Lost both parents in a 2 year span at 29 yrs old. Im 37 now.. its still.. i have no one to turn to..no one to give me advice.. no one to teach me from they're own mistakes.. its been almost 10 years now.. nothing left to me, anything ive ever gotten ive worked for. Its sad.. but.. it made a man out of me.

I'm 20, lost my dad 3 years ago. Now my mom is at the hospital recovering from a stroke but I'm scared she may pass away too, soon....

My dad had a heart attack when I was nine and passed away. Two years later. My mother committed suicide. I never quite recovered from it. The key is getting counseling and having the child talk. Even though it is hard. We never talked about it in my family. And I never got to share my feelings. Or be comfortable with opening up. Today I live a sheltered life and I'm 49

I’m so sorry. I hope you found some peace. I recently lost my mother as an adult. It is very tough. I can only imagine as a child.

I’m sorry but your mother shouldn’t have done that - I can never understand it, you needed her more than anything, she left u an orphan.

@@babyblue6743 exactly. Bereaved children need their living parent even more. Having children is like signing a life contract to put their lives before your own. You don’t get to quit when it gets tough.

At 8 my abusive mother abducted us, my Dad spent everything to get us back, and then 4 years later got a brain tumour stage four given a year to live. Best the odds through a series of surgeries and treatments, ups and downs, living scan to scan every two months. Lost him in January. Devestating. I’m 21. How can I live without the beacon of light that always guided me.

I lost my single parent mother when I was 7 and just had a series or foster parents until I aged out of the system. It definitely causes lots of issues with attachment when you just expect everyone to "go away" after no more than 7 years.

It's really weird how talk about orphans only seems to apply to orphans who seem to have extra parents lying around to keep them on school and sports etc.

1/3rd me is my Mom, 1/3rd me is my Dad, 1/3rd is me, just me. One day Mom and Dad passed away, Now just me and the 1/3rd that is still surviving inside me.
