Sahlo Folina technically means nothing. I think Tyler said in an interview he felt it was powerful to give meaning to something that means nothing, and that nothing else could describe what he was feeling for the bridge

Tom, you’re so good at twenty one pilots lyrics! You always get the meaning even without the lore! Sahlo folina was what the banditos (the clique) used for help. Like throwing yellow flowers out! It’s hope!

Sahlo Folina I think roughly translates to expressing creativity - I believe Sahlo is Somalian Sahlo Folina is also an anagram for All Ohio Fans - a nod to the original fanbase No idea how he puts all this stuff together

This song always gets me. I believe its a reflective moment, especially the placement in the album - right after Cut My Lip, where Tyler talks about how he is beaten and bruised through the process of writing Trench. But he ends that song with the imagery of a pride of lions, leaning on each other. And we are the Banditos, the pride of lions, taking the journey between two places, and helping others break free from Dema. As others have mentioned, Sahlo Folina doesn’t have a literal translation, but rather is the cry the Banditos make when they need help. Because one of the core messages of Trench is that we aren’t alone. The journey may be difficult and Tyler intentionally doesn’t say where the journey out of Dema and through Trench will lead. Can’t wait to see how Tyler concludes this narrative. “Either way it helps to hear these words bounce off of you / The softest echo could be enough for me to make it though” And that references the power of the TØP concerts - we give him more than a soft echo 😹 But it’s a powerful experience being together singing these songs that help us continue the journey and not lose hope. it also fits perfectly that tylern said that bandito took the longest for him and was the last song he finished, its literally a bitter sweet ending for him of his journey through trench

Sahlo Folina is an anagram for "halo of nails," which can also be interpreted as a symbol of the crown of thorns that Jesus was forced to wear before His death. Tyler is a Christian and loves putting Christian themes into his songwriting. He said that Sahlo Folina is something that people can think about or say when they are in a very dark place or in need of help.💛 |-/

The Banditos are the ones in the Trenches, helping each other through this world. I love his references to other songs in this one, fire and bullet proof, neon glass. Also love the line about how the echoes (us) can be enough to get him through. And as Tyler reminds us every time we celebrate that at a concert, "we're twenty one pilots and so are you!" |-/ 💛💛

I got to see this live in 2018. They would go to the B stage. Tyler would dance during the instrumental section at the end. One of the best concerts I ever attended. Saw it in Phoenix Arizona at the Walking Stick Arena

I had been listening to this song for several years on a regular basis and always heard/sung, "so long for me now" when he sings Sahlo Folina and was absolutely perplexed when I first saw the real words. I feel like the way I was singing it was basically the same meaning anyway though - a cry for help. I later read on reddit the following theory as well: "'Sahlo' means, 'to enable' in Somali. 'Folina' is a name, and according to a name website it means, 'happiness expressed in some creative, artistic way.' So 'Sahlo Folina' might also mean, 'enabling expressive creation'. This makes a lot of sense considering the next verse is all about his ability to create the world of Trench." I love how many theories and answers there are from fans when they hear those words. Because essentially - it means whatever it needs to mean to whoever hears/speaks it.

Honestly, I always thought that he was saying "falling so low". Wow! I feel silly. My favorite parts of the song are when Josh's drums increase with intensity and then drop back down.

The Crucible is a playwright *my father is a Drama major when 'Texas State University,' used to be "SouthWest Texas University" *San Marcos, Texas. The Crucible talks dives into the mythology of witches back in the day... how you don't necessarily need to cast spells so much as people trying to protect their people would traditionally use other methods of worship... you could think of the slaughtering of the lamb, gathering around 'witches brew' or the sacrifice of Issac by his own father in the Bible *blood*. This is symbolism and it portrays the importance of traditions and depth. Today we are shallow and expect to gain everything easily... When you look at history and traditional cultures there is depth that helps portray a deeper meaning and understanding, rather than just taking out our phones and googling answers to questions that need contemplation, meditative mental action (to gain clarity), and abstract thinking. Many people, kids, are relying on A.I. to find answers that take diving deeper into history, culture and traditions of all peoples *not just your own fathers traditions* in order to understand other people and have sympathy, empathy and understanding so that we may transcend the chaos around us to find order.

this song makes me cry everytime :’) it brings me back to my first tøp concert, it was one of the last songs they played, everyone had flashlights on and were just emotional - maybe because we knew that the concert would soon be over, or because its just a beautiful and meaningful song.

Being a bandito is a lot more than just the way that folks are going the path unbeaten but also getting beaten up all along to try and help others...just like you're describing. Could mean neither is true but what you make it to be for yourself. That's the beauty of TOP music...its true art for the audience to translate for themselves and how their picture can mean a million words. ❤️

To me, Sahlo Folina is a mixture of the anima and the animus... feminine/masculine.... we need to keep our families intact to better protect community, so that we can defeat and come together against the evil natures that are surrounding us at all times & on all fronts. GOOD VS. EVIL. *Sahlo is masculine... could be a father, brother, cousin, friend, and He could take on good or evil. Evil protects evil, good protects good.* -*Folina is feminine and that will be the opposite :: mother, sister, aunt, friend, cousin etc....* Side note... (to me, my opinion) Sahlo sounds like he is saying (SO LOW) *think of lane boy live... he says stay low.... then this takes us to the military and 'Ride'... when he tells the crowd to jump during Lane Boy live... he is telling the crowd to get up and MOVE... be an army... we will always have wars and will you be ready for your people?

I was looking for the comment that would suggest you to find a video of this song live but no one has said it yet so I will. This song was a staple during The Bandito Tour. Someone put together mini clips of every venue they performed this song and made a whole video, it's amazing. Ill leave the link to the video so you can watch it and enjoy it!
