Wait,what's Mercer doing? Alex:Here--catch! All of them: *OH S**T!!!* *Alex trows the helicopter that they were in* *BOOM*
A better plot : After Heller gets his revenge on Captain Ass-Hat,the real Alex Mercer (Prototype 1) Calls Heller and says "Yo dawg, dem Gentek cloned me and shet. You wanna kick that Emo fuck's ass ?" And Heller is like : "Sure thing, dawg." and then they kick the clone's ass.
lazorize that could be something that could happen, cause in this, his arms are ripped off at the end and he could grow back from that, like at the end of prototype 1
From watching this video, an alternative plot came to mind for 'Prototype 2'. After Alex Mercer manages to eliminate the Blacklight Virus from NYC and save the the city from the warhead in the first game, he, through genetic replication/cloning, mutation of the virus he carries, or some other means, becomes split into two halves: one half being his morally-questionable, cynical anti-hero protagonist self, and the other half a corrupt, heartless, evil Alex Mercer with a messiah-complex who serves as the main antagonist, hell bent on humanity's destruction in favor of creating a new world built on a virus he created & unleashed. Throughout the story, the good Alex must battle evil Alex's virus/evolved forces while working with Dana and James Heller (whose daughter was captured by evil Alex) until finally confronting evil Alex himself. Evil Alex is portrayed as stronger & more ruthless than the good Alex, but with help from Dana, Heller, and his own militia, Alex manages to defeat his evil self. Upon consuming him, Alex manages to eradicate all traces of evil Alex's virus throughout the city and frees Heller's daughter Maya. Heller thanks Alex for saving Maya and apologizes for doubting & blaming him before. Dana and Alex reconcile with their past and forgive one another's involvement in the Blacklight incidents. Once all traces of the virus have cleared, things begin settling down and return to normal in NYC. Gentek and Blackwatch are later investigated & and shut down for their involvement in the Hope, Idaho and NY incident, as well converting the Blacklight virus into a biological weapon. However, what happens to Alex afterwards is a mystery, and left unknown for fans/commenters/viewers to decide. While this plot may or may not be good or make sense enough to be an alternative game, this video of Alex Mercer fighting an evil version of himself seemed pretty interesting for a story.
In a way it the battle between the two mercers can symbolize many different things. On one hand the fight can represent a battle between the old personality of the original Alex who cared about nothing but himself and Blacklight who unlike his father does care for those he is close to. On the other hand if you use the comic book prequel, the evil Mercer as shown can represent an Alex who had seen the dark side of humanity lost in faith it's faith in and was push down into a spiraling pit of evil, meanwhile the good one can represent an Alex (who probably kept in contact with dana) who still kept his faith.
Well after Mercer "died" on the explosion of the nuke in Manhattan, he was reduced to nothing more than the virus that helped him become stronger and when in the last scene of the game itself, you could see the virus crawling out from the ocean and near a crow to sustain it's no host body, and used the crow as it's sustenance to form a new body, and here Mercer is no longer Mercer but the virus that once inhabited Mercer before now has a mind of its own to eliminate the world by infecting them with it's virus
What Mercer's idea was; "Ohh look at me, I'm so powerfull. I'll give these random guys (and girls) powers.Ohhh look james is getting stronger and stronger. I will let him do what he does. Ohh he's fighting with me. Ohhhh that's painful. Ohhh I'm dead :P (now voice from heaven) Ohh look he's cunsuming my body.." imagin that with a snob girl's voice
they didnt even bother getting mercer to transition form an intelligent, subliminally aggressive scientist to an ignorant, deluded idiot. At the end of Prototype, Alex said that he became something more than human, but also something less, showing that he is sophisticated enough to contemplate his actions in a self-critical way. Of course he is frequently lead by his boiling lust for revenge, but that does not transition into him being an idiotic sect leader. I like that they tried to do something different by making alex the villain. But making it different does not equal making it better. They did a shitty, unconvincing job with Alex. Would've been better if they didnt try to fix what wasnt broken and instead had improved upon what story and character development they had from the first game.
Wow..the most epic fighting...(Good)Alex Mercer vs (Evil) Alex Mercer (Good)Alex Mercer come from Prototype 1 to Prototype 2.. But (Good)Alex Mercer win!!!
Wow I think I know why Heller had such a large tendril barrage devastator. It's most likely because of how much mass Mercer had because of how many people he has consumed.
Mercer in the first game : "Wow,I have powers.Better find out how I got them.Oh wait,i'm the virus ?! And I saved New York." Prototype 2 : "Eh,better give my powers to this guy for some reason."
THAT was exactly the mission I was thinking of when I wrote the comment! You can put as much action in a game as you want but in 1st person you just FEEL it And as a limited soldier in a dangerous world against a godlike enemy (Alex or Heller) you develop so many stunning feelings like fear, paranoia or anger (for example if someone of your team dies in front of you prvided had feelings for him) But unfortunately it will be just a dream...for ever.. XD
Should've done like they did with INJUSTICE 2. Two endings. One which Mercer loses, one he wins and consumes Heller. No offence and to be honest, Mercer would've obliterated Heller like swatting a fly. Fucker got into a Nuke's blast radius and survived. Only Superman can do that. And Mercer.
