All aboard the feels train I do not own RWBY, RWBY is owned by Rooster Teeth and was created by Monty Oum. I am posting this as a fan, for fans, with no intentions of profit.
Martin Abrahamsson pyrrha: I'll always be there for you. me: says the girl who shoved him to a locker and sending him to possible danger. you know Vale where it's invaded by grimm. way to go pyrrha 👍👍👍👍
Well... If he'd stayed there, she knew he would try to stop her from fighting Cinder, but yeah, i'll admit, sending him to Vale at that point probably wasn't a good idea... Point well made.
Well, i suppose you could argue that it was arrogant of her to think that only she could do it, but i see it as she felt like she had to do it, that it was her responsibility
@@bigsmoke1156 I think it’s a combination of the two. He’s angry at everything. Cinder, his loss, his inadequacy in the face of strong opponents. It would surprise me if he felt that if he actually trained and took being a huntsman seriously prior to beacon, he may have gotten strong enough to change things a bit
I still like to believe that even in volume 9, he still listens to the training videos just to hear Pyrrha’s voice, I know a lot of us want her to come back but it just doesn’t seem likely 😢
Who would want that and completely trash the only consistently good thing the show did since s3? Do you really want to waste a character's death bc you liked her?
So do I. Season 5 will hopefully do something with him. It doesnt have to be that he will be on par in any of all of the "stats" if you want to call it that, but maybe make Jaune an allrounder. I feel like him lacking a speciality could make for an interesting amount of character growth. (Also the show owes him an actual goodbye with pyrrha.)
@@akekesiyeti4525 2:12 Pyrrha is about to tell Jaune how she feels like she loves him, but she’s couldn’t even confess until her dream boyfriend got finally find out that she was in love with him and his loyal girlfriend who died in Beacon of the final battle for saving his life for getting himself killed by Ms Fall.
I just realized that the continuation to "Jaune, I, I..." was supposed to be *I love you*, but she changed her mind :'( *All aboard the feels train. Even George RR Martin can't hurt us this much*
The underdogs in series like Ruby usually end up being the Best fighter and one of the best developed characters in the end I can probably see Jaune going toe to toe with characters on the level of Cinder and a great tag team partner with Ruby in later seasons if the writers Get their heads out their asses and Actually do stuff with Ruby and if they continue the awesome build up for Jaune.
mikey kean well let's be real here. All 7 or so volumes are already premade by Monty. Gotta remember that all that's happening right now are in Monty's writing.
PnoyBlargh either way They done goofed alot and that was one fucked up move Side lining ruby for 2 whole volumes for no real reason other than Rooster teeth being hipsters.
You can't over estimate him either since he's weak. He's very inexperienced when it comes to CQC and there doesn't seem to be anything that special about him either. He doesn't know his semblence and cant do much in a fight. He even can't strategize or give support to the team. So what else is he good for other than trying to distract the enemies as his team members go in for the attack. The problem that I have with Jaune is that he's too weak and has a pretty shitty motive for why he wants to be a huntsman. Didn't train at a young age so that isn't a good sign that he's serious about being a warrior. He started all late. If he wants to catch up to his team members when it comes to him helping his team. He needs to start training harder and not just by himself watching videos of Pyrrha giving him routines on how to swing a sword. That isn't going to make him better in a fight. He needs to spar with someone to give him personal lessons and some tips on how to fight. Plus since he's never trained as a child, he needs to get on that shit if he wants to be a huntsman bcuz when I see the others. They are like beyond his league. I know he's suppose to be like sokka I. This show but I think RT is over doing it by making him too weak. He should at least be average. He is below average when it comes to fighting or trying to do a useful thing for his team. They need to step up his game by giving him like a power boost or something. If they don't. I feel like someone is going to die bcuz of his weakness. Weak characters tend to be a liability and end up either dying or having someone die for them like Pyrrha. If Jaune was strong he could have fought alongside with her but Pyrrha knew he was to weak so she had to get him to safety. She knew that he would only get in the way and would be a distraction if she has to keep an eye on him in case he gets hurt or worse.
Cyborg -Ninja6922 thats not true at all Just because he hasn't Trained sinve diapers doesn't mean that he won't become a goks fighter For all we know Jaune could veey well overshadowed and surpass all the other characters one day The advantage Jaune has over everyone else is that he Has far more potential than everybody else For all we know Jaunes semblance could be the most powerful semblance ever Also he is not a Weak character in the slightest He's currently a weak figter yes but He is probably one of the strongest characters If anything Ruby and Yang are the too weakest characters when it comes to personality. And Jaune Is probably one of the strongest in that regard If Anything Jaunes story should take him down a sort off "Batman" Route so to speak Have him leave the show for a few seasons so he can go off and train with a mentor or something.
