Another great turn... It's been a while since you've turned a pen, so I would suggest maybe a tutorial on the pen process for new turners who want to learn pen making. The kits you buy from amazon don't come with any directions or if they do they are rudimentary ones at best. It would be great to explain how to make and size the blanks, how to press and glue the inserts in, barrel cutting, and the use of the pen bushings and arbors. I know you have to have plenty of scraps leftovers so minimal in cost to do. Keep up the good work!

Doug, use all the cool wood cut offs in clear resin - do a short (2inch max) by about 8-10 inches for a catch all bowl (every day carry bowl). Let the wood be the star. Burl cut offs and maybe some bark pieces (if you can clean them - maybe preseal them) - thanks for sharing your work!

Another great turn Doug. How about you turn all the elements of a stall with wood and resin then glue together. You could use some of the swamp sticks for legs and the some random piece of scrap wood for the seat.

I've never turned elm. Have some in my blank building but it is way in the bottom. I like how it looks. Might have to go dig it out. I used total boat 2 to 1 slow in an avocado bowl last week. My first resin turn. I loved it, will be doing more. Please keep up the inspiration. We are in aloha land for a few weeks but will be back turning soon.

It turned out great. I like the large size of it too. Maybe you could make a lamp shade or light sconce? It would have to be mostly resin.. otherwise it might be a bit too shady.😂 I think a mix of a few colors together would look great with a light source behind it. Maybe copper, dark orange, red and a little blue. I always enjoy watching you turn. Thanks 😊

I love the purple and white! Maybe what you could do take a crack at making something with colored pencils, like a vase, or bowl, or something like that. I've seen Andy Phillips do some projects involving colored pencils, and those were pretty cool.

I love your round things haha I try to replicate your pedestal bowls I haven't gotten there yet lol. I like the purple and white against the beauty of the Elm. Maybe try making tall candle holders with lots of various beads running around it. I notice that most wood turners seem to shy away from making stuff with lots of beads, but I think they look cool. I notice a lot of Asian wood turners tend to make stuff with more beads.

I really like the swirly cloud-looking white in the purple. The elm wood is beautiful too. Let's see, how about making a Tiffany style lamp shade that looks like stained glass but is, of course, resin and wood? I'm not sure how to create a stained glass look. hmm. Maybe a chicken wire mesh? Well, you did ask. Lol! Oh, in peacock blues and greens too.

Wow! that's beautiful Doug!!!. Well as far as colors. Some pearl blue and dark blue, pearl white with holographic glitter. OR blue or gold interference mica. Wow In your face right? 😆 😆 you probably don't want to do something like that? Make a wood and stained glass window (colors above or whatever colors you want for the resin windows) to hang in a window with not direct sun of course.. there is that different event for you? Thank You Thank You Monica, I originally was going to make our solar system but the planets are to big for the sun and I wouldn't have enough room to make it look correct

Came out great. I like the colors of resin with the light color of the elm. Maybe you could do a vase with the colors of black,red,blue,white,and green. I am an electrician, those are the colors of the phase tape I use. Thank you for sharing your video.
