PS4 Blinking Blue Light explained and fixed! (August 2024) 

Dude, I was literally standing on this PS4 cause another video said to, not to mention that was 23 hours ago, I have watched every video for about 8 hours (not kidding) and if this one didn't work I would've thrown it away! Never thought I'd have to change resolution! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

My PS4 started doing that, the way I fixed it was by beating it with a hammer

What I do is take off the top cover, check if there is any dust. I still blow into my fan just in case. I don’t like taking off screws because I’m kinda scared ngl. At the bottom left of your PS4 there’s this place where you can slip a piece off. I also clean there, but be careful cleaning there. And with a little of hitting the back right of my PS4, it turns on. This is my 3rd time getting the blue light of death.

I was super scared because i always see blue light of death videos in my feed and i just got that light today. Thank god it was a minor problem. Thanks!

Got a PS4 from a coworker that was blue lighting. He thought it was a bad HDMI port. He told me I could have it if I could get it working again. Well tried a new HDMI cable, put it into safe mode and then fixed the resolution. Works perfectly now! Thank you! I now have a free working PS4!

mine will show the ps4 logo and then go blank, i tried everything and it didn’t work so i guess it’s goodbye to the good ole console

Make sure your RBG range setting on sound & screen is set to automatic. Having it on full with out the proper screen will give you the blue light of death. Trust

My PlayStation is blinking and it shows the logo when I restart it. I can go into safe mode and restart it, but my TV gets no signal and the logo shows for a second and it goes back to no signal. What should I do?

As putting my ps4 in safe mode worked, but you failed to state that it can take over 20 attempts to put it in safe mode

While none of your suggestions worked for me, you introduced me to Safe Mode, and after trying out other options on there, I discovered I could re-download the new software update from there. Something bugged out during the installation before, which was what had caused my blue light of death. Reinstalled the update and it was back to working again!! THANK YOU!!!

When I turn on my PS4 it doesn’t sound like how it normally sounds when you turn it on; there’s a couple of click noises from the fan. The PS4 logo shows on the screen but then goes black for a while. About a few minutes later I hear the main menu music (still black screen) and then error code pops up that says “the display is corrupted. The PS4 will restart” error code CE-41813-7

So my ps4 has a flashing blue light and the psn logo stays for about 1 minute then it works but then it turns off after 1 minute of working, also want to note that rest mode fully works and also I can't log into another guest account within the 1 minutes of the ps4 working just days an error, anyone know what the specific issue is?

Its been a year but I just kept messing with the hdmi cable into each hdmi spot in my tv and just kept doing it until it eventually turned itself back on

I just took mine completely apart carefully cleaned everything put it all back together gave it good love smack near the power cable input and works great being 4 years old... now my year old limited days of play one is doing this.....

I tried installing the good HDD from other good condition PS4 and cables from the good too, and still no signal and blinking blue light.

It's so ironic how I just got the PS5 for Christmas and when I tried to go back onto my PS4 to play with some friends I started experiencing the blue light of death issue yesterday with an added bootloop included. Earlier today when I tried to boot it up once again it just randomly wiped my entire hard drive and I didn't even press anything for that to happen and had to download all of my files from the cloud again onto my console. After the hard drive reset it still started doing it and I also checked the HDMI cord and power cord to make sure those were not bent but there appeared to be nothing wrong with them. I'm guessing that the motherboard got fried at this point but maybe the PS4 death clock is an actual thing after all.🤔

I'm having the original ps4 model and see that if i shut down normally then reboot everything comes up fine but after a few minutes everything dealing with a Bluetooth connection that is turned on turns off and won't reconnect until i either power back down or cut power the wrong way when it comes back up everything is in working order

There is suppose to be gold pins across each slot for the hdmi correct

I fixed it super easy, idk if it was just for me but when it was in the black screen I hold the power button for a couple seconds and it went back

Where I live there are power glitches, which is what I suspect happened. The controller had flashing blue lights when I hit the power button. To fix it I held down the power button on the console until the screen came on and I hit the buttons to get where I wanted to.

