@@NEO_Cards_Comics Yeah, uh huh. You think this ends with us eating BGS’s lunch? No brother, this is just the beginning. Slowly, but surely, people are getting sick of the status quo. They want something “better”, and it’s only a matter of time before all the big graders get crushed under the weight of their own hubris. Logical people said, “Hey, I want to know why my card got the grade that it did,” TAG was there. “Upcharges are BS,” TAG was there. “It would be nice to have customer service who cares,” TAG was there. While the other graders are leaving their customer’s needs and wants in the rubbish bin, TAG will always be there to answer the call.

My best guess for TAG is people sending in for the initial grad and report to see if the card is worth spending the money to grade with PSA. $15 and 5-10 days is not a bad investment to be sure when you're about to spend $100+ on a card that has wide value differences between an 8, 9, and 10.

It's interesting to see CGC with a gemrate around 50% for the second month in a row. That's much higher than they normally are and higher than SGC. Wonder if they finally figured out they need to ease up on how hard they were grading?

@rattlepokemon also believes a repacker has partnered with tag. Similar to the CGC spikes that gemrate has previously noted.

Only 1.1m “flow line” holders to maybe re-holder. It seems to me PSA is specializing each month on a specific sport. I wonder when they’ll get back to all sport specials?

I love tag for my PC sports cards. All they ever advertise about though are TCG stuff and these silly cards of your own pic they make. Idk where they are going but I want them to gain more traction in sports space. The slab and grading service is great, much prefer for modern to all the others. Call me a bot or whatever, idk how else to say something positive about a company service

well itll tell you where they arent going and thats for sale. That collector, the pokemon collector just does not deal their graded slabs the same way sports cards are dealt, its absolutely clear.

650 cards in a month?!?!... so they are down to one grader doing 22 cards per day, average... they are basically, 'Bob's Grading Service' at this point... Should be plenty of time to include grader's notes and more...

These PSA specials still don't tip the boat for me. I can still use SGC, save a $1 per card, declared value is still 1500 or less (with a lower "up charge" rate), have a more accurate & constant service, and all for a faster turnaround time. I get why it would for a lot of people but I'm a bit harder to please in this space and PSA is starting at a disadvantage with my low opinion of them.

Psa owns the market you save 1$ per card but a sgc 10 will never be worth more than a psa 10…

@@SwapMeet_SportsCards The thing is 1 I don't care. The "premium" of PSA isn't worth it for me and 2. I'm not fully convinced that SGC's values will never catch PSA's considering the values have closed since 2020 (and SGC cards are usually "first to market" and have the same initial sales prices for the extra couple of months that it takes PSA to churn your cards out). Not that PSA cares if they have me as a customer but they have some major work to do to get me as a customer and this doesn't move the needle for me.

@@themandalorian400 1. no one cares that you save a dollar per card either 2. Is buying cardboard even worth it … if your gonna hold long term go with the brand with the strongest market. I use both but I actually look at my cards before I send them in I hardly ever get 8s or lower with psa and have never been up-charged. Idk how it’s not worth premium they are the best brand for grading point blank.

@@SwapMeet_SportsCards There are people who care about saving money. That's why there are people who wait exclusively for these specials to run before grading. Without the market for it a for profit organization like PSA or SGC wouldn't make these specials. As for the second part, I come from the point of view of a pure collector. I rarely sell or trade anything. For me getting a card graded has less to do with its value creation than putting it in a holder that displays the card the best. For me (and a small but growing part of the collecting community) SGC is the best company. On top of the things that I mentioned in my original comment, I personally believe the best slab design is SGC's (and for the record I do believe that PSA's design is the worst of the big 4). I'm not focused on maximizing the value/profit margin of my collection. I know that makes me a unicorn in the modern card world but that's just how I'm choosing to enjoy collecting.

PSA Should start grading at the new jerseys office because they only do psa/ DNA on their items. Psa truly needs to stop screwing up on grading card's and keep vintage baseball ,football,basketball and hockey graders separate from morden card's. Rickey henderson rookie card is 44 years old now how long before it becomes vintage baseball card's. 1980 topps baseball set.
