Looks like the problem lies with the Denon receiver. I don’t have a faulty model. Apparently this is an issue with current AVR models. It passes through things just fine for the most part. However.. whenever something is changed, randomly there will be handshaking issues that blank out the picture or there are issues like this where the receiver doesn’t know what sort of image needs to pass through. Toggling off and on the controls for VRR seems to help when this happens. Womp womp

Julian Merkervor 0 Sekunden I need too know it too. I have a LGc9 and a Denon x2700h and have the same Problem. Somtimes the picture stays black and i have to switch the channel of the receiver and back to get it back. In some Games like Eldenring the Picture is getting black every few seconds.

@@Jumemai from what I’ve heard, denon is not the only brand with this issue. Thankfully e-arc handles most of my needs

Hi, this is their answer. Hi, This is an issue we're aware of since the latest update. We are investigating this and looking to fix via a firmware update. The issue is linked to Sony releasing the VRR update for the PS5 a few weeks ago. There're also issues of this nature for the Xbox Series X/S. VRR seems to work when colour is set to 8bit but not 10bit or above. We're confident that we've identified the issue and we are working on a fix. No timescales for when the update will be released but we're working on it. Thank you for your patience. Kind regards, Sound United Support

What happens to me on the Onkyo tx-nr6100s is that once I enable VRR on pS5 it will keep it that way...even though i turn it off on the PS5 the TV will still say its turned on (And it keeps it on...you can tell by the picture i have a 900h and its obvious when its on ....the auto local dimming is turned off)

E-arc seems to be my solution. As much as I didn’t want to go that way, the tv needs direct input

Check for a software update on the receiver. If not, you might have to use the e-arc port to relay this audio back to the receiver and run the console straight through the television.

Please reply, My PS5 was on its home screen. No apps, games, updates, saves were running in the background. Power outage happens, i turn on my ps5 back on after power returns. It shows processing , repairing console storage and your ps5 wasnt turned off properly screen. Is my Ps5 normal as before?

Yea it’s normal. That’s just one of the annoying things about Sony. Japanese consoles aren’t as good with software. That’s one thing Microsoft has over sony. Mine does the same thing. If you want to avoid it, I suggest buying a UPS. Which is a battery backup you plug into the wall which prevents that

@Emaan Arora Plays yeah, that was a problem for like every Sony console. I know my PS4 used to yell at me whenever the power would go out. And I think maybe the PS3 did the same thing. I don’t know why Sony does that or creates consoles that can’t handle a power outage

I bought an AVS-3 HDMI Switch and..it's buggy as hell. Series X Dashboard: 4K@120 Hz@RGB 10b@VRR (SDR); In Game: 1/10 I have a 4K@120 Hz@RGB 10b@VRR (HDR), ftl 40 Gbps. 9/10 I have a SDR image with washed colours; Dolby Vision in game: It works. I have always the correct image 4K@120 Hz@YCbCr422@VRR (DV), because the ftl is 32 Gbps; PS5 Dashboard: 4K@60Hz@RGB 12b@FIXED (HDR); In Game: 4K@60 Hz@RGB 12b@VRR (HDR) in Spider-Man Remaster during opening and main menu. In game, i have 4K@120 Hz@YCbCr422@VRR (HDR). When i return to the dashboard and close the game, the new handshaking fails and i must switch from PS5 to TV and viceversa to have the video outuput; 4K@60 Hz@RGB 12b@VRR (HDR) in games without official VRR support.

@@carnage4907 I can't use earc. My samsung won't let anything above 5.1 Dolby with that setup ☹ It's definitely the Denon. Directly to the TV I get no issues

LG-C1. I figured out that it’s my denon receiver. I am plugged directly into the tv now and it’s perfect

Yes it does. I do it all the time. The problem is the handshaking with the PS5’s VRR when it turns on. My series X passes through 4K/120 with VRR just fine. And I can make it so the Ps5 does it right if I toggle the VRR option off then on in the system settings. And this doesn’t happen with every game

@@carnage4907 Check your model… Best Buy lists many Denon models that don’t support 4K/120 from all media sources and PS5 is likely one of them

@@janderson0719 it runs 4K at 120 just fine from the PS five. It’s a problem with the handshaking when VRR is engaged on the PS five. I run PS five games at 120 frames through the receiver all the time. In the video I even show that I play the game at 120hz without a problem. It’s a matter of switching to VRR mode. My previous reply already answered you, it passes through 120hz content from the PS five just fine.

I have the Denon S760h, which does exactly what I’m saying. So do you understand what I’m saying? I’ve been running 120hz games from my ps5 through the reciever for almost a year and a half. This issue only started when the VRR update went into effect. In this other video, at 25 seconds I switch to 120hz mode in Uncharted and everything works fine, except LG for some reason says a 12bit image is 8bit. Which is an actual thing. So no, it’s not that the receiver can’t do 120 from the ps5. It’s the switch to VRR that seems to trip the receiver up. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dEj-YJ2-LtI.html
