Purge These Toxic Jehovah’s Witness Mindsets! 

I wish I watched this film back in 2002. It would have saved me a lot of suffering and bad decisions made when I realized I was out of the cult but didn't realize the cult wasn't out of me.

Wish I could like this video a thousand times. Very important topic. We were never taught self care. We were always on a hamster wheel. There was no such thing as “me time”. Really appreciate your videos Justin.

So GOOD. your head is squarely om your shoulders. Excellent information. I am in my 70's now, my younger life was wasted in this organization with all their destructive selfish requirements. I walked away years ago, went back to college, studied full time, and got myself a well paying job. So much happier, I threw of their shackles. If you leave this Cult, make sure to find a purpose and pursue it, it will open doors, be strong.

Thanks for video. One thing that I am finding out is once you leave this toxic mindset, it is hard to have any conversation with those that are still in the “fold”. Within a few minutes of conversation, they are hardwired to shift into speaking of the “truth”. For your mental health, it’s probably better to severely limit interactions. That’s probably why they fear those who left more than normal “worldly” people. Take care.

The hypocrisy was a hard one for me to understand as a child. Because my father was an elder but he would come home and beat us if we hadn't done something right. I would come home from school every Wednesday and that happened to be meeting night and my job was I had to wash the car and vacuum it on the inside and I would take the car mats and wash them and I'd lay them out to dry well if he got in the car and the mats hadn't been put back in the car I was told that I was going to get a belt when we got home from the meeting. So I sat through the whole meeting scared about going home and getting a beating. I mean to me that seems absolutely insane to go into a religious meeting trying to feel good and get something out of it and all you're doing is thinking about about your father who everybody loves and he's a great example as an elder in the congregation and to see him hangs out with all the young kids and they like him and he has so much fun with them but he doesn't have any respect or love for me when you go home. He also made meetings a dread because we would try to get ready and if we weren't ready the minute he wanted us to be we may not have our shoes on or something he would threaten us that we would go to the meeting and I would just have to go without my shoes. And every meeting was like that it was horrible trying to get ready to go and then horrible being there knowing what the aftermath would be. And then to see so many of the younger kids or teenagers that were so happy and somewhat popular in the congregation their families would do all kinds of things they go to parties or skating and different things like that as a group and my father would never let me associate with anybody. So the happiest people on earth is an out-and-out lie!

All of the JW videos show that getting a promotion at work will cause more stress and make you work more hours... in my case it was the opposite, when I got promoted and got a salaried position, I actually worked fewer hours and had more flexible of a schedule. Also, more money may allow you to buy a more reliable car and spend less time fixing a crappy car. Every situation is different but the GB tries to generalize situations and prejudice people against bettering themselves.

I will put this video on repeat! I'm still working on boundaries and breaking these mindsets.

There's another one that was popular in my day. Let's say you and your buddy like a certain activity or a hobby. It isn't a bad thing. Let's say you two like collecting stamps. When the two of you get together you naturally start talking about stamps. Then someone who is listening asks the question "what if that stumbles someone?" The problem isn't the question. It's the intent of the question. It's meant to put a control rod into your activity in order to stop you from doing it. The person asking the question has judged what you were doing as inappropriate and acts to put a stop to something they don't like. My response to the question (on the two separate occasions it was asked) was to tell the person they don't need to come to my house if my "stamp collecting" stumbles them. Of course this is the wrong answer and you are then judged as being "materialistic" and even possibly "worldly". The reality of asking that question is to judge your activity as wrong. Then the person asking it feels more spiritual or superior to you. Not really understanding the spiritual immaturity they're displaying by asking someone that question in the first place. It has nothing to do with stumbling someone. It has to do with judging someone else and trying to control their behavior because the person judging doesn't like it.

PIMO here, in my 70’s. I agree, the message, “can you examine your life and adjust your recreation time?” is heard in the congregation over and over again. Or maybe be able to “quit your full time job and get a part time job” in order to auxiliary pioneer or even full time pioneer? This is drilled into your head at every opportunity, every meeting, every talk, etc . . . to the point that you begin to have feelings of worthlessness. You start feeling guilty that maybe you’re not doing as much or putting as much effort in Jehovah’s service as the “friends”. This message has such a powering effect that I have seen ailing, elderly sisters, running themselves ragged to the point of exhaustion trying to get in as much time in the day, in the ministry, in order to please Jehovah. In reality, they are pleasing and doing the wish of the WT because a loving God and his merciful son, Jesus Christ would not put such burdensome demands on the people. On the other hand, you are told not to compare yourself with others and they throw in the scripture about the poor, elderly widow, placing the two small coins of very little value in the temple’s treasury chest (Mark 12: 41-44). What hypocrisy. Fading out here.

someone who has been in a toxic relationship will relate how JW is another form of toxic relationship on another level. the script stays the same.

