I wish on the beginning of Prototype 2 where Alex infected Heller and tells he wants to destroy Blackwatch and Gentek, There should be an option to choose to save humanity and kill Alex Mercer or Join Alex Mercer and take over NYZ and Heller will become evil. Just like in Infamous 2 like the Good Karma and Evil Karma
If they ended up making a 3. Mercer should just be back as a part of heller. Taunting him. Being in his head. Since he consumed him. Mercer didn't even care that he died. Maybe because he thinks he can change heller or just mess with him. They'd both become the same person in a body. And you could switch between the two in the game and you'd have all the powers of them both. Too bad radical is disbanded...

A virus doesn't die by being consumed it becomes stronger. Mercer is using heller to become more powerful also heller doesn't get that his fighting a sickness not a person, mercer is a mutated CANCER the real alex mercer died. we have always played as a virus not a person but heller makes it different.

Alex did not use all of his powers in this fight. If he would have used every power heller would have been dead in seconds.
Just sprinting for seconds, not using his muscle mass (of course it would be stronger), no tendrils (the cutscene before battling the Goliath and preventing it to destroy the whitelight), didn't use any devastators, hhhmmm...... I can say Alex really is letting heller win.

Yes, his actions might be cruel. Since...Alex saved New York from nuclear bomb saving millions of uninfected people by experiencing ceaseless pain and dying unaware will he survive or not. Alex turned into next step in evolution and discovered absolutely new symbiosis of humanity and microorganisms. He even tried to release people from Gentek control. Is he really guilty for probably making possible utter humanity to be immortal by sacrificing some amount of people!? Besides Gentek knew about infection outbreak and could even prevent it. Yet the only thing they tried to do, it's to clean traces of their involvement in the incident. That's why he hated Gentek. Sarcastic. Such a smart Human from big H,who created super virus and literally consumed huge amount of information over few years died from hands of crazy newbie with "unique" DNA? Nonsense. I can't stand it. Here's how I think the game ended... Alex looked at Heller just as some dumb mercenary but then Heller proved to be worthy to Alex, Alex infected him with the hope of Heller adapting and learning everything just like Alex. At the last scene, Alex gave up knowing his creation did what he wanted. Alex got tired of all the shit he was doing so he let Heller take his place.
Alex's plan was never to have someone take his place. His plan was simply to ensure that humanity was saved from itself, by turning them all into evolved equals. Since Heller relatively has the same abilities as him, though on a much lesser scale, im pretty sure Heller would realise he too would not fit into human society
David Sinus He meant it by infecting all of them into the Evolved. Since every evolved had similar abilities and weaknesses, no single being can outmatch another, or something in that context
They were most likely planning on making another game (notice the trophy/achievement you get when you finish the game says "Murder your Maker?" with a question mark). But Radical Entertainment (the makers of these games) were effectively layed off by Activision (the publishers of these games). So no more Prototype 3 :(

It's gotta suck for Dana... being kidnapped by that hunter in Prototype 1... being unconcious all the way till Prototype 2 when Mercer turns on humanity.
Alex didn't use: His Shield which protects him from damage completely, and usually breaks but protects from a single blow at least. His armor which softens all blows, but that aura around him might have been a new type of armor which might've been better than what he used in the first game. Maybe it was less bulky. The bulletdive drop (if you jump up and air dash while moving up it moves you further up and when you use upgraded Musclemass you deliver untold damage) The knuckle shockwave to keep Heller at bay, especially with Musclemass. The Groundspike Devastator The Critical Pain Devastator The Tendril Barrage Devastator The uppercut launcher/air combo/combo-ending spike, but that would've done too much damage, especially with Musclemass. The launch kick; that would've been hilarious if he sent Heller flying, especially with Musclemass. The Hammerfist Elbow Drop. The Powerbomb/aircombo/combo-ending spike. Again, too much damage, especially with Musclemass. Patsy, he could've taken on an infected's form and blamed it for ruining Heller's life, and then had Heller kill the infected and call it a day... until Heller didn't get any information from the infected and turned to Mercer. Woulda been a nice troll though. The grab/consume option. That would've made it really easy. That'd be an insanely difficult fight for Heller. Especially with Musclemass. Musclemass, WHERE IS IT!? The flying elbow drop (no hammerfist) The air stomp, easy to dodge, so I can see why it wasn't used. Retreating to consume infected and recover; Mercer's no barbarian who goes in recklessly, bad story writing. He does what he needs to do to get his ish done.

