PTX - Coffee In Bed FIRST REACTION! (livestream 18/06/2023) 

Kevin went rogue with his percussion. Matt killed his part and did all of the bass drops. Scott and Mitch slayed the lead parts. Kirstie took a secondary roll here but was still integral to the song. All in all, this is one of my favorite PTX originals.

Absolutely love this original! Matt and Kevin are so good in this!!! Their cover of The Greatest Show is worth hearing, but a warning..... you will get Mitch slapped!

This is one of my all-time favorites. It's just sooo well-done and rich in its sound. Matt's bass is fantastic, he sounds for all the world like a cello and a synth. I think Kirsty was giving a lot of those higher, string-plucking sounds that gave it that instrumental sound. And of course Kevin is on fire, and Scott and Mitch's vocals are gorgeous.

You heard a lot of Kirstie. She was making all of those amazing sounds you thought sounded like instruments.

This is from Pentatonix's 2020-21 originals album, The Lucky Ones. It was co-written by Scott, Mitch and the two album producers, Koma and Book. On this album, they ignored the a capella "rules" and worked with a variety of songwriters, producers, vocal editors, etc. to get a current pop sound. The staccato notes in the background that sound like pizzicato strings might be strings, or synths or possibly their voices, but in any case have been processed for a synth sound. They have been performing this live this year on their tour as part of a "The Lucky Ones Medley" and use a pre-recorded track. Another wonderful original from PTX. Kevin steals the show with his incredible beat boxing, but the whole song features everything you want, a catchy tune, a repeating chorus, great harmonies, superb leads, and great choreography. A 100% winner.

They sometimes use instruments, but not with this song. I think Kirstie was involved with a lot of the effects. Recommend their cover of Seasons Of Love (PBS televised version).

Kevin is the unsung hero in this song for me. Not only is he beatboxing almost continuously throughout the song, but he's doing it so FAST! And he's driving the song along, keeping that beat going and going!
