It's been a year since we planted our muscadines and now its time to get them ready for the spring. #muscadine #farming Farm Shirts Available bonfire.com/sto...
Bought from Ison's and already have them in the ground. Thomcord, Ison Red, and Black Fry. Trellised up and ready. Thanks for the videos and advice. Ordered 2 Plum trees and will have them planted before March. Keep up what you are doing.
Always learning, bud. Love seeing Uncle Jesse and Girls - but I think you knew that already. After these next two weekends are finished up… time to get my southern grapes 🍇 in the ground brother. We’ll take a look this Friday at where you think I should put them
I’m not sure of chapter and verse but in the Old Testament the people were told not to eat the fruit of new vines and fruit trees for the first three years. This was to allow them to put down roots and become established. I always think of the verse that tells us the Lord prunes those he loves and he loves all of us.
Awe that's terrible what Water can crush😞. I never thought you'd give your Ducks Away , you had so much fun with them😱. At least you know a Nice Duck Lady , they will be fine 🐦. Your a great Grape grower Shane👊. Jo JO IN VT 💕😄☃
You are like that bunny 🐇 who beats a bass drum 🥁 with boundless energy. I'll have whatever you are on.😂🔥 There's ice on the ground here. Come on spring! Tell Kim'nem I said hello.
Now the real pruning begins. My oldest vines are in Columbus at my family place where my daughter is living until she finishes college. Some of those vines are 50+ years old and they grow along a fence row that has grown up over the years. The vines send runners way up in the trees every year. I have to take hedge trimmers and hack my way in just so I can prune them and, by fall, they will be right back up in the trees. 2 more days left in deer season and then I'll tackle those rascals. I got all the vines here at the farm pruned last week. We only had 2 vines that died but, like you, had a few that didn't thrive. We have all the muscadines we need but plan to add about a dozen new fruit trees this month. A couple of different figs and pears for sure. Sometimes we just have to go in a different direction. We kept 18 quail but are considering exiting that adventure as well. We just don't eat them enough. Las tonight we had smoked chicken, that we raised, with collard greens and yellow squash that we raised topped with pepper sauce that we made. We are bringing in a new puppy next week so another adventure will begin. How much longer will you keep Jessie? Seems like he should have done his duties by now but I know less than nothing about swine husbandry.
Excited to see more muscadines! Do you recycle or reuse the harder plastic portions? Those of us with fewer vines are drooling over the opportunity to root new plants. 😁 guess it’s better to get them up to production. Going to shoot you a message about a few things.