Mercer didn't want to just give his power to Heller; he wanted to see how Heller progressed by making him earn it. He took Maya to give Heller some incentive. Heller, with his "brand of annoyingly resilient DNA" can evolve Mercer's DNA faster than Alex Mercer can himself. Even with just a piece of Mercer's power, James Heller could turn it into something greater than Mercer's. Before that happens though, Mercer will take him down... and consume him to become an unstoppable force. When he consumes Heller, that would put an end to the Alex vs Cole arguments. Or... maybe Mercer's taking a gamble. Maybe he gave Heller a ton of his power and is now weaker than Heller. If he plays his cards just right he can take Heller down, and when he does he'll be more powerful than ever.
Let's be honest, only reason Heller wins is because ''oooh, he's human and has a family''. If you ask me Mercer should have annihilated Heller and be the protagonist again if there's a next game. Prototype's setting and main character's destructive powers just don't work all that well with a good guy at the steering wheel. Sometimes ya gotta have an evil one.
Mercer should've been god in this sequel, this was 2 years after right? He could've genetically enhanced himself even further than the first time. And also there was no sign of PARIAH or Greene in this sequel
Ahh! Prototype! One of my favorite franchises. I miss these simple crazy fun games. Everything is so serious now. Just can't go flying around smashing mutants with hammerfists anymore.
Those locking on green things, helicopters, that was the real deal. Only Greene is that powerful, but Alex is weak like that in the second game? Bullshit.

For those who find it pretty difficult to fight Mercer in Insane mode, there is a strategy I can provide: 1. Remember that your health will not regenerate to full after every level of fight ( there are 3 levels with Mercer). Health will only regenerate slightly for you, but fully for Mercer, after every level. His attacks will deal huge damage to you, compared to Normal mode. 1. In 1st level of fight, he uses blades, avoid using them, stick to the claws and repeatedly attack with simple claw attacks. But after every 3 hits, he will try to counter, bring up shield after every 3 successful hits to avoid damage. Claws will deal more damage over time than any other power in this level. 2. In 2nd level, he will bring up Whipfist, you can continue to use Claws, or use blade, but use normal hits with them, avoid charged hits. Here also, he will counter after taking 3 hits from you, but time your shield when he jumps your back and does whipfist attack. 3. In final level, he will use Hammerfist(remember, you can't counter it by any means). Use Whipfist's charged attack here. Hold jump to jump higher, then charge him with whipfist, avoid staying on ground for long time, as soon as you return to ground, immediately jump up, and again charge with aimed whipfist, it will eventually lower Mercer's health. Finally, he will use a range of powers to attack you one by one. Fortunately, you can use Ctrl to block all of them one by one and can disarm him after every block you do. That's it.

***** Ok so that is what they are called Hammerfists. The blade I guess can link into combos like a combos fest. The whip will grab opponents and will deliver resets and can also grab opponents, Scorpion style, and some whip attacks. The Hammerfist I guess will be shaking the stage and will be doing some earthquake attacks. I think he will be good op character.
As evidenced by his occasional advice whenever Heller screws up and by the fact that he didn't use a few of his other abilities from the first game that he could have used, I think that Mercer- for whatever reason- intended for Heller to kill him. Had Mercer actually used the full range of his abilities in this fight, Heller would likely have been the one to die in seconds.
I believe that this is not the real Mercer, but the blacklight virus that designed itself to appear as Mercer. Another possibility is it drove the real Mercer batshit insane, which seems likely, considering how mentally unstable Mercer already was.

