Some thoughts on positivity and possibilities for everyone to help with your outlook on the day! I talk about an experience with an elder that actually helped me get into rehab and not get disfellowshipped. And the benefits of always showing kindness despite how JWs may be treating you and why it's a good idea. #exjw #positivevibes #sobrietyafterjwlife #sobriety

I was over thirty years in Jehovah's Witnesses and in all that time I never heard such beautiful honest hearted feelings as you have expressed. You are going to be a very positive influence in the exjw community Deanna Just June. Keep walking tall cause you are casting a gorgeous long shadow. More power to you girl.

What a beautiful and sincere compliment that I appreciate dearly! That made me smile so big! 😁 I just hope to help others find some peace and comfort in a world that I was told was so hateful and terrible. When I actually think about it, I've found more help and support and love within the rooms of AA, the yoga studio I go to and the community center I volunteer at than I ever did at the kingdom hall... Isn't that interesting 🤔 have a wonderful day and keep spreading your kindness!!! 🤗💗

Oh boy! I hope you are able to help your mom to see the WHOLE picture of the JW organization before she commits to anything. It has a lot of beautiful, well meaning people IN IT, but that doesn't mean it's RUN BY good, well meaning people! I wish you all the very best in your journey of life! And I'm so glad you enjoy the videos! 🤗🩷☺️

Show her JW facts. That will help her see the lies they are indoctrinating her with and the history of the organization through it’s own publications.

A wise man once said: " If you can't take a shower, wash your teeth. If you can't wash the dishes, wash one dish. If you can't clean a room, clean an angle. Something is better than nothing". This is my motto when depression hits hard. Be kind to yourself, Dianna ❤❤❤ Btw. I NEVER shunned anyone, and this is the only thing I'm proud of doing when I was a jw.

So glad to see you again! I was worried if, like many of us, you were in a low place. You look wonderful, but not just on the outside. You are revealing a beautiful soul of wisdom through experience, from the inside. I'm moved to tears as you share your honest authentic self with us. Looking forward to your future videos. As a side note, my nickname from some in my family is "Just Judie", as that is how I would introduce myself, so I have always been especially fond of your channel name.

Thank you so much, Just Judy! I love it! I think we have all gone through a lot in one way or another because of the JW organization and that's exactly why I have the channel! I did need a break for some much needed self care and I've learned that I need to have more balance in life in general! But I do plan on trying to put out shorter videos more often! Thank you for your support and encouragement!!! ☺️💗

I have been down the Rabbit Hole of watching high demand religions and I would assume that Jehovas are one of them? I just assumed people left the churches and were thinking thank god I am out of there, but now I realize it runs much deaper. Good for you, so proud of you. ❤ I have found if we neet people where their at and don't expect people, family, friends to give us something they are not capable of giving, I am way less dissapointed 🙂

Yes, there's a lot to the indoctricroction of the high control group religions! Thanks for taking the time to understand what happens when ppl leave these groups. That's such a kindness on your part! And thank you, I can say for the first time in my life, I'm proud of myself for having the courage to speak up and try to help others that are struggling from the damaging effects of the JW organization. And you're right about not expecting from others what they are not capable of giving, you sound quite wise! ☺️💗

Love in the jw org is conditional and thus transactional. I quit attending meetings over 2 yrs ago and simply told the elders that the org is not healthy or helpful as a recovering alcoholic. Nothing and no one is more important than my sobriety.

Just June has a beautiful alliteration in the title. I am glad you are keeping the title. I comment on the last video. What I forgot to write was you are looking better. Looks like you have lost some weight. If that is true, I am very envious. 😀

Just June sorta rolls off the tongue easily. 😂 And thank you, I appreciate that! I've worked very hard on getting healthier! I've lost a little over 50lbs since my older videos. Between quitting the alcohol, and I cut out all caffeine and soda (we call it pop in Pittsburgh not soda 😆), it was a great start. I started eating more fruit and veggies too. I don't actually follow a diet. I hate diets. Then I started doing yoga a few times a week and that really helped drop the weight off. I feel so much better! Thanks for noticing! 😉💗

I think I was in for about two years when I heard my first "marking talk." But I was not a born in, I studied to placate my mother-in-law and my biological family was not in, so I don't think I was ever a real JW, because they lied and withheld information day 1 on the shunning, child baptism, etc. But when I heard that "marking talk" it wasn't about me, I sat in my seat, and I bawled because I knew for sure, I had been "had." No one came up to even ask why I was crying.
@JustDeannaJune
@JustDeannaJune 6 месяцев назад
That's terrible, the JW organization teaches it's members to withhold info in the beginning of the study on purpose to make it all seem on the "up & up" but then you are trapped and don't know what to do... Glad you are out now! ☺️🩷