Alex Mercer taunts and even gives advice to Heller during the fight, hmm. Alex didn’t use his shield, Claws, Armor, or Muscle Mass. 🤔. Alex Mercer didn’t try to absorb the flying creature or the infected that were on the ground in the thousands. Alex Mercer wasn’t angry, sad, or upset by being defeated, merely saying “Welcome to the top of the food chain”. No resentment or animosity, almost relief in a way. Then you receive a trophy that states “Murder your maker?”. Why’d they put a question mark in there? Heller cuts off Alex’s arms multiple times, but that can be explained by them being consumed by Hellers final devastator. Though I’m not saying anything, this all could make a very strong case of either two things. One: that Alex secretly wanted to die for any number of reasons and intentionally allowed Heller to win. Or that Alex wanted to be consumed so that eventually he would become himself again, gaining Hellers strong genetic resilience to being consumed and perhaps then having enough strength to go after Pariah.
I bloody agree and I would be lying if I said I hadnt thought about it, I mostly got inspired from that mission in prototype 1 where you take the helicopter and have to do evac's it would be pretty cool if you were one of the marines at that part of the mission where the giant tendrils come out of the ground, and it would be awesome if you had to escape the area but in first person IT WOULD BE AWESOME
Making the character have a family doesn't suddenly make them compelling or sympathetic. There's plenty of villains who have had families. In fact, I'd argue that Alex is more sympathetic because he's a tragic character.
lol we can see that the virus is controlling alex mercerer we can see that alex in prototype 2 has his normal tallness but here he is a giant in front of his old self
When I got Prototype 2 and heard the things Alex was saying in this mission, I just thought "What the fuck did they do to you man?". Seriously, in the first game, he actually hated having these powers because of all the people he had to kill with them, now, he's all "holly holly killings jolly".
This 'Mercer' isn't the real Alex Mercer from Prototype 1. Hell, he doesn't even sound like the real Alex. Alex would never kill his own sister, in order to eradicate humanity. He must obviously be a genetic clone/mutation created from the virus. As seen in the ending from the first game, after the nuke exploded, who's to say that puddle of mass from Alex was the only one there? There could've been another after the real Alex regenerated. That second pile of mass could've regenerated (probably from an infected organism) with all of Alex's memories, but acted on the virus itself while sentient and keeping his form. To spread the virus across and infect humanity once more, 'Mercer' dove into Alex's memories when he (regrettably) released the virus at Penn Station in the first place. Deciding to finish what Alex started, or what he couldn't do, Mercer released the virus again at Penn Station on a much bigger scale, calling itself and being known as the "Mercer Virus". This would be the start of the Heller-Mercer conflict. On a separate, more enjoyable page, while still soul-searching in the world, the real Alex Mercer would get wind or be informed of the outbreak of a new strain of the Blacklight virus in New York. Now being known as "New York Zero" and seeing what this new strain of the virus has done as a result of 'Alex Mercer' being the cause of it, the real Alex would return to New York and battle the forces of the infected, Blackwatch, Gentek, and Mercer's Evolved with aid of his sister Dana, James Heller, Father Guerra, and Sabrina Galloway (maybe) while finding the truth of what happened. At the climax, both Alex and Heller would confront Mercer (the fake/evil Alex) and defeat him, as he would be more powerful than the two. Upon being defeated, Mercer would then be consumed by either Alex or Heller and the one would then release an enormous barrage of tendrils across the city, eliminating all traces of the Mercer Virus. In the end, Heller would reunite with his daughter Maya while Alex would apologize & reconcile with Dana, and all would watch the sunrise as they ponder what is going to happen now.
yeah too bad, but after playing that mission I came up with this idea if you were apart of a squad and you were moving through the buildings taking out the walkers etc. and then after securing the objective you ran out into the oppening as the helicopter came down to evac you and then the hydras pop out of the ground and you just have to run for it
Did anyone remember the glitched field on X box 360 where there were marines and infected but the Marines would ignore you as long as you were in the field other than that tank but if you destroyed the tank they wouldn't notice Alex I spent hours there
I would LOVE to hear Alex's voice actor say the brutal one liners Heller said. It would have made it better. And I'm one of the many rare people who like Heller
Radical Entertainment, the Canadian studio behind Prototype and Scarface: The World Is Yours, has closed. According to Activision, a skeleton team will remain at Radical to support the publisher's "existing projects". However, the team will "cease development" of its own titles. Up to 90 people are reported to have been laid off. "Although we made a substantial investment in the Prototype IP, it did not find a broad commercial audience. Got this from VideoGamer... It's sad.
Some fanboys need to stop obsessing over the villain, if you people had a choice, it would obviously be mercer winning, after that, boom, nothing, no earth, just a giant ball of virus in space.
You know what would be an awesome game? A FIRST PERSON SHOOTER OF PROTOTYPE! Just imagine you were a blackwatch soldier being able to see the world from a completly different view! I mean, flying in helicopters, driving vehicels and fighting against the whole creatures would be so much more action packed! Of course P1 and P2 are awesome but if you are a normal human without special powers...that would be an exciting game...that's what I think.. XD
Yeah, Barry Pepper didn't return for P2. Rumor says it was because of how they handled Alex's character. As for changing the voice, well... that would require effort.
This I say is better because I feel like the skin fits the story Like this Alex Mercer helps Heller and the Evil Mercer kills Heller after he attempts to save his daughter and then the Alex Mercer jumps in and absorbs Heller, using one of his abilities to finally kill his clone