Why? You kidnap a guys' daughter, kill his wife, and try to kill him multiple times, and kill his men, that's pretty much asking for him to fuck you up
The real Alex Mercer died in the previous game the one that came out the ocean after the explosion is the virus itself taking on the form of Alex Mercer and causing all of this
they don't make games like this anymore, hence why time really does nothing on them. They'll score high today because they not only good enough, but also because no one has tried going this path lately.
Radical! Please! Make an expansion / DLC for Alex Mercer's side of the story before, during, and maybe JUST MAYBE after, the Prototype 2 Timeline. With Alex being your character obviously, you're blackwatch's most wanted so the moment a soldier sees you you're compromised, having more, unique, and better powers, more skills and abilities, and just about everything from the first prototype, AND unlock the "Dead Zone", the other half part of the Red Zone.
This proves that this guy is pro because at the start of the video there is a muscle sight on the map.U need to kill the brawler to upgrade a weapon;blade,tendrils etc.so if the brawler is still there then he might have a possibility that he hasn't maxed any of his weapons yet but he still completed it in insane mode
I like your attention to detail but you missed a bit. His shield was maxed. I tried a similar technique (and failed a few times I am willing to admit) and you can't do it without maxed shield (and whipfist I believe).
totally an insane ending..... i thought heller and alex were about to team up for something like beat the hell out of a big ass mutant or the blackwatch or SOMETHING... but it turns out you just gotta kill mercer and the end... that's just it... puccck! if there were prototype 3, i wish dana mercer would be the protagonist. :) it's time for a woman touch maybe... :DDDDD
If only Prototype 3 came out and revealed that the Mercer in Prototype 2 was actually the Supreme Hybrid who somehow became a perfect Mercer clone or parts of Mercer's body from the Nuke in the first game became different Alex Mercers. So this is just one of those Alex Mercers.
@@gflash789 Hell yeah, that would be awesome, but only this one heller fought could just be another part of mercer virus bodies, there could be another mercer hiding, and the original mercer we play as in p1 might actually be gone for good in the nuke explosion.
A really good addition (in my opinion) would be when you consume mercer, heller should gain an ability or attack that's called Mass Consume, which sends out an atomic blast type of shield and everyone in that shield's radius should be consumed. Would be a good end game attack or ability to mess around with.
prototype 3 a way to bring alex back into the game:heller goes on with life till he feels pain in his abdominal regions then alex pops out of somewhere on his body.alex is back the infection is back and alex rematches heller beats him then doesn't consume but cures him so he has no way to continue to be like mercer.now alex has second guessed his choice to infect the world and now he decides to be a peacemaker and protect the world.
They nerfed Alex hard for this fight. Every time I played this part i couldn't help but think back to how strong i was in Prototype 1. Confining the battle to one rooftop was where i feel like they messed up. I'm also bothered that Alex barely had the moves he had from the first game. He was supposed to be OP.
Alex's sentence "Huh. Welcome to the top of the food chain." makes some sense. Hope they bring him back and make hima good guy again in the third game if there will be.
It’s interesting to see how Mercer developed between the two games, it’s as if “Mercer” died, and were replaced by some infestation intelligence representing itself through his memory
I love this final battle. The irony of cutting Mercers arms the infection going away and Hellers daughter accepting his new form it feels so final and complete
Lol, dude the game is so easy. It took me (literally no exaggeration) under 24 hours to complete the game twice, get every achievement and beat it 100%.
it would have been awesome if the end was a choice; teem up with mercer against hordes of blackwatch or side with blackwatch against an extremely over-powered mercer.
Till this day I still believe that if we got to choose who we want too use to fight with and if we all choose Mercer heller wouldn’t have stood a chance
Imagine that Alex made copies of himself and that was only a mere copy consumed by heller and the real one was somewhere out there. That would be sick and could’ve been the next Prototype 3
That's weird, because Heller does that for all versions of the game; it's probably because you didn't land enough subsequent hits on Mercer in order to prompt Heller to do that.
8:44 basically saying mercer ain't dead yet or they were planning an arkham knight approach with the joker if they made a sequel(which they didn't and won't for obvious reasons)
I found this battle a bit good and challenging Alex knows hellers attacks so he changes hes weapons Instead of just staying on one, he switched in order to counter one of his attacks The boss fight was smart and awesome

i wish this fight had a bit more to it. the final fight in prototype 1 was pretty epic due to being timed + he actually used the devastator. Seeing your enemy using your own strongest ability was something else. Prototype 1 was just so much harder of a game on the highest difficulty.
