if you have this problem, do not open your consolle and unscrew the screws! This way will destroy your warrant and you will lose your chanse to get a new ps5 for Sony!

I have never had a console that I need to take apart to clean. This is a hardware issue that Sony is aware of and acts oblivious to it. If a console can't play games it was designed for with out disassembly required then the makers are responsible for the issue.
Took the words out of my mouth was just about to say the EXACT same thing .... this Is just f**king regoddamndiculous man .... I've had mine for a little over 2 years not once did it do this and I CLEAN IT EVERY ITHER MONTH .... thus was just stupid man they NEED to address this sh*t .-.
@@EUDDA- Oh like this better you activate the support, and send back to the store for a new one, or send Sony instead… If it was about 12 months or more I would recommended you to open and clean it
thank you for this! i will call them today. i can’t believe the internet says to dissemble the entire ps5, not all of us are skilled or comfortable with doing that, and we shouldn’t have to do that, other than maybe cleaning the faceplates. so glad someone is in the same boat as me.
For Americans, it is illegal to void a warranty unless the manufacturer can prove the issue is from something you did. If you threaten legal action they'll likely back down and give you warranty
I’m having the same problem man! My Ps5 always crashes when playing high end games. Sony needs to fix this! They make us spend hundreds of dollars for our consoles to shut off within 20 minutes!
I just got mine last November as a birthday gift from my parents and now after 3 month my Ps5 sometimes crashed, for example Apex (Ps5 version) and Among us (also a Ps5 version) crashed, after that I started playing the PS4 version It's kinda sucks cuz every time I crashed I had to force closing my PS5,Its funny how Among us is a 2D game and still crashed, bro Sony needs to do something to fix this issue dawg ☠️☠️
Call Sony. This is the problem that I mention in my video. This is hardware issue that makes your PS5 overheat when playing PS5 games. Make Sony replace your console.
What’s worse is this problem is common to thousands of PS5 owners - but, if you speak to PS support, the rep will say that this is not a common issue and there is no update/notice from PS. What a load of crock. My PS5 will crash when playing only specific PS5 games. I’ll get major screen tear as well on my LG C2 OLED. The TV is not the problem, it’s the PS5. I’ve done everything to try to resolve the issue. Cleaned the inside of the PS5, did everything in safe mode, purchased a new HDMI, purchased an external fan - I mean, I did everything you can find on the PS site and more. But still, I get screen tear and crashes out the yin yang. It’s pretty obvious that PS is keeping this on the down low. If they went public with this, they’d go broke and lose credibility. My last option is to have PS make a repair or send a completely new PS5, which most likely won’t happen without a cost, considering this issue started just a few weeks after my warranty expired, how convenient.
Hi. I had the same. I have tried various solutions from the internet. I found my own way. It was enough to remove the panel, unscrew and pull out the fan and, using a rubber tube attached to the vacuum cleaner pipe, suck the dust from the wall in front of the power supply, thus clearing the holes, resulting in better cooling flow preventing the power supply from overheating.
This is the way to lose your warranty... What will you do when the PS5 start to shut of when you have it like that? Is not a fix but a way to ignore the problem and delay it. Is limited how many times a device can overheat before it gets bricked. Send it to repair and get a new one, do not open that shit up and destroy your warranty and chanse to replace the faulty console for free.