I get that Cinder wants revenge on Ruby but I'm going to feel very cheated if Jaune doesn't at least get 1 fight with Cinder. He doesn't have to win, I just want him to have the chance to show off his improvement.
But if he loses, that would be more torture and obsession for Jaune. Too much pain might twist him towards a darker path. Then again... if we've learned anything about the show, it's that it practically swims in downward spirals now.
The moment where you realize that Jaune is us and Pyrrha is Monty. And, that all this time, this show has been Monty's way of telling us he has always loved us fans.
The saddest part here is the pain you can see on Ruby's face at what her best and first friend is putting himself through to get stronger so he doesnt lose another person
I think one of the saddest parts of this scene is that only now that she's gone does Jaune probably know what was going through her mind at the end of the training video. Watching that with the understanding that she was struggling with her feelings and that she really wanted to tell him how she felt, and that he never picked up on in until it was too late, must hurt.
Crown Plays my guess is that it's actually vice-versa; Cinder kills Jaune. The reason is, is that Joan de Arc (the person that is rumored to be who Jaune is based off of) was *burned* at the stake. I have a feeling Jaune is going to get roasted... literally...
I hate how the fanbase still continues to give Jaune shit for being the purposeful "Idiot" character he was portrayed as in season one. He's the underdog, and he's training so hard to become a better fighter and person not only for his teammates, but for Pyrrha as well. He's developing into a fine, strong character while staying true to himself and his desire to become strong, yet the whole fanbase still throws shit on him treating him like an idiot and a weakling, and denies him any other ship except Jaune x Pyrrha. To all you fellow RWBY Fans who hate on Jaune and give his character a hard time, even if you're joking, just know how close-minded you are towards the fact of how complex and amazing a character Jaune Arc is. Pull your head out of you ass and stop praising Weiss as a goddess cause she's a sass queen with daddy issues or something. Pay attention to the actual characters here. Every single one of them has a deep story to tell.
iamnotglenn In the very beginning, Pyrrha did mention Juane had a lot of Aura, and a strong one too. That might be part of it. Also, there was the interest that Tyrian showed in Juane. And it could also have just been Ozpin decided to let someone take a shot in a moment of humor. Or even a clerical oversight by the admissions office.
Simon Blitzvonic I agree. Jaune is like one of those shonen anime protagonists who are weak as shit at first, but slowly grow very strong as the series progresses. Now what i mentioned above is certainly a very cliched anime trope. But honestly, that is what makes me like him as a character. Thats why I feel that Jaune would make a great protagonist , if they made a spin off series featuring him.
Masticatious Honestly, I would prefer Jaune to have the spotlight of the anime, but thats just me. Team RWBY are certainly great protagonists dont get me wrong, its just that like Simon said above, Jaune gives a certain 'protagonist ' feel which the rest of RWBY dont do so as much ( at least to me ). Another reason is that his character is very malleable. His past is almost completely unknown, his semblance is still not properly discovered, and he fits the bill of a typical shonen anime protagonist.
Jaune literally has to be the best of us all in this series, despite losing phyrria he listens to her training video nightly. He becomes a great leader, a great fighter. Never giving up and never breaking apart, s8 pushed everyone but jaune was strong throughout it
Masticatious It's clear Ruby has her own issues, since in that episode she wokes up from a nightmare only to act like nothing was out of ordinary in the next scene. To me it's clear she's hiding her own trauma, and while she wants to help Jaune (she only wants to help people around her, saving the world is just a way for her to do it), she can't bring herself to do it because that would require to adress her own problems as well. That's why she tries her best to cheer him up during the journey, and part of why his speech in kuroyuri is such a relief: it frees her from the guilt of dragging him, Ren and Nora into danger (involving people into her mess isn't something Ruby like to do when she doesn't has to, as she says in volume 2), but also because she realises she did help him, even if only by giving them a purpose and direction.
I agree but not in the way I first took the comment; I think Cinder created her own downfall. He suffers for the loss of Pyrrha, but there aren't too many things in the world that will motivate someone to grow, and grow stronger, like the loss of a loved one at the hands of another. I'm calling it: Cinder's head is Jaune's for the taking whenever she finally dies
Watching this makes me choke up a bit. I really feel bad for Jaune. I didn't know that Phyrra died till I accidentally read it in a comment. I REALLY hope they find a way to bring back Phyrra, she was my favorite character!