You and I have a different perspective. My first love's mother was a Christian Scientist, and she had some "cockamamie beliefs." When he was 17 he got strep and she didn't take him to the doctor and it went to his heart.. He was so sick, his clothes were hanging off him when he got out of the hospital, and she blamed me for his illness! She said it was all of the arguing. Well we argued because we were sexually pent up and too young! But it hurt me that he had untreated strep, and she was so eager to pass the buck. The toothpaste was out of the tube, and I knew I could never trust his mother again. Then I dated two "Jack Mormons." One got serious and asked me to marry him, but there was something "stodgy" about him, He had a Master's Degree in Engineering, so his education was right, but he never talked about old girlfriends, I felt like a place card. I said no, and he met someone else and now has 7 grown kids in Utah! Then the Ex JW, he knew I wasn't one, and yet his parents pressured me in. I mean we really got nasty letters, especially from his mother. They would drop off books where my husband worked, and when I found them, he said "Oh, those don't belong to me, they belong to a co-worker. He hated it as a child, and not one did he take my by the arm and say, "No, let me tell you about this group, or tell his parents what bus stop to get off at. So this is what I concluded, and I will tell any therapist, because I do believe this. I think part of my own spiritual contract, before I was born, was that I was supposed to learn about cults and the dark sides of human nature, especially narcissism. There is no way, I would have picked any of these religions, for myself, but there they were! I was forced to confront them! There is no way I would have ever learned about cults, unless I had been directly confronted by persons in them that tried to change me to fit there mold. What a journey! And when I confront a cart, I tell them first. "Watchtower is nothing but a business, a real estate investment scam, faking it as a religion. You donate, purchase, finance land, supply building materials, free cleaning, re-modeling and landscape maintenance. You build it, are free slave labor, then you sign it over to Watchtower, and down the road they will sell it, never give the money back and expect you to start over. Now its up to them to figure out how the Bible is used, with the same scriptures that other churches you, to fool you into this game. It is up to them to ask questions and figure out, how they got sucked in. The carrot is Utopia.

Wow, that's one hell of a ride in life you've been on thus far! And you are here to tell your story! If it suits you to tell others about the organization being what it is, which I agree with you on how horrible it is, go for it! Be yourself! I've never personally had good results come from pointing out the flaws about something that someone else holds dear. They usually just get even more determined to cling to it harder. Isn't that the beauty of the world we live in though? I can do things my way and you can do things yours and we can still understand and respect one another, unlike what the JW organization teaches. Thank you for taking the time to comment! Love hearing from everyone!!! Hope you have a wonderful evening!!! ☺️🌙✨💙

Hi June, it's very nice to see you back on YT❤.... I'm wondering if these days, do the JWs tolerate a "sheep" if they are struggling with addiction but getting help from rehabilitation places or counselling etc Or do they basically DF one if they can't get themselves together in a certain time period??? When I was studying, I smelled very strong alcohol on the elder who was about 65. I was too nervous to tell his wife and soon after that day, he died of a heart attack at home in front of his wife. Understanding things better now I realise he had signs of alcoholism. I left JWs in the 90s when I was in my 30s but sisters and nieces still in😏🙄

Hey there! Glad you got away from the organization! To the best of my knowledge and from personal experience... They try and give you a chance nowadays to get yourself pulled together before just disfellowshipping you, but if you get some really old school elders involved that may not be the case. In my circumstances, my first time around with attempting to get sober, I went to a more laid-back kingdom hall and a lot of drinking went on there in general and got overlooked. But when I went to them for help, that's when they got stupid with me. When I brought up rehab at first, other than the doctor I spoke about in the video, the rest of them acted like I was walking into one of Christendom's churches for a month or something.... But the doctor reassured the other elders it was necessary. But the bigger problem was when I got out of rehab! That being... AA meetings specifically! The elders gave me soooo much trouble about going to them it was ridiculous! Because I was "hanging out with the world" and they recite the Lord's prayer at the end of every meeting. ( Which is not required, it's if you want to, they literally say "please join us in the Lord's prayer IF you would like" . Rehab was absolutely needed, but if you want to STAY clean and sober you need to do the maintenance, which is going to a recovery meeting type situation... And AA (alcoholics anonymous) and NA (narcotics anonymous) are the most well known and widely available in all of America. I was recommended by the elders after rehab to study more, pray more and go in service more. 😳🙄 Ummm, I was doing all that and drinking a fifth of vodka a day... That doesn't keep you sober! And I tried explaining to them that they are not educated on recovery methods that actually work. Though some people do 'white knuckle' it, that's not recommended for long term, healthy recovery. On top of everything is the fact that shunning someone who is in desperate need of help with addiction is the worst possible thing you could do! People in addiction need to know that they are not bad or terrible, that their addiction is the problem, not them as a person. And disfellowshipping directly gives the opposite impression ( and that this is coming from God) how damning to a person who is already at their lowest of lows! So, they usually don't disfellowship immediately, but if you don't get your act together quickly, that's where it will end. And turning to 'worldly' institutions and facilities is severely looked down upon. And about that elder with the alcohol smell on him that you suspected of being an alcoholic... When fellow elders struggle with alcoholism... They are in the 'boys club' and it usually gets looked over and ignored. I know personally of 3 situations of that happening. Hope that helps! Sorry I was so long winded! 🤪😆🤗 Hope your other family finds there way out of the organization one day too! 🩷

@@JustDeannaJune thanks June.... The elder I spoke of was the presiding elder at that time and at the time of his death. His wife was beautiful and she "studied" with my 2 little girls in the adjoining room while he "studied" with me. Yes I'm sure the boy's club and wife etc knew of his addiction, although I must say that the cong I was in was made up of lovely caring people, unlike the cong in a different city I grew up in.