Crazy to receive a new console only to get this problem days later or even scarier to get this problem months or years after it being fine and Sony not being able to help you… me myself pre ordered the Spiderman limited edition bundle ps5 hopefully everything is perfect when it comes in
My ps5 shutting down only on ps4 games not the ps5 ine its says ( something wrong with the game or app ) ,also ( a problem occurred in the system software last your ps5 was used
They can not charge you. This is a defect manufactured issue caused by Sony poor development, not something that shall happend after only couple years with new gen console. I hope it works out for you, but I'm pretty sure it will be free. This problem is not something that is ur fault and a PS5 must have more than 2 years lifetime. 😊
Quick question have u had any issues with your new one since when this video was posted? If the cleaning doesn't work for me may have to buy myself a new one and actually not forget I have a warranty. I don't remember if i have one since i got lucky and acquired the system on the month of its release. Since then I cant remember if i had/have a warranty on the console
Yo, no I had 0 issues with the console I got sent in return from Sony. Play every day and is on for hours, do not make any noise or shuts of as the prev did. This is a defect issue and should go on warranty
If you're in a similar position to the individual in this video but your system doesn't have a warranty, you can try to clean out the dust from your system. If you're comfortable enough, try to clean out BOTH the fan and disassemble your system further to clean out the heatsinks. I dealt with my system turning off when attempting to play Hogwarts Legacy about 8 - 12 months ago and the reason it kept turning off is that the game itself requires a lot of processing power and all the dust inside traps the high heat inside the system instead of naturally pushing it out. I remember trying to play Hogwarts Legacy and it would turn off in about 5 minutes and the front of the console felt warmer than usual. I never felt what the temperature of the rear end of the console was like after my console turned off but I'm sure it was at least just as inordinarily warm as the front of the system. After cleaning out the dust from my system, I could play Hogwarts Legacy for hours with no problem. If you're not comfortable, have a family member or friend clean your system out for you. Try not to take your system to a repair shop as they might charge you too much money for completing the task of cleaning out dust, which really isn't that hard to do if you try to do it yourself.
Unfortunately you're wrong. I just got this console replaced again. I bought console in 2020 as pre order. Arrived 2021. Still I got it replaced for free by Sony for everheating while play ps5 games. I just uploaded a video of it. Check it out.
Clearly, you don't want to risk opening up your console, which is fair. Clearly, you don't want to void your warranty by even taking off the sticker to take out the fan for it to be cleaned and going deeper to clean the heatsink. Since you clearly haven't properly gained access to clean these two pieces of inner hardware, don't you think it's a bit arrogant to say "You're wrong" since you haven't tested my advice out for yourself or gotten someone to do it for you? Just a thought. Not saying you should test my advice out either, by the way. If you're not comfortable with disassembling your system or having someone else do it for you, that's fair. Just don't state some thought is wrong even though you never tested the legitimacy of the specific idea. By the way, I've seen this video and the other video that you provided a link for. In both videos, you have plenty of consoles inside of tightly spaced shelves which is a good recipe for rapid inner dust accumulation for systems. It's best not to leave your consoles in tight zones, just saying.
@@Los_da_gamer I say the procedure is wrong. Never disassemble a ps5 for a problem that can give you a new ps5. To void the warranty with unscrewing the screws is the biggest mistake someone can do. You know the minute you chose to use a torch screw driver to turn just a mm, Sony know that you disassembled their fan. For your information I know perfectly well how to handle consoles. I prev jailbreaked ps3 the old school way so I know very well and feel comfortable with opening and working inside of a console. When that being said, I am not stupid so I know the right way to handle a issue with a new gen console, and that is getting the faulty product replaced from the developers, in this case Sony. I always highly recommend people that have never opened a console not do it, worst case they brick the whole shit if something go wrong. (With ps5 is easy to snap wire that's connected to the fan when disassemble it, if so you have a new issue and no warranty)
To avoid going in circles with this discussion, I'll just back out of it. Hope your PS5 overheating and instant shutdown issue doesn't happen anymore. Good day to u. @@thepetcorner-
Quick question what did you tell Sony same exact same thing because I have the same issue as yours. I got my ps5 when it first came out as well, so it's the same thing as yours, also if they ask about warranty expired what did you tell them so I can tell them exactly as what you told them. Thank you please respond
I told them that they need to take mine in as a repair product duo to its not working how a console should be working. Before taking it in as a repair product they asked me if I tried different cables, tv, if I tried delete cache and cookies, safe mode etc to try fix the problem... I told them that I had every console from them since ps1 and never I experienced a console shutting of after playing game ment for the console. It must have longer then 2 years of living. I also confirmed I did all that. When saying this they agreed to take mine in as a repair product. They didn't tell me that I will get a new one. Then they sent me free shipping label on email. When I sent in my ps5 they sent a new one in return the same day they recived mine. Have not had any problems since I had this one 😊
Mine started when I play resident 4 remake 🤦♂️ it pissed me off when I would beat a boss and the cut scene hits and my ps5 turns off and I turn it back on and I have to fight the boss again and I’m playing hardcore so it was annoying trying to win again
I noticed my PS5 was really getting hot on the bottom were it stands up and I tried laying it down horizontal and my PS5 doesn't get hot anymore this solved my problem but my PS5 never overheated and shut off on me
same here. I just got my 1200 digital edition, & when i first started playing, maybe 2 hours & i had my PS5 standing vertical, or in the upright position, i felt the area near the wires, in back near bottom of console, it was very hot, almost like a hot pan off the kitchen burner. I removed the standing plate, which felt super hot, placed the PS5 in the horizontal position, & it felt so luke warm comparing to vertical, insane. i was surprised the difference in felt heat. i played GOD Ragnarok for 8 hours straight, still just warm, & more balanced throughout the back, not just in one spot. No wonder the liquid metal drips down, people who play it for many hours everyday, probably get most issues when vertical. Here;s Gmer Nexus vid on air flow restrictions in PS5, Start at 21:10 mark ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8FZ3cQFFZmQ.html .I have at least 6 inches of air space on all sides, & not in cabinet, learn from these early warning signs guys & gals. Good Luck !
