I turned down a full 4-year scholarship to Howard University in 1997. I went to community college instead so I could still auxiliary pioneer, but was still regarded as 'bad association' for going. What my mother won't admit is that I worked 3 jobs to put myself through school (all on public transportation), made all my 'meetings' and field service, and paid half the rent on a four bedroom house all from the ages of 17-20. The guilt for just trying to do anything was immense. Great video ladies- thank you to you both 😁👍🏾

Excellent discussion ladies. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Putting on the new personality is the Watchtower’s version of being more “indoctrinated” by them and sacrificing your goals and dreams. 😢 It also subliminally shows all JWs how to judge anyone that does otherwise. 😩😩

It happens very slowly, almost imperceptibly, but very effective to effectively discourage critical thinking from each member by requiring the cult to attract a new personality to the successful spiritual path. The given conditions then make everyone a sheep and at the same time an ant in the sense of this cult.

I never felt like I COULD put on “the new personality” because I didn’t want to do almost any of the “good JW things” - field service, pioneering, hated all of it and I wanted to participate in every extra curricular activity. So as a preteen & teenager - I also thought something was wrong with me. Again, I so enjoyed this. Y’all are great!!!!

You guys are so down to earth and Loving ❤️ Yes, I heard and was shown that scripture which they used to control you and make sure you put on their organization's personality and take away the true you that God had already given us, we don't need them for such. Life is an experience, we grow up and discover who we really are and to accept ourselves for who we are without judgment. We're Good people and we know what is right and what is wrong, we're not babies anymore. I was not born in but studied with at the age of 15 and baptized by 16 but before that never really wanted to go door to door preaching. I was told by the elder who studied with me if I don't go preaching I might as well forget everything ! What kind of explanation is that? Where is the Love of God here? I was pushed into baptism before my time and faded out at 25, Thank goodness I did and these videos are blessings being sent out to show us how right is was to follow our instincts. When the 1975 end time fell through, I felt it was time to leave. The End was so near back then and they keep repeating the same year after year. So Happy I left, no regrets! Thank-you June.😊🤗🙏

A lot of “worldly” people had better personalities than I as a JW!! Many are taught to care more about other people instead of being told “they” were “special” because “they” had the “truth”!! That twists and messes with your personality more than ever!!

I was never an addict, gambler, prostitute or a drunk but somehow a good pioneer friend at an assembly came back from talking with a bunch of brothers and she was laughing. One of the elders in my Congo was telling a brother who was interested in me that I was no good 😳 She knew I wasn't interested in the brother so she thought I wouldn't care. I did care however that than an elder (who was on his 3rd wife 20 yrs younger than him) was unjustly bad mouthing me. That was the start of me losing interest in this cult.

I’m not an ex JW but an ex member of the “Hebrew Roots” “movement”. There are so many similarities between what I have left, IBLP, JW, and Mormonism. It’s been a few years now, but I wish others could see the control they’ve submitted to. Once you’ve been shunned, your life is a whirlwind of emotions. Hindsight is what I wish everyone could see. Keep up the good work!

I am proud. I left 8 years ago and I enjoyed my freedom ever since. I was born and raised 3rd generation. After our parents died then 6 of us left and moved on their ways.

June, thank you so much for starting your channel to help others know that the jw organization is misleading so many. My husband and I were certainly being misled for about 5 years. My husband left the organization first and I just left in the last week. What a mess. I started a RU-vid channel about my journey to find God and all I went through with the witnesses I would love to get to know you and be on your channel sometime to tell my story. It amazes me the amount of people who are affected by the cult just because they have family members in the cult. They put fear in those outside of the cult. I can barely even have a productive conversation with my JW family they are just disgusting to me at this point. I don’t have any remorse for them.

This comment may be a little long, I apologize for that. My wife lost her father at age 8, kicked out because she wanted to love Jehovah, being in a third world country where Jehovah's Witnesses were banned. She had her Bible Stories Book, and she remained faithful, even keeping herself clean from sex with men. I married her when she was 45 against the Elders demands. As a eye witness she was a Virgin, but the Elders spread rumors through out many Congregations that she birthed a child out of wedlock. So she was constantly under harrasment by the Elder's of Jehovah's Witnesses. When we told them we had married we were immediately disfellowshipped, as it was their excuse to remove her for what they wanted to believe about her, having a baby out of wedlock! The amazing thing is the main Elder, who disfellowshipped us, his Sister who is unmarried, got pregnant and delivered a son, and she was never punished! On zoom meetings they would be bouncing the Baby around as if it was a good thing, a bastard child without a father! No man around! And she lives in the same home as her Brother the main Elder! So in reality he is suppose to step down according to the Elders Manuel and the Organisation Book! Supposedly written by Jesus! "bas·​tard ˈba-stərd. plural bastards. usually offensive : a child born to parents who are not married to each other." Mirriam Webster Dictionary! For those uneducated by modern day Universities because they were told higher education is evil and from Satan, so by going to University would displease Jehovah. Not meant to offend anyone. I went to University at age 50. Baptised early 70's. But my vow was not to the Organisation like many today.

Come on Just June. Small Babies dont have to put on a new personality but cultivate the right personality. There are many Bibel examples. And yes a lot of "wordly" children and adults have better personalities than JW personalities.

Look at Prince! At the message his music portrays, his audience, but because he had money, the local Elders have nothing but good to say about him. And he died because of an overdose of prescription drugs, that others in the Congregation are disfellowshipped for if they become addicted to those drugs even if a doctor prescribes them. Funeral talk at the Kingdom Hall! So when you have something financially to offer the Organisation all serious sins are overlooked. Buy your way into the New Paradise! Same with a Scientology, and the very rich.

Another great video June! I don’t want to upset any of you but I find Serena Williams being baptized is a red flag. Her friendship with Beyoncé is very scary. Researching Beyoncé very disturbing things come up. Not someone that would be a friend of a Jehovah’s Witness. Does WT’s love money so much that they except people with money. Cheers for this video I’m not a Jehovah Witness but I enjoy watching videos of Ex JWs experiences, it’s very eye opening and interesting. Are JWs desperate for new recruits, I had some JWs ring my doorbell yesterday and a few days ago got a letter from a JW in the mail with a pamphlet- I ripped up the letter and pamphlet and tossed them in the recycling bin and didn’t answer the door.

I've just had an epiphany, AT THE PROTEST 30/10/2023 AT THE WHITEHOUSE WASINGTON DC UNITED STATES of AMERICA, one of the signs should have Stephen Lett's picture of his nephew that committed suicide because of being homosexual and what Lett said at the next convention!!!!!!! Sadly, I think that Serena being a mum now, retired from tennis, has returned to Watchtower, and is going to raise her child as one!? Yes, I should’ve noticed that God didn’t like the animals personality too. He saying I made All creation GOOD, but decided to separate sheep and goats. So sorry for the goats, somehow someday those creatures personality was labeled bad😅What a joke it actually is.

Just a side note, the JW organization emphasizes getting a trade, in place of going to college, so that you can use it in the "new system." What they fail to mention is, where will ALL of the plumbers/electricians/carpenters, etc. get the needed materials for their trade in the "new system" since everything in this system will be destroyed? Where will drywall/ductwork/generators/nails/screws/hammers/voltmeters/saws/glass/raw materials to make tools, etc., come from? What are the survivors going to do with all of the billions of cars/trucks/ships/trains/unexploded military ordnance/skyscrapers/the international space station/jumbo jets, etc, etc, etc? The survivors will have to deal with all of these issues + teach the billions that will be resurrected!