Good video. I was thinking too how I got so sick of hearing, This is not "the real life". Paradise earth is the real life. So we put our lives on hold in this system to wait for the new system. Basically we wasted our lives waiting for the new system that never came.

Yes I never felt I was good enough. My own brothers actions and comments towards me, (he’s an elder by the way) always left me feeling bad. I also began to suffer from serious anxiety and depression almost right after I became baptized. I don’t know if it was because of that or other life circumstances. I finally realized it couldn’t be the truth if my own brother who was so versed in the “Bible truths”could see me so badly. I needed to let go and keep my own personal relationship with God without the organization.

The music(especially today) and things we bring into our homes and selves can invite demons in. I left JWs 9 yrs ago, fell hard, and become trapped in satans matrix (system), im now finding my way back, since something happen to me before thanksgiving, cant explain it with words. JWs did get the holidays right but dont teach even half of how deeply they belong to satan. As for music it can invite worldy spirits in(especially the demonic stuff coming out these days), not all like the JWs warn but we must be aware of the spirit of the world. I will never step foot in any church, only Gods word the bible, while following Jesus the best i can being born again having disowned myself. We should only fear God! We have free will though if chose bad movies, music, etc the God will let us be influence by whatever door they may open. We have free will but its influenced by either God and satan and satan is at war for our souls. Glad someonebis speaking out against the lies but the truths of Gods word should not change, sadly in cults we see play give up totally and run to the world when the see the deception. Jehovah is still real, Jesus still gave his life for us and wants us to follow him and be no part of the world. What the taught from Gods word doesnt change except several things they twisted to fir around them, its their (mans) decentful made up doctrines that need ran from. The roman emperors that coverted to destroy Christ church(his followers not a place) that they could succeed in killing, that started the false church (catholic) around 325 ad start this mess of religions, the protestant movement followed 16 centuries later, amd from that sprang cults. Jesus said we have all we need in the word of God, let no man add or take away. Its still true that only 2 birthdays are in it, both the way of thebsinner not the saints, and Jesus never celebrated his birth nor did his apostles. EXJWs please dont loss faith but do research the fall of christ church through constantine. I am alone again, family members that are lukewarm and only follow what doesnt make them change left me just like when i was with the JWs, friends dont wantbto understand my change but one thing is for sure, something changed after 20200 and the these are the endtimes but its not to be scary as we have a hope like no other, i may live to see it or i may not but i will be ready, unblemished by this world that daily we see Jesus mocked in, satan exalted in and they try to make it just entertainment, a joke but its more than that satan is grasping at everything. Just believe, have faith, dis own(die to)self, pickbup our cross and be born again in Christ, baptized to wash the sin and form flesh away, and keep cleaving to and following Christ, staying no part of the world in which we merely live. Ive learned some much just being with God and not listening to man. God gave us everything we need in His word amd on earth, yet we rely on man for food /medicine(much of which makes us sick(food) and causes worse issue than why we took the med) satan controls everyting through man, is all store food or medicine bad, non but we have been conditioned to rely on it, what happens we its not there d/t war, civil unrest, whatever....anarchy, stravation, murder.... we been made gluttonous people they buy too much and throw to much away, greedy always needing more then leaving family to sort through a lifetime of junk when we are gone, weve grown so far from Gods design since the late 19th century, now the bad is advanceing at a rate like never in history, the birth pangs are greater than ever but they either dont tell us or have an excuse for it, and never before has a time had the tech for the mark or the tech to prep billions forbit so they wont question. Id watch more what th papacy is doing and its role n revelation. Glad there finally losing people, hopefully to God. Sorry for the speech, just dont wanna see any of Gods people fall like i did after leaving because we dont know the hour. Finally understand Gods word, commandments, and finally happy and not terrified of whats to come. Just prepared forbit, people mostly notice my change for the betterkhappier, alive, etc) but most mock after with those that already mock and persecute me. I just stay me and share that Jesus loves them too! Wow - super helpful, thanks!! Another one is don’t question. If you question anything you are considered weak or not trusting of the organization. You (and your kids) are then unofficially marked and off the social circuits. This mindset can be a problem in all areas of life. It’s important to get the full meaning or understand what’s fully going on. Understanding, learning, questioning are good qualities to protect ourselves and enrich our lives.

Definitely causes anxiety and other ailments..I’m no longer a JW, however I still work closely with one. I went to the KH with her mother & sister (let’s call her K) Her sister has never had a boyfriend or married or lived by herself, because she’s SCARED, of everything….She always lived with her mother until their mother passed away. Now she’s living with her sister.. …, the one who I currently work with. K is now in her late 50’s and still living with her sister…

In the Bible, we are told not to be afraid 365 times. It's like it's a message for each day of the year (I believe it is Jesus telling us that in the New Testament)

Well thought out! Love your point on boundaries. here are a couple more. Fear if you don't obey them even if it doesn't make sense to you. So many people do not trust their own judgment and have abdicated personal decisions to WT. Chris Voss says fear makes you lose 30% of your intelligence. Also, the thought that we have the truth puts us in a superior position, a mindset of elevated consciousness leading to a self-righteous attitude. Great video. A lot of good stuff. It's amazing all the ways JW culture can influence you even when you know it's not what you want. I liked the book Your Money or Your Life for looking at my relationship with money and what research says about it's usefulness and connection to your happiness. It's very different than the all or nothing concepts and the idea of endlessly delaying gratification for "paradise."

