PUT IN BAY LAKE ERIES ISLAND GEM 

Having lived near here my entire life I will correct you on one thing here. Put in Bay is NOT the island. Put in Bay is actually the village. The island name itself is South Bass Island. There's also a Middle Bass and North Bass and all 3 are inhabited islands along with Rattlesnake Island and the closest inhabited to the mainland are these 4. Actually Mouse Island is the closest to Miller Ferry but to my knowledge is not inhabited but I'm sure people have been on it before.

I do enjoy going to Put-in-Bay, I went during the 4th of July and it had a spectacular firework show.

Went here over the summer. Huge disappointment. The harbor and Shoreline is swarming with snakes, literally. The downtown area is essentially like the TV show Jersey Shore. Tons of drunk 20 something year olds starting problems. Never again!

Fun fact, Put in Bay was Home to America's last offically sanctioned by the SCCA (and illegally sanctioned by the drivers and the island) Sports Car Road Races.

That is absolutely nothing for Lake Erie. Try getting caught out on a 23 foot fishing boat when a storm comes out of nowhere. Yeah, talk about leaving evidence in your pants as you go over 7-10 foot waves. 😂 yeah, haven’t been on the lake since, mostly cause I moved away but I’m not going back out there even when I do come home. Lol.

Perry's monument is taller than the Statue of Liberty. People say it isn't but they don't realize the Statue of Liberty is on a 75-foot pedestal, and Perry's monument is on ground-level. The story of how it was built is very interesting. Most people also don't know there are stairs inside, in casre the elevator breaks, but it's only for emergencies.

The beer barrel saloon is an awesome place.

Visitng here tomorrow . We Moved from Florida to Ohio and miss the beaches bad . This place looks like have Tampa bay vibes .

Are there air B&B or hotels by Put-in-bay if you want to do more than one day?

I used to live up there and when a hard wind blows in the same direction for several days you get this. Once we had an unusual South wind blow for days and when I went to the dock in the morning all the boats were hanging from their lines, lol.

The island isn't called Put-in-Bay. It's called South Bass Island. The town on the island is what's called Put-in-Bay.
