I have the green dial one with the PT5000 and It’s become one of my favorite watches. It’s my first watch with this movement and so far it’s more accurate than any of the many NH35 watches that I have. Don’t know how it will be long term but that’s one of the reasons why I chose it.

Thanks for the review Gary .I really like this proxima .The colour looks amazing along with the lume .I was tossing up between the nh35 or the pt5000.I noticed some new watches from proxima looking very nice .I’m sure people have their eyes on this brand now.

Mine is on the way. I believe they put it together according to your order because I picked the parts on mine. Since they sent you this I think it is worth pointing out that not only they take your order as you want but you get pictures of it prior to shipping including timegrapher tests, lume, bracelet/strap. Even the case and strap 'versions' I picked.

I have one of these with the older pale blue textured dial and I absolutely love it. Feels and looks way more expensive than it is. Only negatives are, backplay on the bezel is awful and there was a ding in the case. I think I was just unlucky, seems like you've got a good one there. I'd love to see that coffee dial available with silver indices and hands for folks who aren't keen on gold.

I've had a black dial sapphire crystal version of this watch for about 2 years. Great watch for the money. I also have a genuine Seiko MM300 SBDX17, and the Proxima keeps much better time. The hands on the Proxima are also perfectly aligned, which is more than I can say of the Seiko!

They've definitely improved on these. I bought one 2 years ago (black dial), and it's a fantastic watch, built like a tank. I even took it diving and it holds up like a dream. Sadly the bezel insert engravings were thin and you can barely make out the gold numbers. They definitely look to have improved this in your version! Hopefully I can buy a replacement bezel insert!

I really like my Proxima. It is chunky in a good way. I like the mono-block. I like the weight of it on my wrist. The end links on mine have no gaps. Thanks for the review Gary.

Finally pulled the trigger on the exact same model except NH35 version, on Monday. Received pics of my watch , on a time grapher (plus 3 secs.) It looks stunning, I know I`ll be spending a lot of time looking at this thing with a slightly glazed expression on my face. And for less than £130, it was a bit of a no brainer. Great review Gary, you can definitely tell Proxima you got at least one sale for them,(a lot more I would imagine.) And when she finds out I`ve bought another watch, your name is definitely coming up in questioning. Ta mate.

I had a HIMQ branded proxima one of these and sent it back. The drilled lug holes didn't align with each other, so the end links wouldn't engage properly. The bezel could be popped off just by pulling it upwards. Hopefully things have improved on these ones, but it really put me off...........Once bitten etc...

I've seen this video but never watched it because of the dial colour, but I thought "what the hell" glad I did, as you say the watch head is stunning, and after looking at one of my (unused) Seiko bracelets, Proxima have nailed that too even if the quality doesn't match the watch. Such a sculpture the case, beautiful lines, transitions, and finishing. They look really good on a rubber strap (the case generally) some careful colour matching required in this case. Definitely worth putting an SW200 in this case, it's worthy of a hi-beat. It makes similarly priced Seiko's pale into insignificance and even the cheaper Seiko versions of this model lack some of the Proxima. I think that's the anti-scratch coating robbing the stainless steel of some of its natural beauty with the Seiko. The coffee dial looks great combined with the gilt, a real looked.

Watched your comparo Prox Vs Sm mm300’s. Great vid and my only comment is that they both stand on their own. They are different enough to be considered different. The SM is as similar to proxima as SM is to the Sumo. I have 2 SM mm300’s and one Proxima I love all 3 equally. The fact that the case on the Proxima is detachable and it is an actual mono block case put it ahead by alot, although I wear and enjoy them both. I also believe that both are made as well if not better than the real Seiko‘s.

Love my coffee dial pt5000 which is running +1 to -1 second per day. I was sent photos of the build and on their timegrapher pic was showing exactly the same. It has performed perfectly for 6 months. Great value for money and build quality is excellent. Again the bracelet although faithful to the Seiko MM300 is a slight let down it is comfortable and looks good but I’m also looking to update with a Strapcode bracelet. I’ve seen one RU-vid vid with the end link fitment exposing the screws behind on the case and it doesn’t fit up to the bezel. Holding fire on a Strapcode purchase until I see if there is a better fit available. Anybody out there with details or pics?

Hey Gary, can you check if there is a cut out on the case at the top side of the crown. In looking at the watch on AliEx, someone commented that they are using the new modular cases now, and I figured I could get it checked first hand with you…😇 great review, I like the SanMartin as well, but the coffee dial does make this one stand out a bit more..

Man that is one awesome looking diver that appears to be as well built and as the incredible look it has. I definitely want to pick one of those up. I like the case size and the case thickness. Does it feel well well balanced? It looks easily to be that of a $500 plus dollar watch. Great review and awesome piece to review. I'm sold.