I have a trait I still need to get rid of. -Assuming and making assumptions. WT will always say things without actually saying it. What’s up my dude good video although I never made the dedication and got baptized I did study and make a public declaration and become a unbaptized publisher I grew up around my dad side of the family who are all witnesses I have an uncle who is an elder and my aunt is an auxiliary pioneer I definitely get the most pressure from her about a year ago I told my family that I did not want to dedicate my life to the organization of course they were upset and continuously Telling me how Jehovah is going to bring this system to her in very shortly I even went to Bethel a few years back I did meet some cool people The younger and new generation of the witnesses are definitely not as strict as my grandmother it’s a whole new generation But it really bugs me how some channels and some people say stuff about the witnesses that isn’t true most people believe that they think only a certain number go to heaven and the rest die or that everyone partake in the memorial I’ve gone to plenty of memorials and I’ve never seen one person partake of the emblems Thank you so much for your work I’m definitely going to check out some of your other videos keep it up

Well done , the fear domination is something that preoccupies me . I am not a present or ex jehovist but mental abuse of children is of concern here . In France we have a government body dealing specifically with this , in Australia, we have government child protection laws , but they do not do any visible work with victims of cults . Do you know of any organisations who deal with this problem ?

All things are governed by the Creator God everything is purpose to glorify God and on top of all of that the word of God that preceded God that was made flesh and dwelt amongst us all that was the son of God which was also God we know him by Jesus of Nazareth Jesus Ben Joseph yeshua hamashiach the Christ. We each walk the path and are all on different spots of the path so we group together with the fellows to fellowship on the path our brothers and sisters in the Creator's eye because the eyes and the ears are the gates to the soul and all will find their placement of their kind in a timely purposed fashion by God. So can we please stop with all this mental fornication of differentiating ideas that lead to ideologues that get carved into totems by thought and remove you away from God. This is where the followers of Jehovah tried to gain a fellowship and Gain followers in the eyes of God. It is time for us to come together and unite as one family in Christ all working to bring forth heaven on Earth which is having the foresight for the future generations yet to come to not have to deal with the issues of all of the mental fornication and errors that ended up leading up to this point everybody wants to act and claim that they're grown but still act like toddlers enough is enough seek Christ for forgiveness and salvation. We only live by the grace and the faith given to us by Christ and God the holy Spirit guides us in TRUTH. God is perfect we are not we are learning to be as our creator in the eyes of our creator Jesus the Christ GOD INCARNATE. AS WE WALK THIS PATH OF PEACE LOVE AND TRUTH IN FAITH WITH CHRIST UNTO THE GLORY OF GOD AMEN AND HALLELUJAH.

Great points to keep in mind, I would like to ad the fear of being alone with out any family or friends to turn to if necessary, consider the main teaching in the bible, put your trust in God and Jesus christ, and here's why everything belongs to them, Jesus christ said he came here for the sinners, the one's that claims that their not sinners makes God and Jesus liars, the said all have sins and fall short of God standards and Jesus christ came to earth for the whole world sins and he said if anyone wants to believe in him Jesus christ, they are forgiven by his blood which was poured out for the sinners not for people who are not sinners, there's no greater love than that, he said if you believe in me [Jesus christ] your sins are forgiven, and he said if you don't believe in me you will die in your own sins, and he said the least one's will be the greatest, we are all God's least ones, and he said to a theft you will be with me in paradise, there's no way to argue that statement, those who say it's because the guy repented, prove it, how do we know if that guy would have lived he wouldn't have stolen something, but we are to live our lives and when we are judged by God and Jesus christ, there's no better righteous judges than the most high God and Jesus christ his son, they judge with love because they are love, if your child asked for something to eat, would you hand it a stone or a serpent, no we would not, and we are wicked, so picture God and Jesus christ they are love, just keep in mind we have boundaries not under laws, but out of our love for them, God and Jesus christ,not out of fear, but out of love, we are such like one's,

We should spend most of our time with people who also believe in Christ and are like-minded! I liked your last video I watched but this one I'm not sure if you're calling the witnesses out or if you're teaching against God's word in the Bible because the Bible does tell us not to be unevenly yoked and it does tell us to be no part of the world, and it does tell us not to sit down with drunkards revellers shelters Etc. Now is that to say we should never speak to these people know because how else could they know come to know the love of Christ and what he gave up for us all.
