Filmed in the summer of 2021, Ryan drives to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to pick up a Borg Warner Overdrive transmission. On the way, there is a great camping spot next to an abandoned highway bridge, but will the noise from nearby traffic allow for a good nights sleep?

Ryan, I'm happy to see you got the video up and running. AS I write it's November 7th ,here in Ferndale, WA and it' suddenly gotten really cold for this time of year, 20's at night low thirties right now,and flurries, way early and the first of the season. Very unusual , mid forties or low fifties is what it should be (not Celsius:)), , I hope this isn't an omen of the winter...yikes. Gravel roads and speed equal broken windshields, I almost had that happen on a dirt road in Arizona in the desert. I was going well over forty in one direction and a truck was coming toward me and PING, a chip out of the car window, I really slowed down after that! Beautiful country there on the Canadian Prairie! Cheers, Rik

I totally know the rock in the windshield thing. About a month ago I had a baked potato sized rock come flying out of the duals of a concrete truck. Long story short, they bought me a new windshield. It was very loud and I'm amazed how strong a windshield really is! We have also been cold up here and lots of snow too the last few days!

the new bridge was opened in 1978 or 9, I was still in highschool and went to the official opening of it with an older neighbour who's son was Hwy minister at the time. I'm not sure when the second bridge opened, for quite a while traffic went both ways on the new bridge.

Great work man! My favourite drive in the world is Hiway 16 across the prairies. I just recently re did my friends 49 Ford OD. It never worked since he bought the car about 10 years ago. I really enjoyed that challenge and it works great now. Cheers! Love your channel!
@ParklandFilms
@ParklandFilms Год назад
Thanks Brian, I just LOVE the OD (spoiler alert, I installed it this summer, video coming) and it is so simple to troubleshoot once you understand how it works. It totally changed how the car drives, it's amazing.

@@ParklandFilms They are simple! And so beautiful to work on and to use. Like I mentioned earlier my friends unit never worked when he bought the car. So after a little trouble shooting I took it out and apart and found someone earlier had forced the retainer ring that holds the pall in place to get the snap ring in bending the retainer out of shape. This prevented the reverse lock out shaft from operating fully so mechanically it would not engage OD. After correcting that a bench test proved it operational. It still would not work once installed when I found the relay defective. Actually it was the wrong relay. So once it was replaced and wiring corrected it worked perfectly. A bit of a head scratcher but a lot of fun to get going. You will certainly enjoy this feature!

Wow! I'm a girl. I've worked on many of my own cars nothing major of course but I did replace the carrier bearing in an extended mission laundry van, and I replaced a fuel injector in my 1989 Jeep Cherokee, I adjusted lifters in my. 1970 Chevy Malibu , and I was happy I didn't have to work on the Old Mercury my Grandpa gave me that was a push button transmission two-tone Factory dark blue green and light green hardtop. Boy! I sure wish I had that car now! But watching your video now I would sure like to find a shop service manual or anything, as in a n y- manual for this '78 Grumman Olsen step bread delivery on a Ford Chassis with the 300 straight 6 that I own. It would be an absolute Jewel to have it actually physically in hand. I don't have a computer everything I do is on my phone. And it's painstaking to find anything let alone shop manuals for older vehicles and older parts for older vehicles especially well, maybe not especially but my truck isn't the ordinary. I wish I could send a picture. I call her my great white g r u m m y- bear.:-) I mentioned 300 straight six Ford four-speed. Just put a new carburetor one barrel which changed it from manual to automatic? C h o k e. I used it for dog grooming until my back broke I've had it 20 years and my goal is to build her out so that I can comfortably and safely travel. Miracles were mentioned regarding Chris and the bus. Many have happened with me in many ways over a lifetime so I hope you don't mind me sharing and I'm just thinking no matter how many miles between there's a network of positive minded people growing that give a hoot🤠🦉 I'm hanging on to coattails working up. I figure something's got to give with God's help. That's powerful help when you think about it.💫 thank you!!

Oh yeah. I commented extensively on your series about Chris. I think I mentioned in there about my 1978 Grumman Olson Hostess Wonder Bread delivery Step Van, on a Ford Chassis 300 straight 6. I did leave my number I don't know if that's proper or if could even get to you or anyone you know. I'm writing all my comments today which is the 12th of November 2022. I'm not real good at all this stuff but I'm doing my best to reach out to people that I feel have a spiritual motivation and loving heart. I'm alone I have one kitty and had him for 17 years but I need to get on the road and really connect in order to get up north to Idaho where my mom is. She's 89 and we have a dream:-) thank you PS my Grumman runs well with a new but same as original one barrel carburetor and some TLC after my back broke and had to put it on a non-op for many years. I've spent all I can physically and financially to get it going and I still need tires but, two out of the four dually in the back are holding air:-) and I have 9 days to get everything off this property or I lose it. So I'm being a big mouth and actually shouting out for myself I don't do that often. I don't think I've ever done that because I've been capable of doing it myself at least that was my vision of grandeur hahaha:-) it would be so cool if somebody responded for no other reason than just camaraderie as I tried to make this deep dish effort:-) not a last ditch effort haha! Thank you for your time

I know exactly where you camped. For future trips, there is what used to be an actual camp ground (now closed but still open) on the other side of the river. You can even park right under the noisy bridge if you need shelter.

@@ParklandFilms My old beater is still getting us from A to B - but it could probably benefit from a few days with Eric! Do you happen to know what town that Borden bridge was near? My grandmother was a Borden - they lived near Kerrobert.

@@carolesemkowich7200 I'm glad the car is still serving you! The bridge is about 30 minutes NW of Saskatoon, then another 10 minutes and you find the town of Borden. My wifes relatives have a farm east of Kerrobert, the MacArthur family. I'm sure your grandmother knew them, it's a small community!

I had a 50 Meteor like that parts car you found but mine was fully restored, I have no idea where it is now as it was years ago I sold it. I had it in the world of wheels once and got first prize trophy for my class of car.

Right on. When I grew up in northern Alberta, there was a 52 or 53 Meteor abandoned on our property and I spent countless hours playing in it. I remember I could wind up the clock on the dash and it would work for days.
