On another note, isn't this rather Scroogish? Sure says merry Christmas, lots of wrapped boxes... But tacitly promising joblessness or at least reduced hours for a bunch of already struggling package handlers? Please sir, 'tis the Christmas season and I need me... Cannot I but move the boxes meself?
Kinda of scroogish? A happy holidays video filled with wrapped presents but otherwise promising joblessness for a bunch of already struggling package handlers... But sir, tis Christmas and I need me hours, can't I just move the boxes?
@@defenderofwisdom Look, times change. Agricultural technology took the jobs of 99% of field workers. Technological progress is automating ever more complex things. Robots will replace package handlers in the near future, even better robots will replace accountants some time later and so on. That's just how it goes, with the technological progress new industries and new jobs that can not be automated yet always pop up for people to find work in.
I get the whole "say christmas" argument when you're talking about an individual addressing another individual. But this is literally a marketing video for a BILLION DOLLAR company with 500 employees being watched by hundreds of thousands of people in every corner of the globe. In that context saying "happy Christmas" literally just makes less sense than "happy holidays."
@@twelvecatsinatrenchcoat First of all the west is the most important place for BD. Other parts of the world surely are less than a third of its market, capital and so on. And we like it to be christmas. So how about BD appeals to its biggest base? Also some things just shouldnt be a money calculation you know?
If BD ever needs a real-life para to test using quadruped mobility systems for people with disabilities, I'm ready! Stairs- watch out, we're coming to kick ass and take names! Merry Xmas
At 72 my legs are getting weaker but I still know how to shovel sidewalk snow without dumping some on (or in front of) a neighbor's car. I went to "Home Depot" this morning, but could not find a robot that can help me shovel snow, simply by duplicating the trajectory of the "WIRELESS communication loaded SHOVEL" driven by me. Why just buy one "robot motion duplicator?" Sometimes it is best to have help from devices that do exactly what you do. How do you spell relief? One cat hate one mouse in 1 minute, and 3 cats ate 3 mice in 1 minute as well. Happy Holidays and New Year!
As a former truck loader/unloader for UPS (5 years), I can tell you that Stretch is not fast enough for average volume, let alone Christmas. Nobody's job is in danger any time soon.
