Seems like it's running pretty smoothly right now. It's kinda bizarre that you are the only guy trying to review this currently. I guess the Leviathan tribe didn't get any juicy offers for this gun. Keep it up!
Appreciate the effort and cost of the review. The ammo isn’t bad but I do think there has been some bad batches. Bad polymer/laquer coatings specifically. I’ve had stuck cases in guns that don’t have these issues. Like Mcx beryl m90 Galil etc. So it’s the extra soft gassing plus the crappy polymer plus the need for some break in due to soft gassing. The stock an lever are typical PSA, and not what ya want. The only peening is on the caming lug. The other is wear in and normal. The “white” showing on the bolt face is normal. Your chamber/barrel face does look like it’s been stabbed by rounds or Jason, but looked like paint mostly and not in the metal? If your on Reddit come to r/ak47 and I’ve got a comparison for beryl/m90/101/102/PAC. Glad ya got some mags. Thanks and keep it up. Hope this doesn’t sound preachy.
I just ordered the 102 version pin and welded. I only have owned one AK and i sold that last year. Lately I've been wanting to get back into the platform but on 556. No reason to switch calibers. I just gotta fill that AK itch/ void i have in me.
I was looking at getting PSA AK-101 to scratch my 100 series itch I have a wasr10 and a 5.56 pioneer arms forged series 5.56 AK has forged front trunnion and forged bolt, I put a FB Radom Beryl firing pin, my Tula plum 74 mags with conversion followers work, circle 10 mags work in it, fb Radom Beryl mags work in it, I have used pufgun mags they work, I was able to get two Russian izmash AK-101 5.56 mags from someone they were not cheap but they function and rock and lock it soooo smooth, but I feel like ammo for 5.56 right now is plentiful in the armor piercing and tracer department I love shooting m-855 and tracer rounds at my cheap steel targets and shooting cheap lapg brand level iv plates I buy. I'm just switching to 5.56 AKs now, 7.62x39 is the master race of course, but I have AKM buying an AK -103 is like buying another AKM.
If you have ever seen Lucky Gunner Labs 10k Torture for 5.56 Ammo you will know that WOLF and TULA or pretty horrible especially consistency wise they just were all over the board, under/overpowered tearing up the barrels and throat of the barrels along with the gas ports its just bad ammo in general
@@Vernhyde Wolf branded .223 ammo, when manufactured at Barnaul, is pretty consistent and I have found it very accurate. I've chronographed it and it is more consistent than Lake City 5.56 and just as consistent as Speer .223 Gold Dots. In 7.62 it is extremely consistent with low double digit SDs and sub moa out of a Ruger Ranch Rifle.
@@davidfrye7713 sample size of one user without much data to back it up does not prove much of anything. Lucky Gunner at least gives data and has sources showing that both Wolf and Tula kinda suck while being transparent about the process they do for testing.
@@Vernhyde One user, multiple different rifles, multiple cartridges chamberings, multiple lots, and multiple times chronographing and accuracy testing. Barnaul loaded ammo in .223 & 7.62x39 is accurate and consistent. Rob Ski's results as well as others back up my own results. Read the Lucky Gunner article and tell me what SDs they got with Wolf and where that particular lot of Wolf was manufactured if they identify it. Wolf is an importer, not a manufacturer.
Some of that looks like finish wear and I would not be sweating it. On the other hand some of that may need to be monitored...bolt lugs especially. Did you say the feeding issue was with the tula mag? It's 5.45 not 556. A different follower is required. I'm surprised it even fits in the gun. My zastava m85 has similar wear on bolt lugs but no issues throu 2k or so rounds. Don't mind the round down for this. Not a bad video overall. Good looking gun too.
Gonna be awhile for kusa. Especially since they announced they are volunteering to stop online(private) sales… either middle man or have to buy used if ya don’t have a dealer nearby.
@@Luftwaffles69 Idk according to Reddit it has. But they also get on trends of hating on shit. It’s a snowball of shit if it becomes trendy, or on ppls minds. I’ve seen it with other brands also. Kinda a bad data point
@AgoodenoughGunner That's cool, I check on their site from time to time. but have never even seen the 101 listed. I'll have to ask next time I'm by my FFL
I shot a mag of steel case that was YEARS old...cannot blame a "bad batch". If an AK cannot cycle and it finicky on what it shoots....It's GARBAGE. I never had steel shoot bad from my PSA AR builds either...I agree with everything you've shown as I have about 300 rounds and I'm SO disappointed in the PSA AK101.
I have bought 3 WBPs that have all been immaculate. All in 7.62. I got to shoot a Zastava M90 recently and it was really good. I was impressed with it. I would not hesitate to buy either the Jack or M90 in 5.56.
7:43 cam path, rarely discussed term. I'd have to see it in person to be sure but that wear looks a bit ridiculous on the bolt. Barrel no opinion. Looks like they stopped "chamfering" the fucking front trunnion, finally. What they did to Garand Thumb's rifle was fucking hilarious. "Oh, the bolt isn't timed correctly with the APE engagement system and it's eating the trunnion? Just take a chunk out of the trunnion so it looks as if it's normal. : )" The literal equivalent of if they didn't have an AR15 barrel timed correctly and the bolt lugs were taking a chunk out of the barrel extension before rotating past and locking, and instead of fixing it they just cut corners off the barrel extension's teeth.
My psak74 cam path was way worse, it literally rolled a piece into a sliver. the bolt lug was peened over as well. its been sent back for over a month now, warranty. Still no word back from psa. Initially it locked the bolt in after a shot, then wouldnt go back into battery. Probably a problem with the early production metallurgy. None of my other ak’s even come close to that kind of failure with many more rounds through than the psa. Hope they can fix mine i really like it otherwise.
Yeah, that's the super unfortunate part. A little more due diligence and intention would fix a ton of their issues, and for not much more money they could make absolutely awesome stuff. I hope this is a thing that stops happening when they stop being an ever-expanding tycoon empire thing.@@BubbaJaeger
US is making best AKs right now. US can make best fighter jets and aircraft carriers. Tell me what fighter jets or aircraft carrier does Bulgaria, Romania or Russia have 😆
