@@PeterSkaOi all the games are on pc, and cheap too. I bought each for like 4-5$ a pop with all the DLCs . You can run all the Batman games at 4k 120, with raytracing on like a 3080. It’s pretty dope . You should look for the vids on RU-vid.

I am afraid it will deliver less for a higher price tag ;) that is the new way. Ps4 PRO was natural stronger by 125%. PS5 PRO requires softwaretricks, PSSR reprogramming entire game engines and so on. Only 45% faster otherwhise.....so i remain not optimistic about this. For sure we will have some good examples, but how often will other developer follow that example....for zero bucks of benefit.

But at the same time games eating so much more power for smaller improvements to our eyes... imo PS4 Pro was also not a big thing. 4k Upscaling was very visible and of course FPS, but the games itself are nearly the same most of the time. The PS4 Pro had the slow CPU problem. Now with M2SSD and way faster CPU (4k is already there, no matter if native or uspacled) i think the PS5 Pro is really only for pixel peeping. Or PSVR2 User. The biggest jump we had was from PS4 / PS4 Pro to PS5 in terms of new standards like memory speed, SSD and CPU.

The difference between the PS4 and PS4 Pro was not significant. It just ran games at 1440p or 1600p upscaled to 4k at 30fps. While the PS4 was a 1080p or 900p 30fps box. PS5 Pro will be an even smaller leap in power than the PS4 Pro was for more money.

It will not make a difference the bandwidth is the same as an Xbox Series X. With a %40 more powerful GPU it’s even more memory bandwidth starved. Then there’s the CPU that is also the bottleneck as well.

​@ZackSNetwork I am not sure how running the game on a faster GPU with more memory bandwidth and faster CPU doesn't equal better performance. Also you are forgetting that the CPU and GPU share the memory bandwidth on PS5. Simply increasing the memory bandwidth lifts both. You are implying that a faster GPU will bottleneck the system by eating up the bandwidth but if you are running the same code, increasing the bandwidth only gives more resources to the GPU which means lowering frametimes...or higher framerates.

Well, Microsoft did it with the FPS boost initiative, I suppose. Sony really needs its own equivalent.

It means that DRS games will stick more rigidly to their upper bounds, and there'll be less frame dips on 60fps games that drop below 60.

If a game has a framerate that varies between 30-60 on base PS5, it should run at a solid 60 on PS5 Pro. It’s that simple.

pretty much same thing as PS4 Pro. For instance a game with an unlocked rame rate could get better fps, or one that has trouble hitting it's cap would be more stable.

@7MDv I am by no means an expert, but I cant imagine it would work on games where the physics are tied to the frame rate and any increases could break the game. Anybody have any info on this?

The main features that you would be missing out on would by 4k/120 and VRR..these features are available on supported games/tvs now but would prob be more prevalent on Pro games

The PS5 can rdr2 at 60fps Sony and Rockstar are just lazy modded ps5s run dozens of games at 60fps for months now

Some people speculate that the AMD Zen 2 CPU, which will only be clocked at 10% higher than the normal PS5, will prevent any meaningful improvement from being made, and what is worse, it will be so much stress to the CPU on account of the bottleneck that the PS5 Pro will die quicker than a regular PS5.

Not just that but it probably also allows for more GPU to be unlocked. Otherwise if the GPU is running at a slower clock it wouldn't make sense. There is something we don't know yet. We are definitely in the dark when it comes to how backwards compatibility works on the GPU. It could just be something where RDNA4 are just more efficient that RDNA2 cores and simple runs the same load faster even at lower clocks.

A classic PS5 is enough for that, I'm also waiting for 60 FPS in these games, but we probably won't see it

@@connorjoe6700 this time we had 2 years of struggle to get a PS5. I don´t think that 3 years makes sense. 4 yearse minimum, of not 5 this time. PS5 is a strong console and player base is important to sell games. And because of this it would make more sense to bring the console later to get the newest hardware for the best price.

The ps5 pro can use PSSR to upscale Driveclub towards looking almost as good as native 4k but the pathetic 30fps will remain the same.

PC users can just change a few settings and a 2 year old graphics card is running almost as good as a newly released card with minimal loss in visual quality. A console has hard locked visual settings. Base PS5 will be running everything at 4k(upscaled) 30fps. And PS5 pro will be 60fps. And no way to change that without giving more money to Sony.

If you refuse to play one then you must refuse to play the other as well or your a hypocrite.
