Raul's right about the people. I was on a scooter when the traffic lights went down on a major road with no sidewalks or shoulder. A stranger pulled over and offered a ride which I gratefully accepted - wasn't even throwing out a hitchhiker thumb or anything.

I would disagree with some remarks. I have lived in PR exclusively for 20 years. It is true that people are generally cordial and friendly here . The problem is that it is very family-centred, and it is extremely difficult to get accepted as an outsider, particularly if you are not Puerto Rican. Also, not all neighbourhoods are friendly. They can be just as isolated as in States with neighbours not particularly friendly. I have experienced this in many places and areas. Another caution: titles for propertis are done by lawyers at great expense, especially for expensive properties, as the lawyer will actually charge a percentage of the property's value, though he does no more work than for a lesser value property. Over and over I learned that you cannot trust the attorney to do his job correctly or quickly. He will demand his fees up front, and you end up usually with problems or delays. It would be much better if as a buyer you could select the attorney, as when the seller picks his lawyer, you will never be a priority. Be cautious when making deals with or without an agent. The culture and seller lawyer status will always work against a buyer from the states.

The guy that gave you the seeds sounds like an immigrant from Dominican Republic working at the restaurant in PR. They are great people who contribute a lot to PR economy,

Raul, you're awesome my brother. Would love to meet you someday in the future when my wife and I decide to buy a house there…I was Born in New Jersey in the 60’s and residing in Florida. It’s time to move back to my homeland Puerto Rico and retire. The Island is calling me back.

Hi Diane! I am always learning from your videos! I am also friends with your friend Will 🤗 so I am closing on my house this Friday and on my contract I see home insurance but broker is asking me to pay for home insurance. Does that mean I’m buying it twice?

I forgot to add that Puerto Rico is still one of the best places in the world to live, and in many ways superior to living in USA.