If she doesnt come back, then I hope that it's Jaune who kills Cinder that killed her, at least giving us closure, that justice is done so we can finally relax, but if she does come back, which is very unlikely, then hope to see her and Jaune together again.
You can see the pain on Jaune's face as he does this. He holds what happened at Beacon personally, it weighs on his mind and is torturing him every day. He feels he could have done more that day, anyone who has lost a friend (or a few) to death knows this feeling. But he lost someone he loved as more than a friend, and that is something I cannot imagine.
WhiteTowerGuard cutting a roof many meters away it still can bedone with strength alone but yes, Qrow vs winter it not for sure..............but that Qrow! we talking about Jaune here.
Yes she just couldn't Work up the courage to say it she was too shy also she knew that Jaune didn't like her the same way so she resorted to the second best thing she could say. which is so tradgic and sad knowing that Jaune will never hear her say those words.
By the way Jaune acted in volume 3 and pulled her in during their kiss he certainly liked Pyrrha. But did he love her? That I don't know, we may never know, hell Jaune probably won't know either. He wasn't given the chance to find out and explore his feelings or any possible relationship with Pyrrha. We'll always be left to wonder alongside him unless the creators tell us.
Is it me or did Jaune get more handsome? Ugh ... It's sad he had to grow up knowing and losing love while it was yet to fully bloom. ... wait ... OH NONONONO! That is NOT a pun to use to fuel Jaune and Ruby! Nononono NO!
Too late. If it makes you feel better, there is a theory that part of Pyrrha's soul is with Ruby (hence why she was hearing things). This way, both Pyrrha and Ruby would get what they wanted.
It's also the quality animation. In S1-S3 most the male characters had the same model-face build, but with the new animation you can see his distinct features, making him cuter. Also I ship arkos, but Lancaster is my backup ship ❤️💛
you know this gets sadder with vol 9 as jaune's scroll would have run out of power by this point meaning he can no longer listen to Pyrrha's voice for comfort
I agree chris. I'm getting pretty tired of Jaune being a fuck up all the time when his team members die bcuz of him. If he can't stand his own ground then he need s to step down and go home. That fucker needs a mentor like you say. I just hope it's like a badass swordsman who fought during the Faunus war or like some kind of ex assassin that teaches him how to fight CQC armed and unarmed. Maybe that person could give him a few pointers on how to be a perfect ass kicking machine.
Cyborg -Ninja6922 Hell yea!!! Glad to see that you agree with me cyborg ninja. RT needs to make Jaune better. I don't want to keep watching him weak all the time. He needs to at least find a mentor to teach him the fundamentals on being a huntsman. A true warrior.
I'll never understand why people hate Jaune. Since his introduction he was always suppose to be the main side character. Like if anything happened to team RWBY, you could always count on team JNPR to aid them. It might be easier to compare Jaune's roll and relationship with Ruby to be like Luffy and Usopp from One Piece. Two great friends who will always have each other's backs. Though the story follows Luffy and his adventure to become pirate king, such as Ruby training to be a huntress. The side story of Usopp wanting to become a brave warrior of the sea is similar to Jaune wanting to become a hunter at any cost, despite his initial lack of abilities. But throughout the series Jaune, like Usopp, never defeats a main antagonist but rather does his best to help Ruby and everyone do the job. Taking out potential threats to others while they are having their own battle. We see Jaune's character develop and even though he loses Pyhrra, he still tries to find the strength to continue her wish. He knows he's the weakest but still trains so that he can stand beside everyone without being a hindrance. Even though he is still sorting out some of his emotions even now, it doesn't change the fact that Jaune only wants to protect whom he loves dear. He wouldn't let Ruby go on her journey alone, even while both of them were still upset about the fall of Beacon. While Blake, Weiss, and Yang, were unable to be by their leader's side, team JNPR, was there to help Ruby. I can understand why some people would dislike Jaune, being a surrogate character with shonen anime protagonist cliches. But sometimes, characters who were meant to serve little purpose can end up becoming a very compelling. And what if he has anime protagonist cliche's, it's not a matter if the cliches are present, but rather how they are written. Midoriya from My Hero Academia is a basic shonen anime protagonist that has various anime protagonist cliche aspect, but he is currently one of the most compelling characters in current day manga and anime. He gets his power from the strongest hero, he goes to a "magical" high school to learn how to fight villains, he was even a crybaby weakling when he first started out. If a character were to never change in any way, never to be explored or developed, and automatically started off at their peak, people would only lose interest in them. To watch a character develop and change throughout a series is the best thing, we as views can witness. Whether for better or for worse, we get to understand their transformation, and understand their character. Jaune may have his faults, but what character doesn't, some may have more than others, but nobody is perfect. Jaune might be the weakest characters in the series, but he's not aiming to be the best, he's just wants to do his best. And if people can hate someone like that, then shame on them.