There is plenty of weight in the bracelet but this case will always feel a little too heavy, just as the Seiko one does

I totally understand why you liked it and don't think as a reviewer that is a negative or I should say don't feel badly as if you were biased in any way. I just reviewed the Aquatico Sea Star V2 and became an affiliate member with Aquatico as well. Although I review by way of the specs and if there are major quality issues that need noting I ensure viewers know which I'm about to upload a 60 days later review highlighting major major quality issues I've encountered with the Pagani 1667 that I gave a great initial review of but as for the Sea Star man I saw it and instantly knew from the second I saw it the passion I had for it and the quality backed up it's undeniably fine dive watch looks just like this one and it showed in my review just as you showed genuine excitement over a truly well made good looking timepiece that I think is great you conveyed in your review. That genuine thrill of a good looking timepiece was real and a huge part or in part as a true positive attribute to the piece you featured. Great job. I would love if Proxima would send me one to review on my channel but while I've collected high end dive watches for 20 years, my channel is fairly new and I unfortunately don't have the subscribers or traction to get but very few companies to invest in me. Maybe I'll one day see the growth which the Aquatico Sea Star V2 that was sent out to me for review instantly garnered me new subscribers but goodness I'm nowhere near even remotely close and at times I wonder if I in fact am spinning my wheels. I just know dive watches and have owned almost every brand from 10k in price and below over my 20 years but RU-vid is numbers and I have to sell myself and my professional background in market analysis to be result in very few sending me pieces out to review. Anyways I enjoy your channel. Hope all is well and keep the true enthusiasm. It's real and that's a huge part of what is the truth as part of a review. Great job

Dude just to let you know since I asked around in the comments a while back. I got the watch, same color combination just with BGW9 lume on the bezel - I prefer white numerals ans dots instead of bronze/yellow looking on the bezel. It's great and is worth more than I paid for IMO ! Bronze I think is for me better choice than green. P.S they have blue dial now as well Thanks !

Don’t like how those end links suit the case. My Sn079 San Martin mm200/sumo hommage (that you reviewed a while ago) looks head and shoulders above this and is currently $180 in the sale. If anyone looks back at your review of it it’s a stunning watch. Close to perfection in my eyes. Definitely one of if not my favourite watch costing 5 times less than some of my others but the fit and finish is unbelievable and at that price it’s a real steal!! Great review Gary but San Martin all day over this one for me👍🏻

I don't think proxima pre-makes all these options, pretty sure they're built to order, and they have all the parts assembled when you place your order. More than a few times now, they've accommodated a request I've asked for a change of one feature on the watch, to even doing almost a custom watch. They definitely seem to have the best customer service on aliexpress.

It's a good looking homage, I like it. But the monobloc case is actually the reason why I'm reluctant to buy this kind of watch is the fact that when wind up with a specimen with a badly regulated movement you're pretty much stuck with it, so I would have liked to see this on the timegrapher. But what I absolutely don't like is the clasp they chose. The watch itself is massive and the flimsy clasp looks out of place on this watch sadly.

Damn. I love it… Yet afraid that my 6 and 3/4 inch wrist is just a wee too dinky. On a strap, that thing would likely bobble around. The coffee color is flippin’ gorgeous.

I would prefer blue/bgw9 lume instead of c3 and I just asked them if I can get it on coffee dial instead of C3, they said I can! Outstanding review with really nice shots. I was thinking about the brown version but at some shots it looked way too bright, so 2 days ago I have ordered a black version. If I have seen your review before I would have ordered this version... Anyway, really nice review. There is just one thing missing, if I am correct this version includes a modular case design so by unscrewing 2 small screws you can change the outer shell. This is a quite unique feature.

Proxima is quality-wise on the level of San Martin, I got three of these. Best of the MM version is the one in titanium grade 5. Sad that they've started to put that childish unicorn on the dial...

What's important to know about this watch is that it features "a case within a case". Removing the bracelet reveals two screws that release the "inner case" along with the bezel and the crown (hence the strange cut above the crown). From my point of view this is a shame because it contradicts the "monobloc" concept. On the plus side, one can hope that one day, when the scratches become unbearable, a new external case can be purchased as a spare part, getting everything back to the pristine condition of a brand new watch.

It’s still a mono block watch because even with the outer shroud removed the only way you can open the watch for servicing is from the top of the case .

Any chance of pressure testing it’s water resistance? I think most people want to know if it is actually capable of going in the water. A lot of Chinese watch companies recommend that you don’t get their dive watches wet. So nice job of looking it over and saying it’s pretty, but how about something useful like the testing the beat rate, and water resistance.