@@tonesmokeoff9531 nope.. There’s only one sticker inside with an arrow next to it that you have to avoid and the sticker on the bottom with the serial number, everything else is fine as long as you don’t break anything when disassembling.
Don't listen to that, theres a new law where they absolutely can not void your warranty UNLESS you break something while doing so. If you can successfully clean it and not damage it, your warranty is not voided. Google it if you don't believe me because I'm dead ass serious.
Anyone having this issue probably has their PS5 plugged into a extension cord, these newer consoles pull more volts then the older ones and need to be hooked up directly to a wall outlet no extension cords or nothing, this solved my issues with my XSX and my PS5, was having the same issues with both and that solved my problems
No, that is not the issue with PS5 shuts off. Is duo to overheat in the cooling system. I used my PS5 in wall outlet when I had the problem. I's a design issue that cause a) Liquid Metal to por down inside machine if have it standing. 2) It blows dust directly in to heat system with a design that blow air in to almost each part of the machine. This is Sony's fault and is manufactured problem they must fix.
It overheats, try to remove dust from under the side panels. (Do not unscrew fan or anything) Use a vacum on low power and remove all visible dust. If this do not help then try to give Sony a call. Best case scenario they ask you to send it in, then they will clean heatsink and make sure your console have the right amount of cooling paste, or they will send you a new one duo to unfixable problem
Liquid metal does not leak. All of those rumors have been laid to rest. If so, it was somebody just making it up or something else happened. You shouldn’t post things unless it actually happens. I have two PlayStation fives and have had no problems even when playing High demanding games.
Nor me I have 2 release model and 2023 model no probs as yet but 2023 is smaller insides to combat that use fans for rear and under ps5 try the as see if you have s prob if it needs more air give it more air mine's sat by my window and never played with out natural air flow from window helping the fans do there job mine's always like a fridge with various hotspots but that's after use try use ps5 accesorrys to stop prob before it starts help the ps5 breath open a window much better for ps5 healthy and cool running hope you all got sorted and it's a prob sony should warn us or inform us they should also be tested before sale save us paying a huge fee to right the problem

My PS5 only shuts down playing 2K23 and Maddon 23 it trips my circuit breaker and knocks out all power to the room I have no idea of how to fix this issue... Any advice would be appreciated
Does anyone have the same problem as me with my ps5 like when I play ps4 games on it it doesn’t get hot but when I play ps5 games like apex and cod but I can feel the hotness coming off of my ps5 but it doesn’t overheat and my ps5 is horizontal But it’s only when I feel my console getting hot when I’m playing ps5 games
It’s normal for it to get hot but you need to put it vertically. That’s the best way. Also, PS5 games are much more demanding so yes it’s going to run hot. Nothing wrong mine does too.
I had mine since Feb 2 2021 a the only problem I had was it cutting off every now a then in the middle of a game other then that I would "restart it" or remove panels a vac both sides 👍
Did u ever play naraka bladepoint inside the PlayStation game for free ..did h have any issues shutdown? In case double confirmed my console or just an overheat ?
I just called and they want 250 dollars for a repair. I'm in the US and my warranty expired last year, what can I say to them? Is there a way to get this done for free and if so, did you do that or was yours covered by warranty?