Can someone help My PS4 was t used for 6 month after I went on a vacation.After coming back it worked fine expect it would crash in rest mode so I change to another power outlet and rebuild the data base.it worked until now where my PS4 was in rest mode and now I woken up and seen there blue light of death and stuck on a black screen.i tried to rebuild database and change resoltion but hasn't worked.i changed the wires but didn't work.i left it for 3 hours and nothing has work.Can anyone help Please?!!!

I just had the blue light of death but I fixed it by taking off the cover of the pS4 and blowing all of the dust off, then I went into safe mode and did the steps in the safe mode part of the video. Hope it helps

My PS4 beeps when I press the button but doesnt show a light to indicate it’s on so I press it again and it’s blinking blue and when ever I try to put it in safe mode it beeps twice then a clicking sound can be heard and my ps4 gets turned off. I’ve tried switching hdmi cords, I’ve checked the hard drive, I’ve tried many different hdmi inputs and nothing, it gets a black screen and turns off

I'm not home at the moment so I can't test anything, but just wanted to ask if the issue I'm having is the same sort of thing... The PlayStation hadn't been used in about 6 months before this. I plugged it in, all worked fine and was able to play a game on it, then I did all the updates it needed. Since then, whenever I plug everything in and turn on the PlayStation it comes up with a "checking storage space" message and the loading bar, finishes that, the PS logo comes on the screen and goes again, then I'm just stuck with a black screen. After a while either the PlayStation or the TV just turns off. I've tried just leaving it and I've tried holding the power button till it beeps and unplugging and plugging it back in. Nothing has worked so far and it does the exact same thing every time its starred now. While it's doing it there is a slowly pulsing on and off blue light. Help pleaseeee 😢

Mine keeps saying it wasn't turned off properly. I do the double beep and it keeps saying to update 8.03 which I have installed at least 75 times and it keeps saying the same thing. I try to play fortnite and it keeps freezing lagging and the game keeps crashing. I try to move around the main menu and the system keeps freezing. Some days it turns on just fine others it works then crashes when I back out.

what if it wont go into safe mode? i have one here that has no display and keeps flashing blue, ive tried the cables and hdd from another one and it still will not give a second beep. if it does a second beep it is the turning off beep and it stays off afterwards

Mine won't go into safemode at all, that's when it does the blinking blue light, and black screen. If I just press the button, it comes up with a message 'cannot start ps4, hold power button for 1 second'

What about the jump drive ps4 software download? I got currently have the blinking blue light and mine says cause the servers cannot connect to database with a black screen error 404 or something like that. I was told to download the ps4 files to a flash drive then upload to my ps4 and press initialize ? Has anyone heard of this process?

hey bro i have a ps4 slim and it’s been messing up on the blue light of death but i checked my HDMI 1 cable and one little pin is messed up do you think it could be that? this ps4 slim is new i bought it one month ago exactly so i don’t see how it could be anything else. it has the latest update and everything, it constantly sends me to the “checking system storage” or the “plug in a usb drive and download the latest software” i don’t see how those could be the problem. and when i initialize it again it freezes and lags and then turns off again and does the same thing. it also doesn’t let me download games from the ps store gives me a cannot download and a error code. when i put it into rest mode or turn it off and try to turn it back on it sends me to the same screens this is when initialize it again. ik this is long but i hope you can give me some advise. also don’t see how one little broke pin could be the issue either

Tried to restore the factory settings, it turns blue for a second then turns white and says checking the system storage status. Afterwards it restarts with the blue light flashing gets to the ps logo (sometiimes) and stays blank while still flashing the blue light. Wtf?

hey, i dont think that i have the blue light of death but yesterday my ps4 slim said too hot then it turned off seconds after and my ps4 slim wasnt hot. I turned it back on and the same thing happened only it was right when i turned it on. Also my ps4 slim wasnt even hot it was warm at best. Usually when my ps4 slim is hot, it will say too hot then i press ok then the too hot message comes up 3-4 more times before it shuts itself off. Can u pls give me an answer as to why? ive tried doing some research, but nothing seems to answer my problem. thanks
