When people tell me Thank You for your Service, I tell them that was the single best thing I ever did in my 80 years. I served in the U S NAVY. Thank you.
I taught my daughter ( since she was 2yrs old ) to shake the hand and say thank you to every soldier she sees. It would fill my heart to see her doing it without me having to say anything to her. She is now 20yrs old and still does it. She also now works for the police department.
As an United States of America citizen, I want to say Thank you for your service. Please understand that when most people say this, it isn’t because we’re trying to be patriotic or simply just nice to you, it’s because we may never know the sacrifice you gave for us and we shed tears every night when we say our prayers and thanking God for you...the American Soldier #USA🇺🇸 #GodBlessAmerica #thankyouforyourservice
When I deployed to Iraq I realized the family left behind may actually have it harder. We thank servicemembers as we should, but let me take the opportunity to thank you for YOUR service. No soldier I've ever known was doing it on their own. The support of loved ones is the beating heart of our volunteer military and in my humble opinion a major source of our strength. You sacrifice in a thousand ways that never get enough recognition. Be proud. You earned it.
I just laid my grandfather to rest last month. I spent most of my life knowing practically nothing of his service to our country. We laid him to rest with military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetary and at that point in my life, 30 years old, I've never felt that much of a sense of pride and sadness at the exact same moment. Thank you to all who have, those who are currently, and those who will serve this amazing country.
Where to start. I remember attending dads funeral. The navy did a truly BEAUTIFUL send off. I understand health wise why grandpa couldn’t go. Grandpa never mentioned much of his Air Force history. But looking back if he hadn’t joined dad wouldn’t have been born & neither would I. It’s because of his military history he met grandma. But the one thing I dreaded was hearing TAPS. I knew it was inevitable. I still remember seeing the soldier out in the distance..,the brief sermon then he started. If you’ve never been to a military funeral I promise you TAPS is impossible to get through.
I never had the pain of losing a father, brother, husband or son, but am the daughter, widow, sister and mother of veterans,a brat from birth and I didn't last one minute of this song before I was bawling. Thank you for your service ❤🤍💙
Thank you for your service, sir. I will never stop being grateful for the men and women who served with my brother (USMC) and made sure he came home to us.
I hope yall understand, when alot of us thank you for your service....a vast majority of us come from communities that value you. Be it vets kids, active duty family or neighbors we grew to knew who left to fight. There are millions of us who honor you.
Thanking you for your service seems like a failure on my part to convey how much your service means to me. My family is loaded with veterans and active members. I wish i could buy you guys a cup of coffee and really show you how much you are appreciated. But i guess i will have to settle with "Thank You". Love this song and thanks for reacting to it.
Whenever this song comes on, I lose my shit. The ultimate sacrifice seen thru the eyes of the lost is such a view. Glad yall did this song. I wouldve suggested it
I just wanted to say thank you for your service. My brother in law is in Arlington. He passed away almost 12 years ago over seas for freedom. He was in his early 20s. December is not a good month for the family because my husbands brother was born on Christmas day and died on the 7th of December and 2 almost 3 years ago my dad passed away December 30th. My husband brother was an airborne ranger. His name is Henry Linck. There is a video on here in memory of him. My husband also was in the military. But he can no longer be in since that was his only sibling and baby brother. He still has trouble listing to these songs. And my uncle was a sniper in the military. Well known.
Stan, thank you for your service brother. Im also a Navy vet, BM3. 1996 to 2000,did 2 6 months deployments aboard the USS John C Stennis CVN-74. I never saw any combat, but did serve with those that had and im proud to have served with each and every one of them. Again, thanks for your service and for doing these videos.
Thank you also for your service, and thank you too Stan, and all others here who honorably served. Daughter of a WWII (and Korea) vet, Step Father Vietnam, Mentor (Extra dad) Korea.
@@protonneutron9046 It's not desecrating as the US Flag should not be altered. The Thin Line flags are always designed as inspirations of the United States Flag and they're not US Flags altered into thin line flags. Everywhere I've seen thin blue line flags flown (if at all because I've barely seen them flown) they're always following the regulations and are flying lower than Old Glory. Examples: is the Malaysian flag criminal? Its essentially the US Flag with a sun in the blue field. Or how about Patches worn in the military where the US Flag is Multicam, AOR or Subdued, or Black and White IR material. Should we ban any and all US Flags on uniforms that are not Red, White and Blue? Sorry but this isn't a hill you should be dying on. In all cases I've seen the Thin Blue Line flown and used it is respectful and flown by the utmost of Patriots. Those who lay down their lives in the preservation of society over chaos for our Country. Chill out man. We're on the same side, love of country and duty.
I’m an X Aussie Digger. If this song doesn’t bring a lump to ya throat and tears in ya eyes, ya ain’t got feelings. Thank you for your service and all still deployed especially come home safe
I retired from Army service after 25+yrs. I've had the honor of visiting Arlington National Cemetery and have seen the thousands of headstones that represented each and every servicemen buried there. It's an experience, so peaceful. Evry time someone thanked me for the service to country, I'd reply "NO ma'am or no sir don't thank me... Thank you for your support."
Thank you for your sacrifices and your service. I remember when my dad took me to Arlington I must have been around 10, I remember being in awe at all the white crosses.