This is actually a defect issue and go over warrant time. Sony are responsible for replace all faulty consoles with this defective issue. But if someone chose to open their console for try fix, they breech warranty and Sony can refuse to fix the defect issue cause they can blame issue on non technician being inside their console. Except from this, even if no warranty Sony will replace the faulty consoles. I recently had mine replaced, I bought mine pre order so no warranty, still I had the console replaced for free.
This is a manufacturing issue and not a warrant issue, if you break it, then the warrant is time limited. Here is something that is Sony's fault duo to design at sertain consoles. They must take it in as a faulty "defect" product. Same as the controllers with drift issue, there first gen controller have a issue that let you as customer get a new one in return from Sony if your controller have that issue, this is duo to is Sony's fault and not us as customers.

Apparently because of right to repair laws now you don’t void your warranty by opening it up - only if you break something of course! 😂 Not sure how true it is but apparently its legit.
Right to repair only count in the US, plus is almost impossible then to prove you did not cause the problem when Sony repair team see that it been dismounted before, so I would be on the safe side and send it in before I mess with it🙈

@@thepetcorner- Yeah I think people take this stuff too seriously. Yes, Xbox made mistakes 10 years ago with the Xbone, but many have been reversed or otherwise addressed. As far as jailbreaks, none exist on 8th and 9th gen Xbox, but instead dev mode is offered. In dev mode you can run emulators, homebrew, whatever. So I tell people who like classic retro systems like Gamecube, PS2, and everything before that - try an Xbox with emulators to get the best and cheapest console experience on that front. Plenty of tutorial videos online on how to set it up, and it's great for someone like me who lost all my Gamecube games years ago, or has old PS2 games to revisit. Bottom line, I just like games period, and while nothing is above criticism, I've found many of the complaints against Xbox are factually wrong or at least out of date. This is false. Liquid metal that spills damages the whole system. Secondly the magazine that started this rumor just retracted and said that is not the issue
Yeah, this is not true. That’s just a rumor that gets spread falsely. I have two PS5s standing vertically, and they have given me no problems whatsoever even with god of war Ragnarok. It’s perfectly normal for them to run hot out of the back. If anything else make sure the ventilation is good.
@@drummer7557 Yea I agree with you I got the Ragnarok bundle and I have it standing vertically and no issues so far 3 weeks later. All this Liquid metal leaking is all Lies and BS.
This is just for the purposes of helping others and is by no means any recommendations for others to follow my footsteps. If you can follow Sony's repair or warranty. My launch console is the 1000 series. 3 months out of warranty. Mine has had the same issue of random shutdown/game crash. Most times with an error code once system repair auto kicks in. Testing it over and over trying various recommendations from disabling the HDMI link, disabled the rest feature, rebuilt the data bases, re certify the licences, deleted and re-installed game data, system factory reset, installed the most recent build from Sony via a link from their customer support over the phone. They refused to repair the console being out of warranty. I made the decision to follow another RU-vid video on different levels of taking the system apart to access the various components. I started with not removing the warranty sticker and just using compressed air to attempt to blow out the vents. No fix. I went deeper into the system to access the heat sinks and power supply unit. This requires voiding any chance of warranty repair. I got as far into the heat sinks as far as I could easily see. Using a combination of electrical compressed gas and a brush with plastic bristles for things like hair. I also used the compressed gas to blow off the vent holes of the power supply unit. This fixed my issue for about a week then started again. I took it a step further accessing the GPU and bought a kit from Amazon to replace and move around the liquid metal portion of the cooling. That helped and lasted longer than before but eventually the issue returned a week later. I have also replaced the HDMI cord and the cord to the power supply unit. I'll keep exploring other ways of finding a fix. The next step will be to see how the liquid metal since being redistributed has settled again.

Yeah, I agree with you. From the consumer side of things, there is nothing that needs to be "fixed" with the PS5 if all that is being done is using your purchased warranty to send back a problematic console. With a PS5 that is causing problems, typically fixing something wrong with it is performed by opening up the system to clean or replace something or troubleshoot the system through the software of the system.@@evilmookey1067
Those fuckers at Sony don't do a goddamn thing about these problems. My games keep crashing often, and sometimes it's so annoying, that I don't wanna fucking play the fucking game anymore.