"I know this can be frustrating, and it can feel like so much effort, to progress such a small amount, but, I want you to know, I'm proud of you." Sometimes words like these are everything a person needs to hear the most.
I don't know why but I really, really feel that Jaune might become a berserker that becomes unstoppable due to sheer endurance since he already has the reserves as stated in initiation and this scene shows that he's getting strong enough to make shockwaves on top of him having a reason to lose his mind (pyrrha's death) so when cinder shows up he just loses it
Wait, what was that part at the beginning where Pyrrha was calling out to Jaune? Was Ruby just dreaming that, or does it have some sort of deeper meaning? Maybe Pyrrha is trying to contact Jaune someway!
Abdiel Santiago that's not how PTSD works at all. ruby can't hear pyrrha saying "do you believe in destiny" unless she heard it before. which she didn't
pdz the vloger no. pyrrha and cinder were kinda having a conversation. ruby was too far away from pyrrha. unless pyrrha screamed "do you believe in destiny" which she didn't.
Ya know, I'm starting to understand Jaune character a bit. As the guy who yearns to be a hero he has the heart but was a coward until he picks up for the bully knowing he might die, he didn't hesitate. Seeing the hero's journey from the point of Jaune makes it painful. He's suffering from losing Pyrrah haunts him so deeply he can't move past it. But he tries to hide it so much its heartbreaking. Seeing the tears this man sheds for all the right reasons, he deserves to be most human character in the show. He doesn't just move on, he holds on to the memory of her. Also if I've learned anything from comics it's that heroes are born from tragedy.
What I love most about this scene is how Jaune's situation mirrors the Director's from the Red vs Blue Season 10 finale, but unlike the Director, Jaune lets his loss strengthen him to move on.
This scene fucking kills me. I lost my girlfriend 2 years ago to cystic fibrosis. And I still have a letter she wrote to me when we first met. I can't read it without breaking into tears. But I understand what he's doing. If I had kept any of the videos I had of her talking or singing to me I would have kept them and played them nonstop.
I dont get why people hate on Jaune He starts out weak and grows over time to become as strong as the rest of the RWBY/NPR cast He undergoes the most character development of all the characters. To a large extent I don't really see much character growth in Ruby (still acts like a kid and shows little initiative), Blake (lets not even open this can of tuna), Yang (getting better but still a hot head who rushes in), Weiss (literally see nothing) It doesn't help that for the most part Yang, Blake Weiss all abandoned Ruby and didn't really suffer the same way JNPR did from the fall (yang probably most hurt by losing an arm), and even then they all ran to deal with their problems while Jaune had to pick up the shattered pieces of his team and stay strong for Renora along with Ruby on this journey of theirs, while dealing with his guilt. Jaune's not the strongest and he's relegated to comic relief often, but I still like his character more than I do with the others especially how things went down in Vol 7.
what broke me down is that i just saw this as a way Jaune was tormenting himself, just reminding himself of his weakness and the fact that this is him psychologically torturing himself with a sense of futility and that he could have been stronger, could have done something if he was more determined and could have saved Pyrrha if he trained more just doesn't sit well with me on so many levels. well if anyone has another take on this tell me
I feel like Jaune is like Ron Stoppable because he is the comic relief and is always underestimated even though he contributes a lot, and people will finally see it when he is the one to defeat the final villain
I hated that they killed her off. Her and Yang are the best. And this scene didn't help with her not being there anymore. And the music, oh. I had to find it. It's so powerful to me and perfect for this part. It's now my ringtone. Love this show. Can't wait for the new episodes. Monty would be proud of his team at Rooster Teeth. Keep moving forward.
