The most amazing horror film I have ever watched. I first watched it at 10 years old, it gave such a scared excited thrill for being scared and it still gives me that fear to this day and I still love to watch all 3 movies back to back!!! I pray for a candyman4

Best horror / monster villain of all time for me. I am a fanatic of the obvious. Michael Jason Freddy Pinhead Chainsaw etc But there’s something about Tony Todd in this movie that’s stuck with me all these years. Also the soundtracks one of the best of all time by Philip Glass. I watched Part 1 today (only one to watch) and it still breaks my heart to pieces. He is justified for why he does what he does and that’s what makes it so sad. Outstanding cast and just something you will never replicate. Forget the remake. There’s only ONE CandyMan and his name is Tony Todd

He is the perfect mix of Frankenstein and Dracula. The nice touch was in how she is hypnotized by him. He is very much Bram Stokers Dracula except there is a realism brought in with his son of a slave origin and subsequent lynchingin that accentuates the horror. What a brilliant film. She is shot in a soft glow of a classic heroin. So much subtext there.

Pinhead is also brilliantly cast. There is something about how Clive Barker brings a very new slant to the traditional horror and lays on the subtext. It feels so fresh even 25 years later. Nightbreed and Hellraiser are also notable horror movies of the time. Stephen King is also one of those enduring writers who is great with subtext.

Bernard rose sounds exactly like the author in the movie. “Purcell” the one who describes what happen to him, who died in 2nd one in beginning.

One of the great horror stories. It’s quite surprising that many people who I talk to, have not heard about the movie. Then immediately my natural response is to tell them that they must see it, as it is one of the greatest horror movies of all time!
