Even though I'm a 2000s kid, the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was a part of my childhood that I will never forget.

I heard this as I stared into a fire and I swear I'd achieved true peace.

My momma just died a few days ago and this song really gets to me. Sadly my mother was a Schizophrenic who's imagination blended with reality but she was always super sweet and loving. I'm gonna use your music at her funeral becasue it's the best rendition of the song. This is the worse pain I have ever felt in my life.

This makes me remember the most beautiful things that has happened to me in childhood and it makes me cry why can’t we have amazing moments all the time?

I was looking for a more brass focused song but this was absolutely magical as I kid who watched the movie I remember sitting with my family watching the movie cracking jokes and laughing during the movie. Those are the times I wish I could go back to even if it’s just once and relive the moment of pure bliss and happiness. Even as I grow older I shall never forget the warmth of that moment and many others

I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate factory on the Broadway tour once, and this song was SO magical. I believe it was used as an opening to the musical as an overture, might’ve played again at the end I don’t quite remember. This is the only thing that comes anywhere near close to hearing an orchestra play it live. This makes me so emotional because the musical was so good and I would do anything to see it again.

my 7th grade year we did Willy Wonka as our musical at a small private school so we had 7th-12th graders. I played charlie bucket and it was truly one of the best times of my life. Never again will i get to experience such a feeling as freeing as the magic of finding the golden ticket. Now i am headed to college carrying on Charlie's legacy. never take your young years for granted

This sounds like a perfect faithful recreation of the instrumental of the song when they enter the chocolate room. But my favorite part, which they haven't done yet is the violin solo at the end of the film. That part to me is special.

When I was little I didn’t know what the song was from, I just heard it at the end of an animation on RU-vid. It was the end of the day and it was too loud for me so I tried to not panic by humming the tune. Kids, the teacher, and teacher assistant stared at me and after a minute a bunch of the kids started giggling and mocking me. This was in about 4th grade maybe? And it’s funny how I’m going into high school as a freshman this year and every time I hear the song all I think of is kids bullying me for humming it.