This is why I love RWBY, the show works perfectly in every way because it isn't only about the protagonist, it develops every character without failing into anime/cartoon stereotypes and gives them so much human emotion so you feel a real connection with them, even the villans. Jaune has to be my favorite character (outside of Qrow and Ruby) mostly because he is the personification of never give up and keep growing so you can reach your goals, and that's why I am grateful with Rooster Teeh and Monty for creating this inspirational master piece
Gonna be honest, this scene has stuck with me for a very long time. Every time i kept doubting RWBY and considered dropping it; my mind always drifted to this scene and I always remember that *This anime can be really deep and amazing*
I see them more as platonic best friends. They're closest of friends, but not necessarily romantic. They don't have to be. Which, honestly, is fine with me. They really do seem more like bros, as far as I've seen their interactions.
When Pyrrha died I was like: "NOOO" but I took that 'cause I already have seen many, many sad moments from series and movies... and when Jaune was training in the forest with her video instructions... I was about to tear up but it still didn't come... but... then...at the end when the video repeat and Jaune looked into the sky all sad knowing it could't be undine... it was then when it bursted out of me and i cried.. ... there you go... have my feelings stupid Rooster Teeth Team... Never stop!
What makes this so heartwrenching is that Jaune is a Sword and Board guy. he didn't have any arms free to record this. Pyrrha must have recorded it herself knowing full well he would outlive her.
he really deserves to have a shot against cinder...or at least him and his team fight against her that would have been great to see them work as a team against her and with Jaune landing the killing blow
after thinking about it for a bit.... love Pyrrha... But I think for the sake of the show as a whole.... I think she should stay dead. For any fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Carlson's death in the Avengers film was probably the biggest moment in the movie, feels wise at least. But after watching Agents of Shield, try watching it again.... It just doesn't feel the same, bringing back Phile just took so much out of the first movie. Going forward, remember the end of Vol 4? How when Qrow was poisoned and Ren was losing his mind fighting the Nuckelavee? Sure you knew they weren't going to kill off someone so soon after Pyrrha's death, but in the back of your mind you couldn't help but think; "But what if they did....." Pyrrha's death has raised the stakes! And it has done so much for Jaunes character. For the overall sake of the story, I think Pyrrha's death should not be touched... I don't like it, but I think that's just how it is.
What if (like Ozpin) Pyrrah's aura and spirit linked with Ruby, and the dreams are Pyrrah trying to get into contact with her? That'd be heartwarming as well as massively messed up if that's where they go with it.
Pyrrha has always meant to die. It was in Monty's original script. As for the come back part...there is a theory that Ozpin did manage to transfer a small bit of Amber's power to Pyrrha and then Pyrrha died, that power, along with part of her soul flow into Cinder. Hence why Cinder is acting strange in Volume 4.
Jaune: *Uses swings to fight most of the time and has been shown to swing really heckin fast and hard* Cinder: *Is on her knees because of Ruby's bs eyes.* Jaune: *Thusts and misses.* me: EXCUSE ME.
I feel like one of the most painful parts about this scene is how little he outwardly reacts to the video. You can see that he's in pain, but he barely shows it. He's a broken man, and it makes me frustrated that they never really bring this up again. I still haven't seen Volume 7 yet, but there wasn't even the slightest hint that he was still training at night prior to it. As frustrating as it is to not see anyone trying to heal him, the in-universe explanation of them not realizing it breaks my heart. It means that he's gotten good enough at hiding it that none of the others even think that anything's wrong. Nora and Ren heard him during the showdown in Volume 5, but that's the most we've gotten out of RWBYNR since Ruby found him in this episode.
It’s these moments that keeps us loyal fans watching the original. It has so many flaws and the story around Rwby and Monty, followed by how RT has frustratingly handled things is itself a great tragedy. But if art is meant to inspire, to have any beauty amidst no small amount of ugliness, then Rwby truly deserves to be the magnum opus and legacy of a great man. Icequeendom is amazing thus far; Monty did well up to here. There’s hope after all, and perhaps victory is in simpler things that require a smaller soul. I will never stop loving the original series, as much as I also hate it at times.
To me this scene was even more of a tearjerker than Pyrrha's death itself. I was really hoping to see Jaune coping with it, and although I expected more, it was still enough to summon the onion-cutting ninjas.
1:41 I know, Jaune, I miss her too. What happened to her wasn't what she deserved. I hope Cinder will get what's coming to her, I used to want her dead but now I just want her brought to justice
DAMN THESE ONIONS OAO I lost it when I saw it was a PHONE. A PHONE!! That's the most heartbreaking way to relive a memory. You can do more than just see their picture. You can hear their voice. I haven't even reached the part where Phyraa dies yet I'm crying my eyes out.
