Thanks for the great video! I use this little reel on my blowgun frog gig, and it gets a lot of repeated very short (thirty foot) casts. Hard on any reel and the upgrade is already making a difference!
It really boils down to preferences on that. I've used it with no issues. And, it won't damage the pick up pin. You don't want braid though. Braid will eat through the pick up pin rather quickly. But I don't see any reason not to use fluorocarbon.
