Puzzles vs Keebz. first round. DJ Skeme Richards. Red Bull BC One - USA 2011. Chicago. 7/23/2011 Judges: Ronnie - Lego - Wicked - Roxrite - Moy MC Breaker Ray STRIFE.TV
Dear Strife, I know you know that Canada is not a state in the USA but that overlay for Puzzles intro is kinda confusing because I think there is a Toronto, California. Therefore, next time maybe just use the Province/State of origin. Thanks.
It's funny, how Puzzles says that it annoys him that people keep arguing online over who wins a battle, and here people are complaining about his loss. Personally, I was rooting for Puzzles, and felt like it was a close battle, but he lost. What's done is done. Puzzles probably wouldn't want anyone to argue for him, so why do it.
@AstrayChronicle 5-0 can still be a close battle, since this isn't a tennis match. Keebz is subtle, but his flow is phenomenal and he has plenty of difficulty without using many tricks. His musicality us amazing, and I thought he didn't hold back at all. Puzzles was really hot too, but the judges mainly preferred Keebz. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
I'm a big Puzzles fan, not a fan at all of Keebz... but I mean, for everyone saying that Puzzles was robbed: he didn't do much in his 2nd set outside of bouncing on his knee. You also have to admit that that knee thread to chair by Keebz was fucking killer. Smooth as hell. Puzzles would've won if he came harder in the 2nd round.
@JKusanagi Bro go through the comments. It's pretty obvious this isn't about viewer bias. Even some kid who doesn't know who either Bboy is can point out that Puzzles was better. At the judges angle things might have looked slightly different but at the very least it should not have been a 4-1 loss for Puzzles. Seeing as Puzzles played on far more elements than Keebz while staying far more unique, I don't see how he lost. At the very least it shouldn't have been so clearly a loss.
@AstrayChronicle oh okay lol i actually didn't notice the vote was that much towards Keebz, but what i meant was that he didn't get robbed because it was really close. And of course a kid who doesn't know about bboying would have voted for Puzzles cause his moves were flashier, anyways I see you've been arguing with others about this haha but i'm not here to argue just wanted to express my thoughts on this. If you disagree that's fine with me
@galahad524 No I understand you. Each judge in their minds could have given it to Keebz barely which is not reflected by the panels. As a Canadian and someone who's met Puzzles, I understand his style and know his moves fairly well. This was actually one of the better international battles Puzzle's been in. I've also watched Keebz battle plenty of times as well. So to see a good performance by Puzzles lose to Keebz who was a bit off is sad especially when it didn't seem like a loss to me.
Great battle. My opinion i that the judges made the right decision. Both were very clean and had great moves and movement, but Keebz had more Energy and aggression in his movements. Either way, they're both incredible bboys and the judges are more than qualified. People need to stop arguing
@muelemn12 MIracles battles with Supernaturalz A LOT. they battled together up here in Michigan a few months ago. don't be surprised cuz a lot of the Supernaturalz styles are a little bit influenced off of one another's.
@galahad524 Right and that crossover and Indian step was what won Keebz the battle? Please, just because he dragged out his toprock for a few seconds more doesn't mean anything. Yeah let's go ignore the fact that Puzzle's had some sick threads, or the beat hit with his signature crane, his longer sets, more dynamics and better battle attitude. After ignoring all of that I see Keebz won. Puzzles footwork was fresh, you could name all of the steps Keebz used so don't talk about wash bro.
I knew that Ronnie is gonna give it to Puzzles. Still dope ass battle, love both of them. I personally liked Puzzles better , but what you gonna do I'm not judging so.. oh well..
Puzzles wasn't robbed; Keebz was super on point. His toprock was clean, and his transitions were almost totally impeccable throughout the entire battle. Puzzlez was dope but, his toprock seemed was lacking the finesse it usually has. Asa whole it felt like Puzzles was lacking something subtle. He was more dynamic but that was about it. Keebz was just precise as hell. Puzzles was dope but he seemed a bit off.
How can some of you say that Puzzles got robbed? i think it was a good battle and either one of them could've taken it, whatever the judges saw we probably didn't see with our biased eyes.
@JKusanagi LMAO. According to your profile you've been breaking for 7 months. I've been breaking for 3 years. Its not even about flashier moves. Keebz chose to break simple and for some reason he won. He did almost nothing out of the ordinary and even held back his nasty footwork. Puzzles on the other hand went full out and ended stronger. I didn't argue with anyone. I wanted to know why Keebz won and no one provided a clear answer. 4-1 Does not signify a close battle. You expressed what?
@galahad524 Quantifying intangibles is hard? You hear yourself bro? If Battle Attitude is so hard to be judged why is it in R16 OUR system? Why do Bboys talk about it? Why do some Bboys just seem so much more into a battle? I'm not sure about you but I can notice that Keebz finishes with the same emotionless pose, toprocks without looking at his opponent and keeps distance from his opponent. I'm a fan of both Bboys but I honestly don't think Keebz should have won or so clearly won.
its the funkin dope song skeme plays at every jam he goes but nobody knows the name, just skeme himslef... i guess hahah. everybody searching the name dont give up, one day you'll know WORD! hahaha
@TheDizzam so youre judging how well a persons judging is base on the champsionships they win? that doesnt have any relation to each other at all. youre entitled to an opinion yeh, but talking smack about judges who would smoke you in a battle anyday? nah dont think so buddy