Letters from home If you're reading this Letters from war These three are great songs! Letters from war was always played at church on sundays when I was at basic training. Stan thank you for your service! From a proud Air Force vet.
Helping people grieve is correct for sure.. My dad was a retired Marine that passed last year and we're only just getting to have his funeral in about 5 days since Covid prevented us from doing it sooner..Beaufort National is where he'll be and I'm just bawling with this song and Semper Fi..I miss him so much.. Thank you for your service Sir, and Semper Fi.
Thank you so very much for your service!!! It is so comforting knowing that there are heroes like you out there protecting my family, and fighting for our freedoms. Without men and women like you, to protect this great nation, there wouldnt be men and women like my husband and i, to feed this nation!!! On behalf of farmers, and ranchers everywhere, i say Thank You, to you, and every other hero who has fought to keep this nation safe!!! You are very much appreciated!!!!
Thank you for your service. May God bless and keep you both. We are forever grateful for your service. God Bless the United States of America and those who serve this great country.
Great review of the song! I've heard this one a hundred times and each time I still get misty eyed thinking of the sacrifices made so that I can have the freedoms that I do in this country. My grandfather was drafted into WWI but was discharged from the Army after basic training due to the war ending. He turned around and enlisted in the Navy, working as a machinist doing repair work. All 4 of his sons served in the Army and Air Force. His oldest son saw some of the heaviest fighting of WWII in Europe. His oldest grandson was in the Army in a recon unit in Vietnam. I served briefly but proudly in the Air Force. I was brought up to show nothing but respect for those that have served our country and am trying to instill that same respect in my children. Thank you and all others for your service. There are still many of us that truly do appreciate it!
Man this song was being played all the time in 2005 - 2007. When I was being deployed. I just remember thinking, well that's a good way to look at it.... Stan Thanks for your service brother. Thank you both for reacting
I live very near Arlington. It was a sobering experience visiting it. I stood in front of my childhood hero....Audie Murphy's cross. Trace has a great new song called "The Empty Chair". I am the daughter of a WW2 vet, and the mother of a retired Marine. Trace is very good to the military.
Thank you for your service. I’m glad I got to see y’all when you first heard this beautiful song. I tear up when I hear it sometimes still and I’ve known it since it came out some yrs ago.
2:43. You paused I seen our Veterans tears and I broke. You men and women have such amazing souls and hearts. As a ex-military wife I see you all as living angels. It's men and women like you that make me proud to be American. You guys are what True heros look like. Along with PD, Emt and Firefighters. My dream tattoo is of the American Flag with a toy soldier standing guard. 4 colors of freedom and Heros. Red-Firefighters, White- EMTS, Blue- Police and Green-Military. Thank you Sir for your service. And Thank you also goes to your family as well, for they also sacrificed.
My Dad served, my two baby brothers served in VietNam. So, I want to thank you for your service. The after effects of what you experience in only known by those who served. It’s soul wrenching when you all don’t get your needs met because of politics. God has a special place in His heart for you all. It’s you guys who keep us free. Bless you.
Some music has soul; country music has HEART. I loved seeing both of you as you listened-your eyes said so much. I’m glad I ran across your channel tonight! 💕
This was a wonderful reaction! Thank you Mr. Stan for your service. I come from a huge military family. I have a relative that's buried at Arlington, but we've never got to go visit. It's definitely something i would love to do some day.
Doesnt matter how many times I listen to this song I tear up. As a wife to a retired sailor it hits home. My friends husband got killed on the USS COLE . My husband was in Desert Storm . Left when I was 8 months pregnant didnt see his son till he was 6 months..He was in Behrain when 9/11 happened.
Someone fell and hit their head on the dislike button. This song brings on the tears every time. Thank you for your service too, Stan. I came to your channel for Dimash but loving all your stuff.
Thank You for your Service and for my Freedom Because I know that Freedom is not free. That is what I tell every soldier I see or vet Military Person . And the Vietnam Vets My first words are Welcome Soldier and then the rest . God Bless Our Military and their families
Before my then 19 yr old son was deployed to Iraq we discussed a lot of things regarding his wishes if something happened. When it came to his remains, he sent me a link to this song and just said "This". I'm grateful nothing happened to him but this song still tears me up everytime thinking about the other mothers who's sons and daughters didn't come home.
I just requested this on Toby Keith song but it looks like you've already done it. Getting ready to watch one of my favorite videos. Thank you guys and thank you sir for your service. I could not do what you've done but I am so thankful that there are those who can. I love you for it brother and I love all past present and future soldiers.
The Statler Brothers "More Than A Name On A Wall" written by member Jimmie Fortune after visiting the Vietnam Memorial....... I saw her from a distance, as she walked up to the wall In her hand she held some flowers, as her tears began to fall She took out pen and paper as to trace her mem'ries She looked up to heaven, and the words she said were these She said, "Lord my boy was special, and he meant so much to me And Oh, I'd love to see him just one more time you see All I have are the mem'ries and the moments to recall So Lord could you tell him he's more than a name on the wall"
Thank you for you service. I have a lot of family and friends that were in the military. Another good song is by the band Atreyu called So Others May Live
Stan: As the daughter of a World War II veteran, just want to say "thank you for your service"! Without the brave men & women who protect our country we would not be living with the freedoms we have. Thank you, sir!
