Public Guess My Age Before & After Hair Replacement 

I always had mild empathy for ppl loosing their hair, but never thought much about it, then I got sick and handfuls of hair started coming out. Devastating. I had waist length hair I was incredibly vain about, but one thing I’ve learned is that life will strip any vanity away. Just give it time. I ended up having to cut 2 feet of hair off bc it looked straggly and horrible & I always wore hats. I bought wigs but they looked kinda crazy bc I have no desire to learn how to lay a wig. Fortunately for me my dr got be sorted and I’m not dependent on hats anymore, but I live with the fear that my hair will start falling out again bc my illness is chronic. But I’ve also learned that I look good in hats. I’m also lucky bc women have a lot more options in the hat dept. But srsly it’s very cool that dudes have more options. I know guys are sht on for caring about how they look, but we all care about that sht. The world is extremely judgmental & it takes immense confidence to say fck it & be happy even when you don’t fit the world’s arbitrary beauty standard.

I'm losing my hair and as a woman, it's not something I can easily get away with; the bald patches were becoming more noticeable. I finally grew my hair to my shoulders but that also meant longer hair was ending up in my food, in my bed, on my floor. My vacuum cleaner was working overtime clearing up the fallen hair. I decided in December 2023 to shave it all off. I get odd looks still but for different reasons. My Doctor wouldn't even send me to a specialist to find out if I had alopecia, he just said it happens with age 🙄😡 I'd do anything to have my previously thick hair back but it's a losing battle when your Doctor refuses to help. I suppose I'll get used to having a shaved head. It's grown about half an inch and I'm already seeing short hair falling out, most noticeably when I'm reading a book and see little hair on the pages.
